
Stop The Spiral: Break Free From Overthinking
In this video, you will learn how to break out of an overthinking loop in three simple steps. First, recognise when you’re stuck in the loop, then shift your perspective by noticing the feelings underneath the thoughts. Finally, take intentional action to move forward—whether that’s making a call, sending a message, or creating a clear plan.

It can be so difficult to break out of an overthinking loop.
So here are three things that I think can be helpful for you.
The first one is to recognize that you're actually in this loop.
When you feel your mind spinning and spiraling all around,
Take a moment and stop and notice the fact that you are overthinking.
Step number two is to shift your perspective and start to think about some of the emotions that you're feeling.
So practically speaking,
What you can do is take a step back and think about this situation that you're overthinking from someone else's perspective.
What might they assume or think about?
Notice any assumptions that you are making.
You're probably thinking something like,
Oh my gosh,
This person is so stressed about what I did or what I said.
What they're thinking.
And then label some of the emotions that you're feeling.
I'm feeling really anxious about this or I'm feeling stressed about this or I'm feeling embarrassed about this.
Label it,
Name it,
Because that makes it so much easier to manage.
And the last step,
Now that you've had a chance to step back in step two,
Is to take some intentional action.
So whether that means getting organized,
Sorting your to-do list out,
Sorting your life out or your calendar out,
Making a phone call,
Getting in touch with someone,
Making amends for maybe something that you did wrong or want to correct,
Really just take some intentional action because that first step of action can be the remedy to you overthinking it.
