Welcome to this simple two-minute breathing practice. Its origin is Sheetali Pranayama, also known as Cooling Breath. It is a breathing practice that effectively cools the body, the mind, and emotions. Sheetali comes from the Sanskrit root sheet, which means “cold” or “frigid.” Sheetal translates roughly as "that which is calm, passionless, and soothing." Enjoy this short, simple, Sheetali breathing practice to reset your state of being from which you operate from in your day to day life.

Transcript

Bring your awareness to the breath,

The natural,

Spontaneous,

Effortless breath.

And as you breathe,

Inhale through the nose and exhale through hearted lips as if blowing through a straw.

Breathing in through the nose,

Out through slightly pursed lips,

Feeling the breath leave you like a cool wind,

Calming and settling the body.

As you breathe in,

Feel the lungs fully and exhale through pursed lips completely.

Continue to breathe like this.

Breathing in through the nose,

Out through slightly pursed lips,

Out through slightly pursed lips,

Out through slightly pursed lips,

Out through slightly pursed lips,

Out through slightly pursed lips,

Out through slightly pursed lips,
