Emotional Processing of Fear & Fear of Dying
Allow Erin to guide you through emotional processing of fear and fear of dying. This meditation allows you to face and experience what so many of us fear. If you did not have fear in your life, how would you show up? Namaste.

Hello,
This is Erin Colleen Garrity from Thriving After Addiction.
Today I'm going to take you through processing fear,
Fear of death,
And grief.
I want you to breathe.
I want you to notice what's true for you in your body right now in this moment.
Establish that connection.
Make sure you're sitting comfortably or maybe laying down.
Make sure that you can surrender and let go.
So being in a safe,
Quiet,
And comfortable space.
Preparing yourself to go deep on the inside and let go of the parts that are not you.
Still breathing.
Feeling the body.
If the mind resists that connection with the body,
You can press your index and thumb together and just notice the sensation in your fingers.
Breathe,
Start bringing awareness to your feet and your toes.
Noticing that perhaps as you breathe,
You can feel the subtle energies moving through.
Grounding yourself so that we can do the work.
The energy moving up into your calves,
Shins,
And knees.
Allowing your body to be a vessel for the vibrations that we want to process.
Moving up and relaxing the thighs into the hips.
Bringing awareness to your pubic bone in the front and your sacrum in the back.
Notice how they connect front to back.
And then sending energy up into your hips,
Noticing,
Observing,
Becoming aware of all aspects of your body.
Bringing awareness into the belly,
Internal organs.
Softening,
Releasing,
Letting go of any past memories,
Letting go of any emergencies.
Right now,
You're here with yourself,
Allowing the universal energy to consciously flow through you.
I'm here to guide you.
Relax your rib cage into your shoulder blades and across the chest.
Allowing yourself to be loved,
To be accepted right here in the present.
And like a heavy sandbag is gently melting down over the tops of your shoulders,
You relax them down.
And when you do that,
The sides of the neck start to release a little bit.
This energy flows down into your arms,
Elbows,
Wrists,
Hands,
And fingers.
And then gently soothing up into your jaw across the face,
Letting go of any tightness,
Any restriction,
Any resistance.
Just allow my words to flow through you.
Allow the energy behind my words to start to sink in to your body.
Remembering that you are a vessel,
Your body is a temple.
You're not your mind,
You're not your body,
You're not your thoughts.
You're the energy,
The consciousness that's pulsing below the surface.
Notice your breath.
When you inhale,
Notice how your chest might lift up a little bit,
Your belly might move,
Your shoulders.
And then a slight pause at the top of the breath.
And as you exhale,
The breath leaves your body again.
And then when you're fully exhaled and deflated,
Notice that slight pause,
That stillness.
And again,
Inhale,
Notice how your body expands and accommodates that new energy.
The pause,
That moment of stillness.
And then exhaling,
Letting go of what once served you,
Detaching to create more space for that which does.
Continue breathing and just noticing your breath.
Your breath and your body are always present.
It's the mind that takes a sense of the future or the past.
You know this.
As you breathe and allow your body to become hollow,
Your bones to become hollow,
Just allowing yourself to be that vessel.
Notice any vibration that comes up,
Witnessing,
Observing,
Knowing that it is not you.
And then melting down into your core around the belly and the heart.
I want you to remember that this body fades,
This mind fades.
But there's constantly this pulsing consciousness that's swelling below the surface.
You are part of the ocean,
Consciousness expressing itself as a wave and then melts back down into the ocean.
You're never separate.
But that wave doesn't last forever.
Imagine yourself inside of the temple,
Looking around.
Letting you feel every vibration as you think,
As you speak,
As you act.
I want you to imagine that you're starting to age as you observe from the inside out.
You notice that your skin starts to become thin.
The shape of your face starts to change.
The texture changes.
And you start to notice your bones.
You start to notice that the muscles are becoming thin and stretched.
But you know that you can keep breathing at this point.
And you know that you're not your mind,
Body,
Or thoughts.
You're just memories coming and going,
But you're breathing.
You start to notice that when you peek up in the mind,
The light starts to dim.
You panic that comes up,
You remember,
You're that pulsing energy,
And you're just witnessing this body fade.
You are not that.
You start to hear the sound of your heart beating,
And you feel it.
You start to notice that it's slowing down.
Again,
If there's any panic,
You go back into the presence of your breath.
And back to the presence of the energy humming below the surface.
And you start to get a sense that you're supported,
You're safe,
And you're loved.
Even when you look around and everything's collapsing.
Even when you look around and your organs are starting to shut down.
You're so much more than that.
You keep observing the space,
Noticing your breath.
You start going closer to that sense of love.
The breath starts to slow down.
The heart starts to slow down,
And the mind is becoming a little dark.
And you feel everything is okay.
You're surprised maybe that there's a sense of peace that's humming below the surface.
You are eternal.
You are truth.
You are wisdom.
And you start to feel the liberation and freedom of shedding off the conditioning of your thoughts,
Of your beliefs.
Who would we be without these thoughts holding us back?
This body starts to shed and the heart taking its final beats.
You inhale.
One full last breath.
And exhale.
Just like when you were breathing before and there was stillness between the inhale and exhale.
That's just what it feels like.
It's satisfying.
There's space.
There's stillness.
There's this energy pulsing.
The body is fading.
There's skin and bones and organs,
But they're just kind of hanging,
Dripping off of you.
And it starts to become uncomfortable to be in the body any longer.
We're very much in that space of energy of consciousness.
So we find that the skin becomes very permeable and we can just kind of float through it.
It drags with us for a moment and then falls off.
You are freedom.
You are consciousness.
You are rejoined from where you really came.
And you allow this feeling of love to just pulse through you and you are love.
And you are compassion.
And you are clarity and wisdom.
You just know.
And you feel the consciousness of every living being.
And you feel the warmth and the safety of pure connection.
You are this.
When we shed off our body,
When we shed off what we are not,
This is the space that we are left in.
All the pain and suffering is gone.
Past the fear,
Past the grief.
We accept everything as it is.
There is no questioning.
There is no judgment.
Everything is neutral.
Without that resistance,
We have that love flowing through us.
Allow yourself to be in this space and knowing that anyone you have ever lost is now in this space of love,
Of compassion.
And they want the same for you.
They want you to feel this.
Remember who you are.
Namaste.

I have struggled with severe fear of death for most of my life. I’ve learned to work through the anxiety, and now I’m trying to learn to sit with the idea, that my body is mortal..this is exactly what I have been looking for, and I will likely repeat this daily for a while. Thank you so much for the love and gentleness here ❤️

Soothing and affirming. Peacefully addresses a scary subject (our death) that we’re used to relating to avoidantly—it offers a new way. I felt in touch my my essence and even purpose as this meditation concluded.

Very good, but it didn't match up with the title and description. Did something go wrong in uploading? Would love to hear the one about fear.
