Trauma Informed Yoga Nidra - Step 1: Cultivating The Inner Resource

With Jacqueline Toomey

The foundation of trauma-informed Yoga Nidra begins with cultivating your Inner Resource: a deeply personal experience of safety, comfort, strength, or ease that supports nervous system regulation and serves as an anchor throughout your practice. In this course, you'll first learn what the Inner Resource is, why it plays such an important role in trauma-informed meditation, and how it helps create a greater sense of stability, resilience, and embodied safety. Next, you'll be guided through a reflective journaling exercise using gentle self-inquiry to identify memories, places, people, experiences, or qualities that naturally evoke feelings of security, connection, and ease. Finally, you'll experience a guided somatic mini Yoga Nidra meditation that invites you into a state of deep rest while helping you access, strengthen, and embody your unique Inner Resource. What you'll gain: - Understand the purpose of the Inner Resource in trauma-informed Yoga Nidra. - Discover personal sources of safety, comfort, and support through guided self-reflection. - Develop greater awareness of your body's signals of regulation and ease. - Experience a deeply restorative somatic meditation that helps cultivate an embodied sense of safety. - Build a foundation for future Yoga Nidra practices by establishing a reliable internal anchor you can return to whenever needed. This course is designed to meet you where you are, offering invitations rather than expectations, so you can explore the practice at your own pace with curiosity and self-compassion.
