So I was saying that we normally say we have a lot of problems in the world outside.

Problems in personal,

Professional,

Social life,

Problem of money,

Problem of physical health,

This all belongs to the world.

So my master used to say that we do not have any problem in this world.

The world itself is a problem and we have no choice to leave this world.

So if we have no choice to leave,

Leaving this world means the death,

So we have no choice to leave this world.

So the master says learn how to live in this world but do not allow the world to live in you.

When the world lives in you,

You have anxiety,

You have pain,

You have problem,

You have suffering.

So the journey of meditation is all about,

What is it all about?

All about to educate the mind.

But again next question comes,

Why to educate the mind?

You see the step by step,

It's a rational,

Everything is put it on the reasoning and the knowledge.

So the next question comes,

Why to educate the mind?

Is mind not educated by default?

Now see,

By default,

The stress and suffering enters into our life.

They do not say,

They do not knock the door,

They enter from the back door.

Do you see that?

Stress,

Problems,

Suffering,

They enter from the back door by default.

To learn anything and the permanent peace and happiness,

Love and wisdom is a matter of choice.

We have to make a choice.

If we don't make a choice,

Forget about living in peace and harmony and happiness.

See,

Your honey has a problem.

So honey has a problem,

But because he or she is related to you,

So the problem comes from the back door because my honey is suffering,

So I'm also suffering.

Do you see that?

So all problems,

All problems enters in our life from the back door.

That means the world is entering in us because we are living impulsively,

Instinctively,

Habitually,

And that is why we have to educate the mind.

And to educate the mind,

We have to make a choice.

And the choice is made by the intellect.

I'm adding a lot of subtle principles of Eastern wisdom on the Christmas Eve,

But we should be very clear to understand this knowledge of the Eastern wisdom has no barrier of language,

Even though all these principles are written in a Sanskrit language.

It is beyond time,

Space,

Location,

Language.

You see,

That's why we don't talk of religion,

Cult,

Dogma,

Belief.

In any cult or dogma,

Teacher is important.

Do you see that?

Have you seen some scam of the cult?

So we always talk,

Oh,

That guy has created the cult.

See that?

Eastern wisdom has no cult.

The moment you create a cult,

It is not Eastern wisdom.

It is not meditation.

In culture,

History is important.

You see that?

In meditation,

History is also not important.

Geography,

No,

It is also not important.

Lineage,

Not important.

Knowledge of the reality,

Neither is this time-based,

History-based,

Location-based,

Language-based.

We should keep this in our mind.

That is the journey of meditation.

Think of this.

Knowledge-based,

No,

No,

Yes.

Time-based,

No.

Geography-based,

No,

No,

No,

No,

Not at all.

So we were understanding that this journey of meditation,

It has no,

Not based on religion,

Cult,

Dogma,

Geography,

Time,

Location.

It is the knowledge of reality.

And that reality is symbolically said,

It lies deep within our heart,

Not the physical heart that medical doctors talk about.

It is at the center of the rib cage,

Which is the seat of pure consciousness.

So anytime,

Every time we should learn and practice meditation,

Keep your mind free from religion,

Cult,

Dogma,

Location,

Geography,

Culture.

It is free from culture.

Why?

In culture,

History is important.

What happened thousand years,

Thousand years ago?

So I also talk about it that this is,

This knowledge is six to 8,

000 years old,

But that is only a reference point.

It has nothing to do with history.

So today is Christmas Eve,

So I thought that should we talk of something more deeper,

So in ancient India,

There was a prince.

So his father decided to arrange the marriage of his son with a princess of another kingdom.

Everything was arranged,

Was ready,

But the king heard that the enemy kingdom has invaded.

So he asked his son to go for a fight.

Then the marriage.

That happens in a subtle way.

Also,

Not a big deal.

So anyhow.

So the prince.

So have you seen the Indian women?

You know,

They put a red line in just in the middle.

There is known as a red powder.

They put it so that gives a certificate that this woman is married.

So the,

Uh,

His father asked the prince to touch this red powder.

And that red powder was sent to the princess.

That now the prince cannot come.

He has gone to fight.

So so ultimately that princess put the red powder in the middle.

So the prince inquired the enemy kingdom.

And then he thought that,

Oh,

My princess is very near from this place.

So he stayed in a hotel and he seduced the princess hiding his real identity.

So the princess came to him to meet him.

Princess did not know that he is the same guy with whom the marriage is arranged.

But the prince was very well aware of it.

So when they met together,

The prince revealed his identity.

I am the same guy with whom you got married.

Your red is powder that I sent you.

The girl fainted and died.

How sorry.

This is a parable gives you the because she thought.

Once the prince revealed identity,

She thought.

What a crime I did before revealing the identity.

That I got seduced by the guy.

Do you understand the story?

That is what happens in our daily life.

We are seduced by.

Now understand,

We are seduced by the pleasure of pasta.

If we like pasta,

I'm always giving an example of pasta.

So we are seduced by physical pleasure.

So pleasure is there.

Pleasure is there in the pasta.

Pleasure is there in the car.

Pleasure is there in the house.

Pleasure is there in the clothes.

Coles,

You know,

The coles store seduces us by this holiday season.

We are seduced by place,

Location,

Food,

Objects of the senses all the time.

One more thing here.

What is it?

Pleasure is there.

That pleasure is a joy.

Don't you see?

Oh,

There's a joy of eating,

Joy of putting on the clothes,

Joy of buying a car,

Joy of having a house.

We experience the joy.

It is a fact.

Is it not a fact?

It's a fact.

Whether it's a physical pleasure or eating objects of the senses or buying something,

The mind realizes this joy belongs to the object.

But in reality,

That joy belongs to my real nature.

We don't realize.

Are you getting it?

That joy comes from the real nature.

That joy does not come from the pasta.

And if there is a joy in the pasta,

Examine,

Find it out.

Are you getting it?

That is the journey of meditation.

We know it.

We don't recognize it.

This is the problem solved by the teachings of the Eastern wisdom.

You don't recognize that joy is coming from the heart within where the real self is seated.

We always say,

Come on,

Honey,

We will go to that restaurant.

Pasta was very good.

Tell me,

Is it not a fact?

That fact is a delusion.

And we want to live in delusion.

That is why meditation is known as removing this delusion.

What is delusion?

What appears true is not true.

Joy appears in pasta.

In fact,

It is not.

Where you experience the joy?

Tell me.

Do you experience inside you or in the pasta?

Inside you or in the car?

Inside you or in the clothes?

Or maybe take an extreme example inside you or in the physical pleasure?

Just discover that.

Find it out where I experience the joy you experience here.

Not in the object outside and we forget it.

So why I told you the story,

The second message in the story.

We are dying every day because we see the pleasure in these things.

We are dying every day.

That is making our life miserable.

Wait,

Just see that.

Understand that.

Listen to it and then you start contemplating where the mind is going here and now.

Mind has to go with the thought.

Isn't it?

It has to be a thought.

And thought is equal to object plus I am.

That is a mathematical equation.

I like pasta,

You see,

Thought pasta is an object and I am.

So we have number of thoughts like this.

That is why we say mind is wandering.

Are you getting it?

Very simple to understand,

But when you contemplate and reflect and you keep your mind aware.

Oh,

This is it.

Mind now you cannot cheat me.

So now go to the very first lesson.

We allow,

We live in this world,

But do not allow the world to live in us.

Conclusion is there.

I started with a conclusion and I explained.

Meditation,

You know,

When we say meditation,

Get rid of that idea that meditation has to do with the cult,

Dogma,

Geography,

Place.

No,

It has to do with the knowledge of the reality.

Anne used to ask me,

Is there a God?

I never answered that question.

Why should I answer?

Then she used to come to New Jersey in my rented apartment.

We need not to answer.

It has nothing to do with the God,

Religion,

Cult,

Dogma,

Belief.

It has to do with you,

Who you really are.

Third message from the story,

We all are Prince and Princess.

Why we are Prince and Princess?

Because we have that treasure within us.

It is willed by this delusion created by the mind.

So the world lives in us and that causes the problem.

Always remember that the suffering enters from the back door,

But meditation is a journey where we have to make a conscious choice.

That conscious choice is made by the intellect and the intellect is willed by the mind that lives in delusion.

So we have to purify the mind.

One and we do not allow the intellect to be dictated by the mind,

Which lives in delusion.

Mind says,

I like pasta.

I have tried three times.

Come on,

Have it.

Let us fix an appointment there.

Forget about an appointment.

It is all about seeking pleasure,

Thinking that that pleasure is present in the pasta.

So now you see the intellect has been dominated,

Dictated by the mind because we have fixed an appointment.

We have a business meeting.

Why not have a business meeting where I have tried pasta a few times?

Do you see that?

Then intellect cannot make a choice.

The mind is dictating the intellect and then we claim we are very intelligent.

Go to that restaurant,

Have pasta.

I'm making a simple statement.

You can change that statement in relationship,

In your personal life,

In your professional life,

In your social life.

You will come to know how your mind is thinking.

I don't want to be very tough in statements.

You can think of it the same statement in relationship.

See that,

Understand that.

So that is why the meditation cannot be achieved in a single session.

We have to learn a lot of these principles and the best,

The one,

What happens in the advanced stages of meditation that your mind instantly picks up these principles.

In the beginning,

You have to contemplate and reflect the way we learn the driving.

We learn all the different things in the driving.

We learn the rules of the road and then we pass the examination.

Same thing.

But once you are a licensed driver,

You don't need to remember.

The mind recalls these.

Mind recalls.

I need not to go and study and then prepare and then I said,

Okay,

Let me start.

I am only a reference point that here is a sutra,

Here is a text that I have to educate and speak on that.

So having laid that foundation,

Now see that first step of meditation.

We should know the object.

Second step of meditation,

Which says uninterrupted flow of the mind inside is meditation.

Third stage of meditation.

When there is an uninterrupted flow,

The mind realizes that it has transcended the duality and the division,

The third stage of meditation.

So when you live into that stage,

Then it leads to two basic higher steps of meditation.

One is known as Sampra Gyat Samadhi,

The other is known as A Sampra Gyat Samadhi.

But in Sampra Gyat Samadhi,

We have four stages of meditation.

So first three,

Then out of the two Sampra Gyat,

We have four stages,

Which is known as Vitharka,

Vichar,

Ananda,

Asmita.

You cross that,

Then you enter into the second group,

Which is known as A Sampra Gyat.

So A Sampra Gyat gives you a sign of emptiness,

But that emptiness is also of two types,

Savikalpa and Nirvikalpa.

Then you move into the Nirvikalpa Samadhi,

That is also of two types,

Sabis and Nirvij.

And then you enter into the Nirvij Samadhi and that emptiness reveals the true nature and we recognize,

Oh,

It is within me already.

That joy is not outside,

It is already within me.

And once you recognize that,

You never forget.

Last point and then we will start the practice.

Now you don't forget.

So it means now you stop eating pasta.

No,

You eat pasta,

But you recognize joy is coming from inside.

That is the difference that you realize.

And there is the end of suffering.

Suffering is not there.

Why?

Because the mind is not craving for the pasta,

For the joy.

Do you see that?

See the revolution?

At this,

You know,

Whatever the joy you are deriving from,

Which object or a person or a thing or a cloth or a car,

You don't see that.

There is a constant conscious recognition that joy is already within me.

Then what happens?

There is a natural state of dispassion,

Detachment comes.

Oh,

Pasta for the food.

Then mind recognizes eat to live or live to eat.

Oh,

There is no pasta,

No problem.

What is there in the food?

Let me eat it.

So you enjoy eating the food for survival,

Not for seeking the pleasure.

Now see what happens.

So you are in a meditative state and you are a millionaire.

That million is worthless.

You are living in difficulty,

Maintaining your livelihood in this COVID time.

You know how to manage your resources.

You drop all the pleasures.

The mind is still in the same state of the joy.

It is independent of everything outside.

Whatever the situation we have.

Why I said so?

Majority of our early masters,

They said,

We have found the joy.

So leave all the possessions.

They have left their house.

They have left everything.

They live on two pairs of clothes and there was a system discovered or invented,

I would say,

Not discovered in ancient time that they will wear the orange colored clothes so that the society will recognize them as a monk.

So the monk knocks the door.

Now there is a hotchpotch between the monk and crimes.

Some criminals also take the shape of a monk.

So I'm not talking of the modern days.

And they create a cult.

I'm not talking of so what was the system?

They have left everything.

They don't own anything.

They don't possess anything.

So they used to go.

They used to knock the doors of three households.

So whatever is offered.

So there was a tradition that the moment you see the monk,

You bring the food and you put it into their basket.

My master used to sleep in a cremation ground for at least six to seven years to check,

Not to be crazy,

But to check if the joy continues or not.

Independent of everything.

So there is another tradition in which what people do once you reach to that state,

You what you do,

You leave everything and you,

What we say in America,

We normally do in vacation.

We drive.

We go for a long drive.

So there those monks used to travel the entire country from one corner to the other,

Passing on this message.

That was the tradition.

So listen to this again and again.

Understand,

Pick up every principle to live in the world,

What it means and not to allow the world to live within me.

And you will find every thought has little different degree of seeking pleasure with an object or a person outside.

That is the cause of delusion.

Let us start our practice of meditation.

Then we will have question and answer.

Eyes are closed.

Eyes are closed and pick up any position of the body.

Pick up any position of the body and find out the best position of the body if I say so.

Looking inside the head in the space.

You are looking at the body,

You are aware and at the same time you are aware of the heart within or the head within.

They both are symbolic.

I told you before that it has nothing to do with,

But it has nothing to do with nationality,

Location,

Space,

Geography,

Language.

So sometime I say look inside the head,

Look out and in the space and sometime I say look inside the heart in the space.

Both are okay.

Now in the stage one,

If I say so of meditation,

Be comfortable.

Now see that being comfortable you are looking at the neck joint.

Pick up the three layers,

Three pointed awareness.

First point of awareness is an object.

What is an object?

The neck joint.

Then the second point of awareness is your experience.

It is there is a sensation being comfortable and steadiness.

Don't stop there.

Go to the third,

Move inside.

Go about it.

What is there?

Nothingness,

Emptiness.

So educating the mind in this way,

One day we discover,

We recognize our real nature.

So you see in every step I add that element.

Why?

Because I am strictly adhering to the principles of Eastern wisdom.

Looking at the shoulder joints,

Being there,

Feeling,

Now feeling is conscious experience of sensation,

Being comfortable,

Steadiness.

That is second point of awareness.

Now see what happens to the mind if you are repeating it again and again and doing the practice.

Does the sensation has any shape,

Size,

Color?

No.

Does the steadiness has any shape,

Size,

Color,

Form?

No.

So that conscious experience points the mind to something deeper and that is what we are picking up today.

Moving beyond sensation,

Being comfortable and steadiness.

Beyond that,

Oh,

I don't see anything.

Very good.

Be there mind.

A sense of emptiness.

Hip joint,

First point of awareness.

Second point,

Sensation,

Being comfortable and steadiness.

Third point,

Nothingness,

No object.

So why we are doing like this?

I told you the wandering mind has a lot of thoughts.

That is what it means by the wandering mind and every thought has an object plus I am and this I am is a wrong notion.

I don't recognize who the real I am.

The ego is built up on pleasure seeking mind.

How simple.

Then the entire body from the crown of the head to the toes,

Being there,

Feeling sensation,

Being comfortable and steadiness and inside,

Beyond that,

You know.

But we take this mind to the next level so that this mind does not interfere with the intellect so that we can make a right choice and that is what is being carefree.

So in that understanding,

With that knowledge,

We have to understand this step being carefree.

Thoughts are there,

Okay.

Coming and going,

Okay.

Staying there,

Okay.

So we have to put all the thoughts,

Awareness and the mind behind it.

Three pointed,

Again I can say three pointed awareness.

You are aware that all these thoughts are separate from you.

Content is different separate from the container.

The water is separate from the tumbler.

Content in the box is separate from the box.

That is what we are saying here.

So we have to see it means we have to become aware.

Any thought is coming.

So I've been giving those examples again and again.

The birds flying in the sky,

The sky does not change.

The birds,

They appear and disappear.

The waves appear and disappear.

The water does not change.

You see how simple it is?

And then we keep our journey,

Continue to purify the mind.

This step you know I have been saying that it's a casual way.

Quick,

Short,

Gentle,

Playful breath through both the nostrils.

Whether you move your ribcage or belly doesn't matter,

But keep your mind in the space inside the forehead and start breathing.

Quick short,

Gentle breaths.

A little air.

Continue.

Quick,

Short,

Gentle,

Playful breath.

And stop this.

Experience the change.

So why I say experience the change?

To make your mind aware all experiences taking place in the mind,

Not outside.

So it will break the wrong notion.

Pleasure is in the object,

In a person,

In a money,

In anything outside.

We feel some kind of calmness or freshness or relaxation,

Whatever it is.

We are not going into the scientific understanding that oxygen,

More oxygen is absorbed.

That is not the step in meditation.

It may be good for the scientist,

But those who are seekers.

.

.

Now see that further.

Now start breathing little deep,

Silent and slow.

Make the breath little deeper,

Not very deep,

So that you can see the rhythm of the breath is deeper.

So as you inhale,

Breath is considered the breath is a car,

The mind is the driver,

And the highway,

The space is the highway inside.

Add one more thing.

Let me tell you.

So first as you inhale,

Move the mind inside the right arm from the shoulder to the fingertips in the space.

And when you see the space,

Sing in your mind.

In your mind.

As you exhale,

Move the mind from the fingertips to the shoulder and continue singing.

So inhalation you are singing on,

Exhalation you are singing on.

One more point.

And if you are aware of that point,

The mind will be absorbed.

When you are singing on,

You listen to what you are singing.

And now inside the left arm,

You see the breath,

Mind,

Aum singing in your mind and listening to it.

Aum is just a symbol.

As Aun is a symbol,

Sophie is a symbol,

So the Aum.

Don't take it in a religious way at all.

Maintain your awareness.

You are singing and that singing of the Aum,

The way the sound has been designed,

It triggers the mind to go deeper.

And inside the right leg from the right side of the waist to the toes,

From the toes to the waist.

Alright.

Now inside the left leg.

Now inside the spine from the crown of the head to the tailbone and from the tailbone to the crown of the head.

During exhalation and during inhalation,

The mind is gently moving with the breath and you are singing and listening.

Om.

Om is the thought.

So when any thought enters into your mind,

Honey,

The image also appears.

Oh.

See that?

See that?

And I'll leave this to analyze.

Leave this step.

Allow the breath to be normal.

Look deep inside your heart in this space.

Second shanti is all about our mind and the breath.

And third shanti is all about the physical body.

First shanti.

Shanti.

Second to the mind.

Shanti,

Second shanti is to the mind.

Third shanti is the physical body.

Listening and meaning.

Om.

Symbolically,

The real nature,

The pure consciousness expresses itself in shanti,

Remain as you are,

Just live into that state.

So when the mind lives inside,

It has nothing to hang upon on any object outside.

The knowledge reveals the reality.

Inside,

There is a second body,

Which is known as mind.

So that subtle body consists of the memory,

Mind,

Intellect,

And ego,

I-ness.

Third body is known as causal body.

Causal means the cause.

So according to the teachings,

The cause of the physical body is the subtle body,

That is the mind,

And the cause of the mental body is the causal body.

What is causal body consists of?

It consists of ignorance.

It consists of nascence.

It consists of delusion.

It consists of the wrong notions and ideas in the seed form,

As a past impression,

And behind that causal body is our real self.

So when we say,

Aum,

Aum is our real self,

We see that,

And then first shanti,

We place it on the causal body.

Second is on the subtle body.

Third is on the physical body.

Okay,
