Another fantastic & useful course, as all of your courses are! It was really enlightening to consider my thoughts as just being responses that I’ve learnt, & I found that also removed some of their power. It was also fascinating to understand the mind better & how anxiety is created & the process of it, that feels empowering but is also really interesting, particularly how our mind attempts to match things (& I loved the example you gave of the Pairs Game, I remember playing that as a child!). You explained all that very well & in such an accessible way. And I liked your tip that the feeling of anxiety is actually a notification from our bodies that we have some untrue thinking, & I've found that a different & far more useful way to look at it, & also to leave the feeling/energy alone (don’t pick it, tee hee!) & it will pass, & seeing it as temporary & passing reminded me of a very early talk of yours when you said that mood is like the weather as it changes every day. One of the 'lightbulb' moments for me (& there are some in all of your courses which is what makes them so wonderful, as you explain things in such a clear & yet unique manner) was when you spoke about our attitude to our feelings of happiness compared to our attitude to our feelings of anxiety, as I realise now that I don’t over-analyse feelings of happiness or try to search for reasons why it has occurred or wonder how long it will last (as I do with feelings of anxiety), so I will aim to view moods of anxiety in the same relaxed way I view feelings of happiness. Thank you for this wonderful course, explained so well & with such fresh ideas to prompt us to view things from a different angle. Really valuable & highly recommended!
