Alison Potts

Alison is an accredited coach, movement and meditation teacher and teacher-trainer of twelve years' experience. She is the founder of Innate Meditation, which focuses on compassion-focussed and somatic practices that help guide people into their bodies, hearts and own internal wisdom. Alison was the first teacher in Australia to be certified in Instinctive Meditation (TM) by Lorin Roche, PHD. Her influences and training are scientific, experiential and spiritual. She finds particular value in the fields of Compassion-Focussed Therapies, Somatic Experiencing (TM) and CBT . Alison's journey with MS, which she has had all her adult life, has been her greatest teacher and inspiration and she has a particular interest in whole-person healing. Her greatest joy is to inspire people to love themselves as exactly as they are and from there, discover their love and passion for life in ways that add value for humanity as a whole.

This is a great course especially for those of us who purposefully did not look at our reflections in the mirror or were only critical when we did. I actually feel a sense of calm and belonging now instead of shame I am going to redo this course so that I can teach this to others as well. It’s been one of the best self compassion exercises I’ve done. Thank you so much for being here on insight timer.

Thank you Alison - this was excellent! I was in “overwhelm” in the middle of the night -worrying, overthinking and unable to sleep. The comforting embodied practices, the stretches to release tension, the mindful breathing techniques and gentle affirming phrases all contributed to calming my nervous system … and enabled me to go back to sleep in the middle of the night.
