Permission To Rest Meditation For Overwhelm and Anxiety
Take a ten minute break. This meditation helps you to notice all the ways you put yourself under pressure, strive to be better and cause yourself stress and anxiety. It invites you to let go of any expectations of yourself and, just for now, rest and be still. It gives you permission to just be.
Transcript
Close your eyes and take a big breath in and as you sigh it out,
Feel yourself settling into the chair.
Take another massive breath in and just come to land.
Simply stop.
You have permission to rest a moment.
You have permission to not strive,
Not effort to be loved,
Be likeable,
Be acceptable.
You have permission to be your natural,
Free,
Spontaneous self,
Knowing you are lovable just as you are in this moment.
You have permission not to strive for success,
Achievement,
Being the best,
Winning.
You have permission to play at the game,
Enjoy it,
Enjoy the simple activity of taking part,
No expectation,
No pressure.
You have permission to not stand out from the crowd,
Not even be noticed.
You are enough,
Just being you.
You have permission to not need to know,
To not have the answers,
Not have done the homework,
Done the reading,
Done the background research,
To not know and just rest in that innocence and trust.
You have permission to break the rules,
To not even know the rules,
To do what feels right for you in your authentic,
Natural self.
You have permission to get it wrong,
To break away from the normal,
The expected,
The approved of,
Just be your free self,
Coming from love and joy and freedom.
You have permission to be vulnerable,
To know it is safe,
To be exposed,
To show your sensitivity and your pain and your fear.
You can trust you will be held,
You are safe.
You have permission to be angry,
To show your feelings fully,
Whatever they are,
Freely,
Naturally,
With energy and truth.
You have permission to be less than,
To not be perfect,
To have flaws,
To be wanting.
You are loved just as you are and you have permission to be still,
To just stop,
Rest,
Centre,
Open and feel,
Just stop and be still,
Just rest and breathe,
Nothing to prove,
Nothing to do,
Be still.
Give yourself an inner smile,
Feel the lightness of your just being and then taking a deeper breath,
You can bring your attention back to the room,
Open your eyes and continue your day.
