Such a fascinating & insightful course, thank you! But omg, were your ears burning, Clare, as I could not believe how loud my Monkey Mind/Inner Critic was in dismissing all you said, particularly that we can rest without needing to get all the tasks crossed off! It was actually really really interesting to observe it, but it took me a while to realise what was happening & I’m so very grateful that you mentioned in the first day that our Monkey Mind/Inner Critic would likely be arguing with what you were saying as I think it was only from your reminder of this that I managed to grasp what was going on, & alarmingly I think if it was anyone else’s course apart from yours (as I love your courses & your wisdom) then I wouldn’t have continued with the course, which really shocked me when I realised the power of the Monkey Mind/Inner Critic! I will now be much more aware of its power going forward. But I did find it so interesting that that happened & that (thanks to you) I now have the ability to observe it & realise what is happening, thank you! There were so many takeaways/lightbulb moments from your wonderful course. Such as you saying that it can sometimes seem like a boxing ring with life in one corner & work in the other corner & they battle it out, & your suggestion of stepping away from the computer/task often allows ideas to come forward and that we are often more effective when we slow down (I have now written those words on a piece of paper & stuck it to the top of my computer!), that we often use control to feel safe, not to make downtime just part of the schedule, & that it’s good to identify the feeling & watch it pass rather than trying to fix it, & so many more really invaluable insights! Thank you for such a great course (and one that I will listen to again, as I’m sure I also missed a few things with my Monkey Mind/Inner Critic bellowing so loudly!)
