COURSE
With Alta Lourette
Anger is one of the most misunderstood emotions we experience. Many of us have been taught to suppress it, fear it, or feel ashamed of it. Others find themselves overwhelmed by it, reacting in ways they later regret. But anger itself is not the problem. Like every emotion, it has something important to tell us. In this five-day course, you'll learn how to change your relationship with anger through the practice of mindfulness. Rather than trying to eliminate anger, you'll discover how to observe it with curiosity, understand the messages it carries, and respond with greater awareness instead of reacting automatically. Each day builds on the last. You'll begin by learning to recognise anger as it arises, then explore how it shows up in the body, uncover the more vulnerable emotions that often lie beneath it, practice creating space between your triggers and your responses, and finally cultivate compassion for yourself when difficult emotions arise. Drawing on mindfulness, psychology, and neuroscience, this course combines practical theory with guided meditations that help you develop emotional awareness and resilience in everyday life. Whether your anger appears as frustration, impatience, resentment, or quiet irritation, these practices will help you meet it with greater understanding rather than judgment. You don't need any previous meditation experience, only a willingness to become curious about your inner world. By the end of this course, you won't necessarily feel less anger. Instead, you'll have developed the ability to meet anger with calm awareness, wise choice, and self-compassion. Because true peace isn't found by never feeling difficult emotions, it is found in learning how to be with them.
