Fear of illness, death, change, success, failure, being alone, or the unknown... Fear is something that affects many of us, in a plethora of ways, it can be big or small, all-encompassing or fleeting moments, stemming from past experience, or completely 'irrational' (or so it may seem). This mindfulness practice is to introduce Pranayama (breath work) and affirmations to help release fear or at the very least, begin to look at it in a different way. With love, AAxo

Hi,

My name is Andrea Ashley,

And I'm so grateful for you to be sharing this time with me.

Starting by getting yourself in a comfortable seated or laying down position.

One that you can maintain comfortably.

Letting the eyes close.

And the body softening into a still space.

And together,

We will meditate fear into flow.

It is said that the acronym for fear is false expectations appearing real.

And while it may be true,

That fear is an emotion of worry or concern of something happening to us.

And safety and requiring safety is not only valid,

But is a basic human need.

We fear something unpleasant,

Hurtful,

Undesired,

Or even life changing can happen to us.

But the thing is,

Is it is not real.

It is not guaranteed.

And often,

It may not even be statistically plausible.

Yet,

Fear stops us anyway.

It stops us from experiencing,

From trying,

And therefore stops us from learning and growing.

Stops us from moving forward.

And can even stop us dead in our tracks,

Preventing us not only from that one area where the fear originates,

But also for being present and experiencing what is happening in the now.

Our fear is a certain outcome of a current,

Non-existing reality.

And that is a guarantee of missing out on your present life.

These beautiful,

Precious moments are fleeting and missed as fear distracts you from it.

Fear takes up space in your mind,

Emotionally in your heart and your gut,

And even physically as fear brings the body into a state of tightness and tension.

Our breath becomes shallow and quick.

Now it's not only depriving us of the present moment,

But depriving us of our best health.

So whether you feel illness,

You fear death,

You fear change,

Success,

Failure,

Being alone,

Or the unknown,

Fear comes in small packages,

Big,

All-encompassing packages,

And everywhere in between.

It can be in just a few moments of a small occurrence in the day or something that nags in the back of your mind for months.

Either way,

When fear starts to creep in,

We can start to acknowledge it and come into connection with our body by slowing down our breath.

Together now,

We will breathe in,

Holding for four,

Just noticing the subtleties of how the mind-body has shifted just from introducing that breath.

We'll begin to transition now into inhaling for six and exhaling for six.

Take an equal ratio breath.

Settling into a rhythmic flow and silently repeat after me.

I am at peace.

I feel calm and at ease.

Any fear that arises is an opportunity for me to explore and learn more about myself.

I acknowledge fear for what it is,

Emotional information.

Fear no longer stops me,

But instead makes me curious.

I am not bound by fear.

I have the ability to release and overcome fear whenever I choose.

I choose flow over fear.

I realize any negative opinions or actions that stem from my fear.

I release this negativity and I replace fear with curiosity.

I replace fear with flow.

I replace fear with love.

I replace fear with freedom.

I replace fear with flow.

I replace fear with love.

I replace fear with freedom.

If you are laying down or sitting and if it feels comfortable to you,

Bringing one hand to the heart and one hand to the belly.

Eyes remaining closed,

Continuing to breathe slowly and deeply.

An understanding that it is okay to evaluate our risk,

To think rationally before jumping or making decisions.

But this can be done in absence of fear or replacing fear.

It can be done so much more clearly with more grounding energy to it when fear isn't the sole controller.

Fear can be helpful just as any other signal in our body,

It's an indicator to look at what's going on,

To pay attention.

We want to look,

Acknowledge and move through.

With your hand remaining on your heart and the other hand on your belly,

Send a love to your fear.

Thanking it for protecting you,

For keeping you safe.

And on your next exhale,

Letting it all go in confidence that you can protect yourself and trust in the flow of life.

Sending you all so much love and light.

Hoping you have a beautiful day.
