Transcript
Good morning and welcome to this meditation to start the day with a positive feeling of gratitude.
In any given moment,
No matter how we're feeling,
There is always something to feel grateful for.
If you haven't already,
Find a comfortable position and allow your eyes to gently close.
Start connecting to the present moment by taking a few deep breaths with full inhales that expand the belly and long exhales that soften the body even more each time.
Do this on your own.
Feel as the tension releases from the forehead,
The jaw,
The neck,
And shoulders.
Taking your way down all the way to the feet.
Good.
Now turn your focus to your breath,
Observing your breath as you breathe in and out of the nose.
Feel the breath as it moves in your body and use it as an anchor to your awareness.
As you watch your breath,
Observe any sensations you feel in your body.
Maybe how your chest rises and falls,
The tingling in the fingers.
Observe any sensations present in the body.
If you find your mind has wandered,
That's perfectly natural.
Let the thoughts go as quickly as they came and gently bring your focus back to the breath.
From this state of relaxation,
Ask yourself,
Whom or what do I appreciate in my life right now?
Notice the first thing or person that comes to mind.
Bring all your attention to it.
While there are many things in life that we can be grateful for,
With this meditation,
Focus on that one person or thing you appreciate most in this moment.
Continue to focus on that source of gratitude.
Now notice how you're feeling.
There's no right or wrong answer.
Just bring your focus to any emotions or sensations you're experiencing.
Ooh,
Next name I got.
Beautiful.
Now repeat the following phrases after me.
I am grateful for this new day.
I am grateful for my life.
I am grateful for everything my body does for me.
I am grateful for everything my mind does for me.
I am grateful to my soul for guiding me through life.
I am grateful for all the people that support me.
Now I invite you to extend gratitude to yourself for taking the time to do this practice and show yourself love in this way.
And taking as much time as you'd like,
Holding on to this gratitude throughout the day.
Slowly and gently open your eyes.
I am grateful for everything my body does for me.
