In this contemplative video, we explore the subtle relationship between colour, consciousness, emotion, and inner atmosphere. Across many spiritual traditions, colour has often been viewed as more than visual appearance — carrying qualities that can influence the mind, body, nervous system, and emotional state. This video gently reflects on how different colours may evoke calmness, spaciousness, warmth, healing, contemplation, or inner stillness. Through quiet observation of nature, light, atmosphere, and human experience, this session invites you to explore colour not as rigid symbolism, but as a subtle language of feeling and awareness. This is not a guided meditation, but a reflective contemplative talk intended to support relaxation, presence, and deeper sensitivity to the atmosphere surrounding daily life. Topics include: - colour and emotional resonance - the nervous system and atmosphere - colour in nature and meditation - contemplative reflection and consciousness

Hello Ritz Pratica.

This video is inspired after some of the conversations that I had with the good souls who were attending some of the live meditation events that I have weekly.

On inside.

And um.

.

.

The conversation actually was around different colors and their meanings spiritually.

I know my spiritual master was very much focused on colour,

Particularly with the garments he wore in official functions.

He had a variety of favourite colours which he wore.

From memory,

Some beautiful yellows,

Some purples,

Pale blue,

Reds.

So I think they were the most colors that Guru wore.

A light pink is another one.

That's right.

Another light pink.

These were worn in the garments of the traditional Indian kurtas and dhotis.

So I'll put some notes together with regards to color and consciousness,

And that can be the name of the video itself.

So I'll just read from the notes that I'll put together.

My Spiritual Master approached color not merely aesthetically,

But as something expressive of consciousness itself.

Almost like an inner language of the soul.

Colours were treated as living qualities,

Connected with aspiration.

Emotion.

Spiritual movement.

Devotion.

Transformation and states of awareness.

What is valuable about that framework is that it allows colours to become visible.

Experiential,

Energetic and contemplative rather than simply decorative.

Colours can evoke a subtle emotional and spiritual atmosphere.

The mind and the body,

The nervous system,

Responds to.

Soft blue can quieten mental agitation.

Gold can evoke warmth or sacredness.

Green can feel restorative.

And brings abundance.

White can suggest openness,

Silence,

And purity.

Violet can evoke mystery or transcendence.

Not as fixed truths,

But as inner resonances many human beings intuitively feel.

How meditation spaces use color?

Why nature affects us emotionally?

And how dawn light changes one's perceptions.

Or how certain colours alter the felt sense of the body and mind.

Colour is an expression of consciousness.

I had a very dear friend,

A monk,

His name was Pranavanta.

He was a professor of art.

At the Sydney University in Australia.

And I remember I spent a lot of time in his apartment,

His studio,

And he did very large pieces of artwork,

Very beautifully done,

Very soulful.

Lovely colours.

He was asked by Guru to do the backdrop for the peace concert at the Melbourne Concert Hall.

It's a very large stage,

Probably about 15 meters wide and about a backdrop about four or five meters high.

So Pranavanda painted this beautiful tree of life.

It took him about a week and was beautiful,

Beautiful.

And Guru was very delighted and very happy with it because it had a lot of the colors that Guru personally chose in his own life.

So it was very meaningful.

Colors not merely sorry some examples associated with colors in Guru's books.

We've got blue.

And for vastness and spirituality.

White purity and divinity.

Green,

Confident,

New life.

Gold or yellow prosperity illumination offering.

Progress Tenderness Red Power Sacrifice Struggle violet or purple manifestation,

Orange sincerity,

Determination or renunciation.

Across spiritual traditions,

Colors are often seen as more than visual appearances,

But as a subtle language.

Affecting emotions.

Consciousness,

Memory,

And one's inner atmosphere.

Blue sky and ocean.

Spaciousness.

The golden sunrise,

Warmth and awakening.

Green forest.

Restoration.

White,

Clouds,

Lightness,

Openness,

Deep violet,

Twilight,

Mystery and transcendence.

Many traditions have sensed that colour carries an atmosphere that the body and mind responds to,

Not merely as visual experience,

But as something quietly physiological,

Emotional and spiritual.

Certain colours can calm the nervous system,

Others can energise,

Soften,

Uplift or deepen reflection.

A vast blue sky can evoke spaciousness and stillness.

The golden light of sunrise can awaken warmth and hope.

Or quiet reverence.

Green forests and fields often bring a sense of restoration and balance or space.

White can suggest openness,

Simplicity,

And silence.

Deep violet tones can evoke mystery,

Depth,

And contemplation.

Across cultures,

Spiritual traditions,

Art,

Nature and meditation,

Colour has often been used not simply for appearance but also for atmosphere.

And perhaps this is because the human beings do not respond only intellectually to life.

The body also responds,

Emotions respond,

And the nervous system responds.

Even without words,

Colour can influence mood,

Attention,

Memory,

And inner feelings.

So rather than seeing colour as something merely external,

May be possible to experience it as part of the subtle language through which life flows.

Communicates feeling,

Presence and consciousness.

Not as fixed meanings or rigid symbolism,

But as quiet inner resonances each person may sense.

For themselves.

And finally Perhaps color is not something that we only see with the eyes.

Perhaps it is also something that the body feels,

Senses,

And the mind and the central nervous system respond to,

And the heart quietly recognises.

So as we move through the world,

Gently notice the colours that bring calmness.

Openness warms.

Clarity or peace.

Notice how different atmospheres affect your inner state.

And becoming more aware of colour generally.

We also become more aware of consciousness itself.

Blessings to you.
