We don't have to sit around waiting for joy to come to us; there are many ways we can actively call more of it in, particularly meditation. Through this guided visualization practice, we'll reconnect to the joy that's already inside us, heighten our awareness of small joys around us, and envision and feel our most joyful selves. You might work with this meditation anytime you need a little joyful boost, or you could use it daily for a longer period (for instance, a week) to help strengthen the joyful pathways in your brain and increase the impact. This is a central practice in my "4 Weeks to More Joy!" Insight Timer course, so if you enjoy this meditation, I encourage you to explore the other tools I share there as well! I encourage you to explore the other tools.

I shared there as well without further ado,

I Am finding a comfortable position for your body seated or lying down And closing the eyes if you like It's taking a few moments here to land right here right now in this moment healing your body in space Healing all the points of contact you're making with support whatever holds you up Maybe just taking a few Exhales to see if you can release a little bit more of your weight into the earth Running into your natural breath here and just watching a few inhales and exhales Pulling to mind now Just one small joy from your day today Be anything tiny Thing Person and interaction whatever comes to mind allowing all of the visuals and all of the other sensory details of this small joy To swell back into your mind now as if you are encountering it right now breathing in to this feeling This small sip of joy pulling to mind now any moment of greater joy that you've experienced in your lifetime a big moment a milestone a Celebration a cherished moment with a loved one any moment of great joy And if it's hard to think of one Maybe even imagining one a moment of ideal joy for yourself again Really picturing it as if you are in this moment right now And allowing any other sensory details To swell into your mind as well Breathe into the joy of this moment Asking yourself now Who am I when I am my most?

Joyful self Maybe adjectives come to mind or images Maybe you notice what you look like What facial expression you're wearing Maybe specific activities come to mind Just welcoming whatever arises Who am I when I am my most?

Joyful self Remembering that this self is You as a part of you and within you Just taking a few breaths Really feeling what this self feels Breathing as this self now Getting to deep in the breath now Taking your deepest fullest breath of the day now all the way deep into the belly down to the toes and gently releasing Remembering that joy is always inside us And we can find it around us even in small sips Thank you so much for meditating with me today
