Changing Your Inner Narratives 30 Day Challenge

On the back of the popularity of my free track of the same name, I have drawn together threads from my work over the years to weave into this course. The course aims to support you in rewriting your inner narratives to a more loving and upholding story, at a manageable and effective pace, enabling you to create a sustainable and impactful change for you. Our inner narratives hold such power over our experience of ourselves and of life, but also over our relationships, our impact through our work and our communities. This course will help you to actively connect to where you do have agency over the thoughts that pop up in your mind and get in your way. The course includes information, reflective pracice, guided visualisation and embodiment. You are invited to have a notebook and pen/s at hand throughout the process and please do share your experience in the comments (including the lesson it relates to if relevant).


Meet your Teacher

Bryony works with women and teams who are working for a better world, in particular women in research and Higher Education, and who often are overwhelmed by workload and care responsibilities. She works with them to develop a more anchored sense of self, override negative selftalk, find space to breathe, and show up in life in a way they dream of, so that they have a more positive experience of life, and have the impact in and for this world that they are striving for. Bryony is a highly trained coach, accredited as a Professional Certified Coach by the International Coaching Federation.

Lesson 1

The Path Ahead

This lesson introduces the concept of what we are going to work on here and how we are going to go about it, through an analogy - a story - to set the scene and explain a little about the work we will be doing along the way.

What You Want For Yourself

In this lesson, we are going to explore what you want to be different and what you are working towards. By focusing on one thing amongst that, you will have something key to work with and towards - creating a change that is important to you.

Lesson 3

Start From Where You’re At

Now, we come back to where you are at now and the inner critical narratives that you want to move away from, and are getting in the way of the change that you want to make happen. You will be clarifying what that narrative is and, through playful imagination, building up a clear picture of that unhelpful narrative and its impact.

Lesson 4

Opening Up Your Awareness

Today we extend the curiosity and check in with what new information you have. We will also look at the first stage of awareness beyond ‘Unaware’, which is ‘Awareness in Hindsight’, and why this is important. In line with my working principle of Awareness~Choice~Power, taking time to open up your awareness is crucial.

Lesson 5

Writing Your New Narrative

Here you get to clarify and open up your new, loving and upholding narrative that you are writing and bringing into your reality through this process. Again, using playful imagination, you will get to build a fuller picture and sense of that narrative and the impact it will have on and for you as it becomes ingrained into your being and your story.

Lesson 6

The Perspective A Narrative Gives You

We can look at the same thing from numerous perspectives. Each angle gives a different view, sometimes making things look completely different. In life, we get to choose the perspectives we take - about ourselves, other people and the world around us. Whatever your old and new inner narratives relate to is what we are looking at today, playing with the perspectives of those two different narratives on that topic and the impact they have on you. Lesson 7

Recognising Resistance

Resistance to change is a normal response within our brains. So, today we are going to recognise any resistance that is showing up for you in relation to changing your inner narrative, and consider what strategy you could use to turn the volume down on that resistance so that it doesn’t get in the way of what you are working towards.

Lesson 8

Developing Agency Within Your Brain

Today we are focusing on having agency over how your mind thinks, how your brain evolves and develops, and the beliefs it holds. By ‘being with’ this, we can power up our capability for creating this change and turn the volume down on the resistance a little more.

Lesson 9

Dealing With Doubt

Doubt can often take a different tone to resistance, or may be one element of resistance. Doubt is an incredibly common experience, especially when we are working in inner change and developing our agency, empowerment and taking charge of ourselves. In this lesson you will be invited to get curious about any doubt that is present in your mind and figure out what you want to do about it.

Nurturing The Landscape Of Your Mind

In line with the analogy of carving new pathways through natural landscape, in this lesson, we are going to explore the landscape of your mind as if it were a beautiful natural space, enabling you to connect with it in a different way, and understand what kind of care and tending to it needs.

Lesson 11

Connecting With Your Heartspace

In this lesson, I invite you to drop out of your head and into your heartspace, connecting with your loving and upholding belief from there…a place of love and deeper knowing, away from unhelpful and negative thoughts.

Lesson 12

Writing Your Narrative

This lesson will take you through a writing exercise. Writing allows us to connect with and process things in a different way to introspection. We will combine this with writing from a different perspective, to welcome in a deeper shift in your inner narrative.

Lesson 13

The Next Stage Of Awareness

We are going to think about shifting into the next stage of awareness in this lesson - Awareness in Hindsight - and understand more about this phase and how easy it can be to assume we aren’t making progress. There is a writing prompt at the end of the track.

Speaking Your Truth

Today, the invitation is to work on speaking your loving and upholding narrative - your truth - into being. Bringing playfulness in, in a way that works for you, you will be normalising this narrative for your brain and vocal chords.

The Journey So Far

You are half way through the challenge! In this lesson we acknowledge that and look to what has resonated with you most of all the work and tools used so far, so that you can look to making this shift sustainable.

Being Kind To The Inner Critic

Today, we are going to lovingly check in with the part of you that speaks the old, unhelpful narrative, being curious about what it needs and compassionate to its state of being. When we hold this part of ourselves with kindness, it's voice no longer holds the same authority over us.

Lesson 17

Sharing Your Journey

You have explored your change of inner narrative through introspection, learning, writing and visualisation so far. Today, I am inviting you in to talking about it - talking with someone safe about the shift you are going through. By sharing a narrative, we bring it into a wider existence. We are pack animals and constantly in relationship with others, so our growth relates to them too. It may be uncomfortable at first, but like walking a new path to make it easier, we need to say things a few times to find more ease with them.

Walking The Pathway

Today, you will be stepping into a guided visualisation to support the growing over of the old pathway - that of your unhelpful narrative you are moving away from - and the opening up of the new pathway that is the way of your loving and upholding narrative.

Working With Your Brain

In this lesson, we will be considering your relationship with your brain. It works so hard for you but isn’t always a friendly place. Like all relationships, we can improve things by connecting compassionately and working together.

Bringing Your Whole System In

Our mind and body are one system, so our thoughts, movements and physical state are deeply linked. In this lesson, we bring your body more into the conversation and inner change you are bringing about.

Rest For Your Mind

To be able to access more positive thought, our brains need restful and expansive spaces. If they don't get spaec and time to replenish, our less helpful inner voices become louder. So today you are invited into a space to let your mind decompress…

Facing Yourself

In this lesson you will be invited to really see yourself and acknowledge yourself. You will be taken through a practice of declaring your loving and upholding belief on another level. Declaring positive messages to ourselves is sometimes harder than to others. Today, you are invited to challenge yourself and commit to standing your ground for yourself.

Our Relationships With Others

As we grow, this ripples out into our relationships. So, today we consider the impact of this change on other people and your connections with them, and how that can be challenging and/or supportive.

Building Inner Positivity With Awe

In this lesson, you will be invited into experiencing awe - a state of being that supports positive thinking in life generally, so supports us in strengthening our loving and upholding inner narratives and quietening the unkind ones.

Ongoing Inner Negotiation

This lesson checks in with where you are at regarding your old, unhelpful narrative, whether it is still hanging around or not. This lesson is about being in reality that our brains will always look for the negative, in order to keep us safe and protected, but as conscious beings, we get to choose what we focus on. This will be work in progress throughout our lives.

Using the power of visualisation, you are invited into a place or time where you are living by your loving and upholding belief and witnessing the impact of that unfold. By practicing in this way, we aid the training of our mind to instill the beliefs we choose.

You have been working on this shift in and for yourself through a full moon-cycle. This track invites you into a reflection through the shifting you have gone through over that time, and what is different for you now

Root Deep

This track introduces my framework, Root Deep ~ Stand Strong ~ Branch Out, and invites you into using it to anchor yourself and claim a deeper, whole-being, stronger sense of self; as someone who chooses loving and upholding narratives for themselves and commits to that.
