An embodied check-in with yourself, your resources, and your body to remind you that you are beautifully created to find your way, navigate through challenges, and steer your course. Using the analogy of a boat, much like Bryony uses a tornado in her track 'Finding Calm in the Centre of the Storm', to help you find a way to trust yourself more and remember just how capable you are.

Inspired by one of the wonderful humans I get to work with,

This is trusting yourself to ride the waves.

A guided visualization to take some time to connect with yourself,

To remind yourself that you are trustworthy,

That you will find your way.

So I'd like to invite you into stillness.

Allow your body to settle in to sitting or laying down or standing maybe.

Notice the parts of you that are touching the floor or furniture.

Notice how they're holding you.

If you've been feeling off balance within yourself or knocked by external forces,

Taking this time to check in is a great way to remind ourselves that we can allow that water to ripple underneath us as much as it would under a boat.

We might be knocked off keel for a while,

But we're built to self-adjust with time.

Sometimes that takes longer than others.

Different boat shapes have different benefits,

Different strengths,

Different limits.

So going with that,

I ask you to imagine from your hips some swaying,

Perhaps like a boat.

Notice that ability to rock and sway from this center point of power in your body.

Our hips are capable of incredible force,

Reckoning,

Power,

Holding,

And they deserve so much love and care.

And they deserve so much love and care.

I invite you to remember how wonderfully you're built with all your unique imperfections.

You are exquisite.

And your body,

Your whole being,

Is built to adjust to the currents,

To the weather systems,

And some of those can give us an absolute battering.

Finding that calm after a storm is so important.

Being able to call out Mayday,

SOS,

And ask for help is so important.

So I invite you to check in with your resources,

With your ability to ask for help.

With your ability to be able to float,

To ride the waves,

To navigate and negotiate your direction.

That negotiation is between your resources,

And your knowing,

And your being with those external forces.

Life is an adjustment of the sails,

Making decisions and then checking in that they still apply.

Times of calm waters,

Times of raging seas,

Times of never-ending cloud,

Times of absolute beauty.

You are an incredible vessel on a journey,

So is this for you a time to set sail on an adventure?

Or maybe it's a time of putting down your anchor and floating for a while.

Or maybe you're facing some weather right now that's bringing a challenge.

I invite you to trust yourself as much as you're able,

Whichever of these is where you're at.

Whichever of these is where you're at.

I invite you to put your hand on your heart.

You are navigator,

Captain,

Crew.

On this boat you get to negotiate the rules,

The way things are done.

You have leadership and an ability to find your way.
