A short somatic grounding practice for moments when you feel stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Using deep breathing (physiological sigh) and gentle touch, you’ll connect with your surroundings through texture to signal safety to your nervous system and help it shift out of survival mode, into calm. You can do this practice anywhere, even when you are on the go! Music: Epidemic Sound Relief - Ever So Blue

I invite you to take a deep breath in into your lower belly and then once you feel like you're full up with air just take one little sip more through your nose and then breathe everything out through the mouth and then once you're ready you can take another deep breath in through the nose into your lower belly and once you feel like you're full with air just take one little sip more and breathe everything out through the mouth and once more we're taking one deep breath in through the nose and your belly grows like you're blowing up a balloon and once you're full with air you can take one more sip through the nose and let everything go through the mouth and all your muscles relax and now I invite you to touch some of the surfaces and objects around you with your fingertips just gently explore the texture and really put all your attention in your fingertips perhaps you're touching your clothes or blankets that may be around you cushions or even a tabletop plants if you're outside or even your bag if you're on the go whatever you can reach just put your attention on what you can feel as you explore these objects and surfaces with your fingertips explore if it feels soft or prickly smooth or rough if it's even or uneven and assess its temperature and if you feel like your hands are moving pretty quickly see if you can slow it down and see if you can notice even more details how does it feel in your fingertips to touch these things do you feel any tingling or warmth and just allow yourself to settle here perhaps come back to these deep breaths and this helps signal safety to our nervous system which shows our bodies and our brains that it is safe to come out of the survival mode and calm down and if you want to do longer nervous system regulation meditations and even courses to really settle and soothe your nervous system check out my profile I'm Miriam Amavi and I'm sending you so much warmth and support
