Everyone

A short Breath of Joy practice designed to uplift energy, regulate the nervous system, and restore emotional balance. This simple breathwork sequence gently activates the body and breath to support a shift from stagnation, fatigue, or mental heaviness into clarity, presence, and renewed vitality. At the same time, it helps regulate the nervous system so the energy remains grounded, steady, and integrated rather than overstimulating. This practice is ideal when you feel low energy, emotionally flat, disconnected, or mentally foggy, or when you simply want a quick reset to restore motivation and focus. In just a few minutes, you can shift your internal state toward greater ease, lightness, and embodied awareness. Your guide, Lisa Danahy, is a registered IAYT yoga therapist specializing in trauma-informed care, nervous system regulation, and integrative wellness practices.

Transcript

It's got three parts to the inhalation.

First the hands come up here,

And then out to the sides,

And then up overhead.

Exhale and fold yourself forward.

So take a sip of breath in and bring the arms in front of you.

A second sip to the sides and a third sip overhead and a big exhalation.

Sniff in again.

And then release.

You can even open the mouth as you exhale.

And come down with a huff.

Bye.

Sniff up.

And release.

Try it a little bit faster.

Go as fast as you can if you'd like.

Building that energy in your body.

Make it feel joyful and full.

And one more time.

Or two.

And let it go.
