Hello,

And welcome to Balloon Relaxation,

A guided imagery for children of all ages.

Now we're going on a journey in our imaginations.

Lay down or sit still.

Get comfortable.

Close your eyes or allow your gaze to soften and become very quiet.

Open your body like a balloon.

Slowly breathe in and fill up the balloon.

Breathe out and feel the air emptying out,

Your body becoming flat and still.

Breathe in full.

Breathe out empty.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

You feel happy and calm as you begin floating up into the sky.

You see clouds as you fly higher and higher,

Now moving through the sky.

You pass over grass,

Flowers,

And trees,

Floating higher and higher.

You float over a pond,

See ducks playing there in the water.

The sunshine feels so warm.

A bird flies by,

Up and over a mountain.

You fly higher into the sky with the birds and find a rainbow.

See all the colors in the rainbow,

Red,

Orange,

Yellow,

Green,

Blue,

Indigo.

Allow one color to be brighter or to make its way to you so that you are now sitting in this color,

Lying in this color,

Playing in this color of the rainbow.

Feel it all around you.

Notice how this color makes you feel.

Now once more.

See all the colors of the rainbow and begin to slide down the rainbow,

Slide,

Slide,

Slide,

All the way back down to the ground.

You land gently on the ground,

Feeling calm and happy.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Breathe in happy,

Breathe out calm.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Now start waking up your body slowly,

Breathing a little more deeply.

Imagine the breath reaching all the way out to your fingers and your toes.

Stretch your fingers and wiggle your toes.

Rub your hands and your feet together,

Making cricket sounds.

Hear the crickets all around.

Now stretch your body and give a yawn and slowly widen your eyes more open and breathe in and breathe out.

Our journey is now complete.

You are happy.

Thank you for joining me today on our guided journey.

I hope we'll be back together soon.
