How and why living in the present is the only thing to do?

Suffering isn't our fate,

But humanity seems to be imprisoned in the matrix of conditioning also called samsara.

Indeed,

We are victims of our thoughts that are formatted by society.

We are constantly solicited by the media,

Technologies,

People who raise us,

Who educate us.

This overpowering stimulation hijacks our mind and we are no longer able to stay in the present moment where life happens.

The most recent part of our brain developed in a very sophisticated system of thought that allowed us to do more,

But also took most of our attention over.

It is impossible to simultaneously live in the past which is a collection of memories,

Most of them regrets that no longer exist,

Or the future,

Which is an anticipation of the brain based on what has already occurred while being fully aware of what is going on in each moment of our lives.

Past and future belong to the dimension of time and present to the dimension called the now where life belongs.

It is impossible to live in the past or the future,

Yes.

Our mind can project and visualize and draw our awareness into other dimensions that don't belong to the now dimension.

All dimensions are valid,

But the now is where life happens for us here on Earth.

We can either be caught in our thoughts or live our lives.

Because when our awareness is focused in the moment,

The subconscious mind subsides and we are here in control of what's going on.

And when the conscious mind is gone recalling information stored in the subconscious,

This is the subconscious mind that takes over.

You have probably heard about the expression live in the present.

When we are not focused in the present it does not mean that we are physically absent,

But rather that our attention is drawn by our thoughts and we don't remember the parts of our lives where our attention was away.

When we are caught up in our thoughts,

So much,

Imagine how much of our lives we actually live.

What triggers these thoughts and why don't they allow us to live happy lives?

Our thoughts are the result of a mind program that we get from our birth and before.

When we are born we become completely blank of information about the world we've just stepped into.

We learn by observing,

Then by repeating.

It means that our ideas,

Our opinions,

Our values and everything that constitutes our lives comes from others and nothing comes from ourselves.

In fact,

There is no quote-unquote us.

We are constructions based on the information that has been passed through our DNA via previous generations.

In addition to the new information that is and will be gathered and accumulated in this lifetime.

When we make our transition,

Our data will be added to the following generations program.

Past and future are an illusion.

Time is an illusion.

Life itself is an illusion.

This is how humanity expands and evolves,

But it does not mean positive evolution.

It just means that it's going somewhere,

But not necessarily in the right direction.

And that is exactly what is happening.

Our civilization has never been closer to its extinction.

You just have to open your eyes on what the world is going through at the moment to recognize that if we don't wake up,

It may well happen and sooner than we think.

Our self-conditioned civilization spreads from parents to children since the beginning of humanity.

And what is uncertain is the direction that it takes.

Our parents taught us what they themselves have been taught,

The good and the bad.

That is why a lot of our traumas start in our childhood when the brain is the most malleable.

But because we cannot resonate,

We think it is the absolute truth.

The suffering,

The manipulation,

The humiliation,

The feeling of lack,

Such as lack of love and any other lack,

Often come from our childhood.

Our parents start our fears and traumas without knowing they fed us out of their neurosis since they received the same kind of treatment from their own parents and educators.

Then later,

Society,

Media,

Institutions will continue developing these fears and traumas into our life dramas,

Which will feed collective consciousness and push us to perpetuate human suffering by entering the pack like a sheep and forcing us to say goodbye to our individuality and our free will.

Everything is already established for us so that we don't question things and follow the path of society.

But where are we going?

If we think like the pack,

It is only because we are born in it.

But it does not mean it is the right path for us.

We all have the same thoughts and this is what is wanted from us.

But according to scientific studies,

Not only our thoughts are 80% negative and self-sabotaging,

They also are recurrent from the day before,

The year before and even decades ago.

They became automatic and they took control of our minds in large numbers.

We have 40 to 80,

000 thoughts per day according to more scientific studies.

We are slaves of our own thought patterns and emotions,

Which disallow us to be conscious we are even living and to enjoy our lives because we are busy in the dimensions of past and future where all is already happened or is an illusion.

However,

Happiness is these little moments of joy and peace that can only be lived in the now,

Not in the past,

Not in the future,

Not through someone else but in the moment.

Why is it preferable to live in the present?

If we want to reach happiness,

Then this is in the moment that we will find it.

We fail because we mostly live in the dimensions of past and future.

To enjoy life,

Which is impermanent,

We must live in the now.

We must focus our awareness into the present moment without letting our thoughts to take us away from it.

How to focus our minds into the now?

To enjoy our lives,

We have to take them back.

In other words,

Our freedom,

Our individuality and our free will.

This can be achieved in three steps.

First,

Thought management.

How can we start managing our thoughts?

By being aware of them,

Of their patterns and their impact on our lives,

Our stress,

Anxiety and depression states.

You can start with training your mind to catch your self-thinking.

Stop for one minute,

Observe them,

Observe your reaction and wonder if this thought is or not relevant to the moment,

If it is or not constructive and then choose consciously not to follow the story in your mind.

To manage our thoughts,

We also should stop criticizing people as well as ourselves,

Because it often leads to a lot of unnecessary suffering and feeling of unworthiness.

It also promotes stress and anxiety that pushes us into our thoughts even more as a self-protective reaction.

The most efficient exercise or lifestyle is meditation,

The science of the mind,

According to Buddhism.

Because it trains our minds to focus,

It teaches concentration and helps to focus our awareness.

Two,

Take our freedom and free will back.

How to take our free will and freedom back?

By disengaging from the pack and by taking our power of decision and action back.

To change durably,

It is necessary to work in partnership with our brain,

Which is the object of a very sophisticated ancestral programming whose survival is the focus.

But because we always come back to our habitual self,

We have difficulty to change and reprocrastinate,

Thinking self-sabotaging thoughts such as,

I'm lazy,

I can't achieve anything,

And worse.

Change starts with rewiring our brain by introducing new habits.

For a new habit integration,

We need to let go of what no longer serves us.

We also need to try and repeat the new actions,

The ones we choose.

If you don't,

The program wins and you are back in the pack with ideas that don't belong to you.

To disengage,

We must learn to think for ourselves,

And one of the many exercises available would be to stop watching TV where we did not choose the information brought to us.

Instead,

We must learn to go and get it without stopping at the first result,

Especially coming from a Facebook post.

It also means that we need to learn to step back,

Be humble,

And question everything we think we know,

While accepting that we don't know the absolute truth and that we could even be wrong or that we don't have an answer to everything.

Third step,

Rehearsing happiness.

How?

By unlearning limiting beliefs to relearning new ideas that promote emancipation as well as a more balanced,

Healthy,

And then happy approach to life.

For that we have to repair and heal emotionally,

Important phase for a successful reconnection,

Reintegration,

And reprogramming.

It is part of the introspection work that we must all start at some point.

We also need to forgive ourselves as well as others to start the healing process.

Because even though you think it's because of them that you are where you are today,

And it may be the case,

It is not their fault,

Either ours.

Nobody acted consciously.

It is very important to become mature enough to recognize that it is time to stop being angry at people,

At our parents,

From generation to generation.

It does not mean that we forget and accept,

Because we don't have to,

But rather it helps to close the chapter,

To be able to move on and realize that we are on the same boat,

Parents and children.

It also asks to learn and revise our core values and embrace sometimes furtive little moments that constitute life.

The best exercise to experience the present moment and to put all our attention and awareness into it is active mindfulness,

Where you are one with whatever you are doing and stay present as it unfolds before your eyes.

It can be practiced during any of your daily activities,

Even while working.

Conclusion The key resides in three steps we have just covered,

But because it is difficult to develop such a vast subject in one article,

It will be the subject of a book that I am currently working on.

The key word is introspection,

Which means to turn inward for answers and help that only we can provide for ourselves.

Society won't give us any answer.

We have a life behind this limited physical life,

And recognizing and embracing it would help to connect the dots of the puzzle of our disconnected life.

By working on ourselves,

Not only we get to find the resources and the answers to our questions,

But we are also shown the door to happiness that is unique to each of us.

Only a deep inside work will open them for us.

So when are you starting?

VERY Interesting and Thought-Provoking❣️ I do agree with much of what you share here, but my personal life experience disputes (my interpretation) a few of your points. Will anxiously await the publication of your book! Is there a target date for it’s release? 🙏🏻💕
