Jacqueline Toomey co-created the internationally taught First Responder Sleep Recovery Program in 2016. To date, Jacqueline has trained over 5,200 first responders across 19 states and 3 Canadian provinces. She received her B.A. from Regis University, completed master-level coursework in education at Metro State University, and trained in Nutrition Therapy. As a Yoga Alliance E-RYT certified instructor with over 1,000 certification hours, she integrates somatic practices, adaptive movement, breath work, and trauma-informed meditation. For 10 years, Jacqueline volunteered at Craig Hospital, teaching adaptive yoga & meditation to individuals in wheelchairs, survivors of spinal cord & traumatic brain injury. This work shaped and inspired her. Jacqueline began practicing yoga at 14 & began teaching at 18 in 2004. She is an experienced Yoga Alliance Continuing Ed Provider, known for her practical, science-based approach to somatic stress recovery. Jacqueline is an avid writer, with her first book soon to be publshed! Her work can be found in Fire Engineering Mag., Firefighter Nation, Crackyl Mag., and Elephant Journal. Her efforts have been featured on Denver 9 News, Denver Fox News, multiple Las Vegas news networks, and was recently spotlighted in the VOX mini-documentary "State of Wellness" in partnership with Fitbit. She will also be featured in the upcoming firefighter documentary Spoke. In her personal time, you can find her dancing, paddling, rescuing animals, & hiking!
