Good morning and welcome to the artist's morning.
My name is Darius and today's guided meditation will be on the theme of courage and confidence.
To live a creative life,
To live a life where we feel expressed,
Will inevitably require you to come up to situations and systems that require you to dig deep and find courage,
Find the confidence to stand in your truth,
To share your voice.
Today's meditation practice will be exactly that,
Practice for us to connect to ancient,
Abundant source of confidence,
Courage,
And truth.
Let's begin our meditation now.
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to close them now.
And let's just take a moment to connect with our hearts and to feel what's here,
What's alive in this moment.
Let's land in our bodies and connect with our hearts.
Let's take three deep breaths now.
Breathing in,
Holding at the top and just letting it all go.
Keep breathing on your own,
Each breath getting a little deeper,
Each breath giving you more access and ease.
Following the breath from the tips of your lips or your nostrils down your throat,
Down your lung,
Into your heart and your heart space.
There's no right or wrong way to do my meditations,
But get that part out of your head.
You can't mess it up.
No end destination you need to get to.
Whatever's here for you now is in service of you.
I'd like to invite you to your spine now,
Sitting up gentle but tall,
Very gently bringing your shoulders back and opening your heart space just a little bit more.
If you pay attention,
There is strength,
Is confidence bridge in this posture.
No need to force it.
It's gentle,
But it's there.
Chin gently pointed up,
Glee in front of you.
You dear artists are ready to take on whatever the world throws at you.
Maybe there's anxiety inside,
There's fear,
There's doubt.
Wonderful to do anything with that.
Just let it be.
All spine,
Shoulders gently back open.
Chin is looking directly in front of you to take on whatever the world presents to you.
Remember that you come from a long lineage of survivors.
All of the things your ancestors had to go through,
Tens of thousands of years,
Ups and downs.
They made it through all of it.
Feel their strength now in your body.
You feel it in your spine,
Your chest.
Tens of thousands of years of ancestors.
Energy,
Their confidence,
Their courage stands behind you.
Maybe the connection is strong,
Maybe it's really subtle.
I miss you,
It's there.
Notice yourself attracting a little,
Getting smaller a little.
That's normal.
If you'd like,
All you need to do is remind yourself.
All spine,
Shoulders gently back.
Chin and eyes up and looking directly in front of you.
Whatever this day has in store,
Ready for it.
Confident you will remember is standing your side.
Sometimes the world can be a scary place.
Sometimes all we want to do is run away and that's okay.
To live a truly expressed life requires us to tap in to our truth,
To use our voice even when it shakes,
To stand up for our values,
For our people,
For our heart.
It's easy to dismiss the underdog,
The underdog,
Everything is stacked up against them.
Sometimes the powers that be play dirty.
It's the underdog that changes the world.
Rosa Parks who refuses to sit in the back of the bus.
Mahatma Gandhi that changes the lives of millions through peaceful actions.
The thousands of Iranian women risk their lives for basic human freedoms.
Can you feel the courage from all those before you to stand up for truth,
For life,
For freedom?
Confidence,
Strength come from within us and it can come from all around us,
From our ancestors,
From the cosmos,
From God,
From angels,
From the earth,
From all the brave underdogs.
Before us we are all connected to that energy.
This last song this morning I'm gonna stay quiet and allow you to go on a journey.
You could stay exactly here or see if there's another energy that has some wisdom,
Some insight about confidence and courage for you.
Bravo dear artist,
Bravo dear creator.
Wherever you went,
However far you traveled,
You made it to the end of the meditation and for that I am so grateful.
For those of you that are joining us live at the artist morning I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and allow us to do some private personal journaling.
If you're catching us on a replay of course you could do the same.
20 minutes on your own clock and see what's here and ready to express through you.
Thank you for meditating with me.
My name is Darius and I'll see you next time.
