Healing Chronic Symptoms With Somatic Tracking

With Miriam Amavi

Do you struggle with chronic pain, anxiety, digestive issues, or persistent fatigue- even when medical tests don’t show a clear cause? You are not alone, and this course helps you to understand and gently transform these symptoms. It combines nervous system work, mind–body approaches, and somatic practice to offer a healing path that helps your body and brain unlearn chronic symptoms. Through Somatic Tracking, you will learn to guide your attention gently and curiously to bodily sensations, connect them with a sense of safety, and break the fear–symptom cycle. You will discover what neuroplastic symptoms are: real sensations that arise not from structural damage but from a nervous system stuck in a learned “danger mode,” often triggered by stress or overwhelming experiences. These symptoms are real and impactful, yet they stem from neural pathways that can be reshaped, reduced, or even fully resolved through somatic work. With guided meditations and practical exercises, you will learn to signal safety to your nervous system, process emotions mindfully, and cultivate self-compassion as a key part of healing. The exercises are designed for regular practice, helping you build a sustainable routine — because lasting change takes time and repetition, not a quick fix. This course is ideal for anyone looking for a gentle, yet profound approach to understanding, soothing, and transforming chronic symptoms, so you can feel more at home in your body and life.

Meet your Teacher

Miriam Amavi is a trauma-sensitive somatic teacher, podcaster, membership host and certified in Applied Polyvagal Theory in Yoga for Trauma Recovery. She is currently completing her training in Somatic Stress Release with Scott Lyons at the Embody Lab. For many years she struggled with anxiety and chronic symptoms, accompanied by the belief that something was wrong with her. Only through somatic work and her deep interest in the nervous system did she realize that her symptoms and emotions were not enemies but expressions of a body trying to protect her. She learned to understand the language of her body and to relate to stress and intense emotions in a way that does not overwhelm but connects. This led to a deep and loving relationship with herself and a noticeable reduction in anxiety and physical discomfort. Today she supports others on this path with warmth and compassion, helping them build more capacity in their nervous system and process emotions somatically without needing to fix or push themselves.

You will understand how this helps interrupt the fear symptom cycle and how symptoms can gradually lose intensity over time. You will also receive an overview of the types of ailments typically associated with mind–body symptoms and how Somatic Tracking is applied in practice. Lesson 2

Somatic Tracking Practice – Connecting Symptoms With A Sense Of Safety

In this lesson you will be guided through a Somatic Tracking meditation. Together we gently and curiously bring awareness to bodily sensations, without resistance and without trying to change them. This helps the nervous system learn to associate symptoms with safety rather than alarm. The practice supports you in experiencing your body as a safe place again and helps the brain gradually unlearn the symptoms. Music: Epidemic Sound Dulcian - Anders Schill Paulsen

Lesson 3

Why Feeling And Processing Emotions Is Essential For Healing

Chronic symptoms often have deeper roots: suppressed or unexpressed emotions. At the same time, symptoms themselves can trigger strong feelings. This lesson is about understanding this interaction — how emotions influence physical symptoms and how symptoms, in turn, affect our emotional state, and why it is so important to direct attention not only to the symptoms but also to the emotions underneath. The aim is to build awareness of how suppressed feelings manifest in the body and how they impact the nervous system. Music: Epidemic Sound Dulcian - Anders Schill Paulsen

Lesson 4

Emotional Tracking Practice – Feeling The Emotions Beneath The Symptoms

In this emotional tracking meditation, we shift attention from the symptoms themselves to the underlying emotions. Instead of fighting the physical discomfort, space is created to mindfully feel the suppressed emotions, give them room, and process them. This allows the nervous system to move out of alarm mode, and over time, physical symptoms can decrease.

Am excellent course developing her others and really bringing concise and powerful exercises to rewrite the brain with somatic tracking. Very grateful for this and very much appreciate the effort to separate out the practices so they are easy to return to.
