5-Minute Morning Meditation
by Jenny Mayo
How we start the day can greatly shape the tone and pace of what unfolds next. Even when we're overly busy, this super short meditation allows us to begin the day with grounding, clarity, expansion, and gratitude, taking a moment to set an intention for how we wish to feel and actually cultivating it. Good morning,
I'm Jenny Mayo.
Welcome to this five minute morning meditation.
I invite you to find a comfortable position for your body.
If you're not quite awake yet and still feel like lying down,
You may,
Although I encourage you to sit up and start awakening to the day.
So just getting out any last shifts,
Closing the eyes if you like.
Really feeling your sit bones grounding on the earth.
We'll start to take some deeper breaths into the belly.
Just feeling the possibility,
The openness and expansion of the day starting to enter your lungs,
Your chest,
Your belly.
Maybe imagining some of the light of the day coming in as well and spreading throughout your body.
So gently awakening your body and into the space of light and possibility,
Calling to mind something you're grateful for today.
And something else.
And something more.
Asking yourself now deep into your core,
Maybe your heart,
How would I like to feel today?
Just starting to feel that feeling right now.
It's helpful in conjuring it up.
Maybe thinking of a time when you felt so full of that feeling.
Each in-breath allowing that feeling to expand a little bit further within your body.
You might even start to picture your day unfolding with this feeling still intact,
Still glowing within you as you do what you need to do,
Maybe what you want to do.
Taking our last few breaths here,
Really sipping in this feeling that you wish to feel for one or two last breaths.
Asking and gratitude for all that you're thankful for and for this day that's unfolding for you now.
Thank you for meditating with me today.
