Mindfulness, Meditation & Source Consciousness #3

With Debra Hall

Guiding you on a methodical journey with Mindfulness and Meditation through to the Heart of Source Consciousness itself. It is thorough and interactive with the overall aim to assist you in building a strong personal practice. It is divided into manageable courses. We explore mindfulness methods that can be brought into the existing activities and rhythms of your daily routine. These are Mindful Eating, Mindful Walking, and Mindful Communication. They can fulfill part or all of your daily practice without you having to create extra time for them. You are also introduced to a secular Mindfulness Method for dealing with challenging emotions, called The R.A.I.N Method. By the end of the course, you will be clear and confident about using all of these methods, and where they might fit into your other daily 'Mindfulness Muscle' strengthening practices.

Lesson 1

Mindful Eating

This lesson introduces you to the idea of strengthening your 'Mindfulness Muscle' within the context of your normal, everyday activities. To begin with, we explore Mindful Eating as a way to stay present and increase your enjoyment of it. You are guided through the ‘raisin exercise’ as a way to illustrate what a multi-sensory experience eating can be.

Lesson 2

Mindful Walking

We explore how walking can be a strong and enjoyable support, especially if walking is already part of your daily routine or you would like it to be. You learn everything you need to bring presence, pleasure, and peace to your walks, how to make your walking mindful, and how to bring in detail to increase its strength as a support. There is a creative prompt to journal with at the end of the lesson to help you establish a deeper relationship with your walks.

Lesson 3

Mindful Communication

Because successful communication is so dependent, not just on what is said, but on the warmth and care it is done, Mindful Communication is also a way of developing your ‘Heartfulness.’ In this lesson, we look at simple, practical solutions to create new ground in communication and use the 'shark stick' as an example of how to do this with humor.

Lesson 4

Meeting Difficult Emotions With The R.A.I.N Method

As part of your ongoing mindfulness training, we explore the necessity of having something strongly supportive to diffuse difficult emotions when they arise. The R.A.I.N Method is a popular Secular Mindfulness tool that does this. In the lesson we explore what happens to our brain chemistry when we are emotionally aroused, the difference between emotions and feelings, and how to use the R.A.I.N. Method.

Lesson 5

Gathering Up To Go Forward

In the final lesson, we gather up to go forward by recapping all the main learning points from each lesson of this course and also bring in some extra reflections. This helps to consolidate the Mindfulness modules before we move on to using the breath as the main support and transition from solely focusing on Mindfulness to including Meditation in module four.
