How Do We Stay Grounded In An Attention Hungry World?
The world wants our focus because when we forget who we are we can serve agendas other than our own. In this video I talk about how we can stay grounded and remember what it is that we truly want from life. Hopefully this may serve as a nudge for anyone that may be caught up in serving others to their own detrement.

How do we stay grounded in a world that pulls our attention into different directions all the time.
It's near impossible.
Their practices.
That help us to stay grounded.
There are practices that help us to stay here in the present moment so we're able to navigate through.
Navigate through the difficulty.
Of life.
I don't think there's anyone out there that will say life is easy.
I think even rich people,
Even people with lots and lots of money.
Have all the basic luxuries provided to them and they may have that aspect of their life sorted but In terms of.
.
.
Interpersonal development that's something that everyone has to go through it's something that everyone has to experience and and move through in life.
Whatever walk of life that you come from,
Everyone.
Has difficulties.
I think that because life is so fast paced nowadays with so many things drawing our attention in different directions,
It's really important that we.
.
.
Take part in practices that allow us to Be here in this moment.
Well,
I'm someone that has ADHD,
So as you can imagine.
.
.
My mind is very scattered all the time and i have to be really careful about the kind of foods i ingest the kind of the way I treat my body,
The way I treat my mind.
And.
.
.
Practices such as meditation really are a massive part of me being healthy as a person and allowing my mind to be stable and allowing me to be present.
Without the practice of meditation,
I think that I would be.
.
.
Lost if i'm being honest I think some people.
.
.
They just make it through each day.
They just survive.
They're operating in fight or flight mode all the time.
A really difficult way to live.
I certainly was.
That kind of person for a very long time I was just making it through each day And I thought that I needed to do more and I needed to accomplish more and I need to achieve success.
And once I got to,
I suppose,
The top of that mountain,
Then I'd be able to look out at the amazing view and look back at the journey I made and be proud of myself.
But I think sometimes.
.
.
It's not always about getting to the top of a mountain.
Sometimes it's about stopping.
On the journey and looking out where you are at this moment.
Because if you're just holding out hope,
For that view at the end.
You're just allowing happiness and.
.
.
The present moment.
To be a part of your life for a very small amount of it.
And I think that's the trap that a lot of people get caught up in.
We're trying to get to these places,
Trying to achieve certain things in order for us to feel OK.
Not a very wise way to operate.
I was that person for a very long time just chasing chasing chasing chasing.
I'm not saying that that journey wasn't important for me And that I could have just been grounded and not worked towards anything my whole life and just been this,
You know.
This person that goes off grid and just.
.
.
Ignores the world i also don't think that's a particularly Good way to operate.
I think that there needs to be a balance.
I think there needs to be A.
Movement towards our desires But also there needs to be moments of rest.
There needs to be periods of contemplation and reflection.
Without that,
It's going to be a very stressful journey.
So the message for this video is.
A reminder that.
.
.
If you're going through a tough time right now,
Try and find.
Feeling of now.
Stop for a moment look around you breathe notice everything around you notice how you're feeling,
Reflect.
And you might find that.
Once you bring that energy level from there down to there.
That your problems are slightly more manageable and you'll feel better within yourself overall.
So yeah,
That's my message for today.
Just a reminder that it's not always about getting to the top of the mountain.
It's also about the journey.
