This simple practice enables you to take back control of how you feel and avoid simply reacting unconsciously. Using the ABC method created by Peter and Sue Dawson - Acknowledge how you feel right now, Breathe rhythmically and choose consciously what you do next, with clarity, but without anxiety and stress. Use this anytime you feel anxious, stressed or overwhelmed & want to pause for a moment of clarity, peace and centredness. The more you use the technique the more effective it becomes.

Welcome,

I appreciate this is a tough moment for you,

But you've made a good choice to acknowledge,

Breathe and choose again.

Just acknowledge how you feel and breathe out.

A long,

Slow exhale and make a choice to breathe rhythmically and let that original feeling go.

Breathe in,

Two,

Three,

Pause,

Breathe out,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Pause and let go.

Breathe in,

Two,

Three,

Pause,

Breathe out,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Pause and let go.

Breathe in,

Two,

Three,

Pause,

Breathe out,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Pause and let go.

Now choose again.

Repeat this as often as you need it until the intensity of the emotion you are feeling reduces to a level more comfortable for you and the way forward becomes clearer.
