Balance Yin & Yang With Taoist Longevity Practice

With Helen Hansen

This course takes you through the longevity sequence known as 'The 8 Seated Brocades,' which was traditionally used by Taoist practitioners to strengthen immunity, expel illness, clear the mind, and calm emotions. We start by looking at the individual positions, and then we put the whole sequence together.

Lesson 1

Meeting The Positions That Have Been Practiced For Thousands Of Years

The Eight Seated Brocades - a longevity practice carried down through Traditional Chinese Medicine, done sitting, unhurried. In this first lesson, we go through the eight positions one at a time, so that you understand what each one is asking of the spine, the kidneys, the breath, and the meridians before you ever string them together. You will meet them by their original names as we go ... The Celestial Drum, The Crimson Dragon, The Celestial Pillar ... In lesson two, we will flow through the whole practice together.
