Get Deeply Concentrated With Advanced Ajapa Japa

With Nivritti Yoga

The ability to consciously and deliberately, focus the mental energy on one thing for as long as we require, without being influenced by anything else, is concentration. Be it studying, a job, creativity, goal, or anything else, the ability to concentrate the mind at will enables us to channel all our efforts into our purpose and ignore meaningless irrelevant thoughts. Many pieces of research conducted in the field of modern positive psychology have concluded that being able to achieve high levels of concentration allows us to enter a state of flow, which makes the task both more enjoyable and more productive. Concentration in Sanskrit is called Dharana and is central to the philosophy of yoga. It is said that only in deep concentration can you discover the hidden depths of your spiritual nature. Concentration is like a muscle — the more you exercise it, the stronger it becomes. In this course, the meditation practice we will be delving into is called Ajapa Japa Dharana. It is a traditional Dharna practice to improve concentration. The word ‘Japa’ means ‘the continuous repetition of a mantra’. When the suffix ‘a’ is added, it implies that the process of mantra repetition becomes spontaneous. Ajapa Dharana is, therefore, one-pointed concentration on the spontaneous repetition of a mantra. In this, we use the breath and mental chanting, or repetition of mantras as a tool to develop concentration of mental energy. The origins of this practice can be found in ancient Indian Upanishads, like Yogashiksha Upanishad, its reference can also be found in the Gita. This course is a follow-up to the course, 'Regain The Lost Art Of Concentration With Ajapa Japa'. Here, we will do deeper and more advanced levels of Ajapa Japa meditation. As in the previous course, we will learn about some more tools and habits based on modern psychological research, that we can adopt in our daily lives to improve our ability to concentrate.

Tonight Everything went smoothly for me. I have to sometimes breathe in if I run out of air before I get to the base of the spine. I will adopt this meditation as long as I am alive. It is calming. It is relaxing. It is good for me as I’m ready to wind down for sleep at 9:25pm. The birds have flown south and north according to their habits. I eespecially like the Chai Breath in and out. It sounds just like our Pacific Ocean. Namaste. Linda

The course was helpful. I found that the longer sessions were most helpful. I think the stillness practice was what worked best for me as I am terrible at visualizing.

I realized I need time to allow my body to soften, and to allow my mind to calm down. Only then I am able to experience something. Right now I think I need about an hour to prepare. It's like a flower that opens slowly. 😄 I am practicing every day and I love interest to keep practicing it. Some days I am able to feel more the energy at the top of my head. There are also days when I feel some sexual energy 😆 Each time offers me different experiences. I am happy that I am practicing and very greatful that you put this course here. Love it ❤❤❤ Thank you very much.

Great recommendation to anyone who feels their head is too busy. The practice is sometimes hard because of your own mental barriers. Some days the ever raging thoughts in your head make it feel almost impossible to find the concentration needed. However, as you advance in this course you notice that it gets easier to focus on the visualizations of breath and prana. And maybe even more importantly, you learn to understand and accept that some days are easier then others. I gained so much understanding of how my mind and body works and how it benefits from friendly attention. Maybe not the main purpose of this course but certainly a very welcome side effect 🙏🏻😊 Thank you so much Sandeep, I hope my words give you an understanding of how much I appreciate your work. Namasté.
