How To Stay With Your Emotions And Why It Matters
Welcome to the course “Emotions: The Key to Healing from Trauma and Stress with Purpose ”. I am so excited you chose to spend this course with me! I’m your host, Ellen Mouton and in this course, I will share with you some insights and tips on how to tune to your emotions and create a better world for yourself and others.
We will learn about the benefits of staying with our emotions and how to do it in a healthy and constructive way. We will also learn about how emotions can help us heal from trauma, find our purpose, and change ourselves and the world. In this session, we will learn about the first benefit of staying with our emotions: how it helps us release the negative energy that is stuck in our body.
For this course, you will need a journal and a pen. We will use them from tomorrow, to practice the techniques that we will learn and to record our insights and progress
Lezione 2
How To Learn From Your Emotions And Overcome Trauma
Hello friend and welcome to the second session of our course on emotions. How do you feel today? I hope you enjoyed the body scan yesterday!
In the previous session, we learned about what emotions are, how they affect us, and how to stay with them. We also learned that staying with our emotions means being aware of them, accepting them, and expressing them in healthy ways. We also learned that staying with our emotions can help us release the negative energy that is stuck in our body and feel more relaxed and refreshed. We practiced a simple meditation technique called body scan to help us stay with our emotions and release the negative energy from our body. In this session, we will learn the second benefit of staying with your emotions.
Staying with our emotions can help us cope with challenges and difficulties, learn from our experiences, and grow as a person. However, staying with our emotions is not enough to heal from trauma. Trauma is an experience that shocks all systems of wellness (emotional, cognitive, physical, spiritual, social), and fragments our self-regulation and internal narrative of the past, present, and future.
When we experience trauma, our body goes into survival mode and activates the fight, flight, or freeze response. This response is designed to protect us from danger, but it also creates a lot of stress and tension in our body. When we ignore, suppress, or avoid our emotions, we block the natural flow of energy and create more stress and tension in our body and mind. This can lead to physical and mental health problems, such as chronic pain, anxiety, depression, or addiction.

How To Cope With Challenges And Difficulties By Understanding The Need Behind Your Emotions
Hello friend and welcome to the third session of our course on emotions.
In the previous session, we learned about how emotions are messages that tell us what is important to us, what we value, what we need, what we want, what we fear, what we hope for, etc. We also learned how to listen to these messages and learn from them. We also learned how to overcome trauma and heal from its effects by staying with our emotions. We practiced a simple technique called emotional labeling to help us stay with our emotions and gain insight and understanding into ourselves and our situation. In this session, we will learn about the third benefit of staying with your emotions.
Emotions are not problems to be solved or avoided. They are opportunities to grow and learn. They are challenges to be faced and overcome.

How To Heal From Trauma By Identifying And Meeting Your Hidden Needs

Welcome to the fourth session of our course on emotions. In the previous session, we learned about how to express our emotions in healthy ways without hurting ourselves or others. In this session, we will learn about how trauma affects our emotions and needs, and how to heal from trauma by identifying and meeting our hidden needs with a technique called emotional healing journaling.
We all have needs and it is important to know them so that we can meet them in ways that satisfy ourselves. You deserve it. So, let’s learn how to do that today.
Lezione 5
Facing And Healing Difficult Emotions
Welcome to day 5 friend! I want you to have this very important trauma healing exercise in your toolbox.
Yesterday we did an emotional healing exercise. Today, I’d like to guide you through an emotional release practice, where we’ll stay with the feeling until it fades away. Emotions are energy in motion that can get stuck in the body. They are energy that flows through our body. When we ignore, suppress, or avoid our emotions, we interrupt the natural flow of energy and create tension and stress in our body and mind. This can lead to physical and mental health problems, such as chronic pain, anxiety, depression, or addiction. To free ourselves from the negative energy attached to these emotions that we might have stored in our body for a long time, we need to release it. The following practice is the only one that truly works because it teaches our nervous system how to regulate itself, which was initially the reason why our system got overloaded and went into shut down mode or we developed a chronic illness or mental or physical condition.

How To Discover Yourself And Your Values Through Your Emotions
Hello friend I am aware that yesterday’s exercise ca sometimes trigger strong emotions or distress. If it was the case for you I want you to remember that you are safe even if the mind tries to trick you that you are not. You are ! I also want you to tell me what happened and for that you just have to write me in the virtual classroom ok?
Good! and now I’d like to welcome to DAY 6 of our course on emotions. In the previous session, we learned how to take action on our deepest needs. In this session, we will learn about how emotions are expressions of who we are, what we value, what we care about, what we dream of, etc., and how to discover ourselves and our values through our emotions with a technique called emotional values inventory.

How To Practice Self-Unwinding To Release The Energy Stored In The Body
Hello friend How are feeling today? Who find this course a little challenging? It is perfectly normal if you’re really doing the exercises and prompts. Emotion can be very uncomfortable, even painful, and certainly mysterious.
I want to Welcome you to day 7 of our course on emotions. In the previous session, we learned about how emotions are expressions of who we are, what we value, what we care about, what we dream of, etc., and how to discover ourselves and our values through our emotions. In this session, we will learn about how to release the energy stored in the body and heal from trauma and stress by practicing a simple somatic therapy exercise called self-unwinding. Emotions are not just mental phenomena. They are also physical sensations that involve changes in our nervous system, muscles, organs, hormones, etc. Emotions create energy in the body that needs to be released or regulated.

How To Use Your Emotions As A GPS And How To Transmute Your Trauma/Negative Energy
Hello, friend, and welcome to the final day of our course on emotions. What a journey, isn’t it?
You deserve a reward, and so I hope you will celebrate that later!
I know when I work on my emotions, I feel drained after that but also very satisfied and more knowledgeable on how to continue healing my trauma. You have done a great job and are on your way to heal your wounds, trauma and past difficulties by keeping on challenging yourself and your emotions and feelings! They are here to help you understand, process and regulate the negative energy of your trauma or wounds that is stored in your body. You just have to make the conscious choice to continue the journey within by working the way we did during this course, every single day or whenever an emotion comes.
