A short 2-minute breathwork practice using Cross-Body Sun Breathing designed to calm the nervous system, improve focus, and enhance left-right brain and body coordination. This simple guided practice supports mind-body integration, attention regulation, and nervous system balance, making it ideal when you feel scattered, overstimulated, distracted, or mentally fatigued. By coordinating breath with cross-lateral movement awareness, you activate both hemispheres of the brain, helping to improve clarity, presence, and grounded awareness while gently restoring calm. This practice can be used as a quick reset during work, study breaks, or anytime you need to return to center and restore focus. Your guide, Lisa Danahy, is a registered IAYT yoga therapist specializing in trauma-informed care, nervous system regulation, and integrative wellness practices.

Cross body movements to activate both the left and right hemispheres of the mind and body.

This is a great breath for focusing and bringing a little bit of energy while also grounding.

Let's give it a try.

Sit up nice and tall,

Cross the arms over and breathe in,

Bringing them up overhead.

Breathe out and let them come down by your sides.

Inhale up overhead.

Now cross the opposite way,

Bringing the arms to your left.

Inhale and bring the arms around.

And exhale them down by your side.

Inhale,

Bring them back up.

And on the exhale,

Cross.

Of the other way to the opposite way.

Breathe in,

Reach out.

Breathe out and relax the arms by your side.

Breathe in overhead.

And exhale,

Cross in the opposite way.

Keep going.

With your own breath,

At your own pace.

Let your body get into a natural rhythm of flying on the breath.
