Get ready for an eye-opening journey through the timeless teachings of Shiva's Vigyan Bhairav Tantra Part 16! This ancient text reveals meditations 86-90 of the 112 transformative techniques designed to cultivate love, awareness, and deep self-understanding. In this course, we’ve reimagined these techniques into practical 15-minute audio sessions, perfect for your daily practice. Each guided meditation incorporates breathing techniques rooted in Anapanasati, leading you on a profound Vipassana-inspired inner exploration. Additionally, we introduce self-observation methods to help you dissolve illusions and deepen awareness. Step into the sacred dialogue between Lord Shiva and Devi (Parvati), where Shiva shares powerful, direct methods for self-realization—each one a doorway into profound inner transformation. These techniques are compact yet potent, like seeds that, when contemplated, bloom into deeply effective meditation practices. Designed for everyone, they transcend traditional spiritual boundaries, offering a universal path to self-discovery and inner peace. These meditations are the base of all the types of meditations that exist in our world (basically, all meditations are taken from these 112 techniques). This is Part 16 of 20. Lesson 1

Introduction To Meditation: Beyond Not Being – You

This meditation is an invitation to explore the uncharted territory beyond the senses—beyond seeing, grasping, and even being. Drawing from the 86th meditation of the *Vigyan Bhairav Tantra*, it challenges us to set aside all familiar images, thoughts, and concepts to discover something profoundly subtle: the self that cannot be known as an object. Our minds naturally cling to the known—what we’ve seen, touched, or imagined. But this practice asks us to uncreate, to consciously release each thought, each symbol, each mental construct, until only awareness remains. In this empty yet vibrant space, we no longer perceive objects but turn inward to the very source of perception. It is here, when everything perceptible has been discarded, that the self reveals itself—not as something to be known, but as the very act of knowing. This is not knowledge in the traditional sense, but a direct experience of being, undivided and pure. The meditation guides us into a realm where the separation between knower and known dissolves. It is a sacred return to the essence of awareness itself—a movement of energy recognizing itself, beyond all boundaries. In this realization, we encounter our true nature: ungraspable, unchanging, and whole.

Lesson 3

Introduction To Meditation: I Am Existing

This meditation, inspired by the 87th verse of the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra, invites practitioners into a profound and direct encounter with the truth of existence through the simple statement: “I am existing.” More than a mantra or concept, this phrase points toward the living, felt presence of being — a truth that lies beneath thoughts, identities, and external pursuits. The practice is not about thinking but sensing, not about doing but being. It guides us to drop the mental noise, to become still and silent, and to feel into the raw aliveness of our body, breath, and awareness. In this state, thoughts become distant and irrelevant, and we experience the purity of existence without effort or judgment. As we rest in this spacious presence, the boundaries between self and other dissolve, and a sense of unity with all of life emerges. The experience becomes one of bliss — not something added, but something uncovered when we remember who we are at our core. This introduction opens the doorway to a transformative shift: from identifying with thoughts to embodying being itself. It’s a return to the source, where simply existing becomes the most sacred and intimate act of all.

Lesson 5

Introduction To Meditation: Knower And Known

This meditation introduces a profound journey into the nature of perception, where the separation between the knower and the known begins to dissolve. It invites practitioners to look beyond ordinary sensory experience and discover the subtle relationship between awareness and the objects of perception. Using the simple act of observing a rose, the meditation illustrates how meaning is not inherent in objects alone but is born through the act of knowing. This exploration is not an intellectual exercise but a transformative experience—one that shifts the meditator’s focus from a one-directional awareness of the object to a balanced presence that includes both the object and the one who knows it. As the practice deepens, a powerful insight arises: the knower and the known are not separate, but two aspects of a unified field of awareness. This leads to the realization of the witnessing self—the silent, unchanging observer behind all experiences. In this space, dualities such as inner and outer, self and other, dissolve into unity. The meditation gently guides the practitioner toward this state of Samadhi, a state of deep presence and oneness, revealing the interconnected nature of reality and inviting a sense of peace, clarity, and liberation from the illusion of separation.

Lesson 7

Introduction To Meditation: Be Included

This introduction invites students into a profound meditative practice centered around *inclusion*—a way of experiencing the self and the world as a seamless whole. It begins by identifying how the mind habitually fragments reality, separating body from breath, thoughts from sensations, and self from surroundings. The practice presented challenges this fragmentation by dissolving boundaries and embracing the totality of experience. Instead of isolating any single element during meditation, the invitation is to include everything: breath, body, mind, and even the outer world, allowing them to merge within the field of awareness. As this inclusion deepens, practitioners may notice shifts in their sense of self, including the sensation of the body becoming boundless or dissolving altogether. This reflects a growing awareness of the fluid, interconnected nature of existence. Drawing from ancient wisdom, including insights from mystic Ramteerth, the text emphasizes that the universe resides within us—not as metaphor, but as a direct experience of consciousness. Through this practice, students move beyond the ego and the illusion of separateness, stepping into a space of unity and expansive awareness. Ultimately, the technique leads to freedom from limitation, inviting practitioners to experience themselves as one with all that is.

Lesson 9

Introduction To Meditation: Touching Eyeballs

This meditation introduces a subtle yet profound technique from the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra that centers on the eyes—our primary channel for connecting with the world. By gently placing your palms over your closed eyelids and touching the eyeballs with the softness of a feather, you are invited to shift energy inward, away from external distractions. The eyes, often seen as the windows to the soul, are also mirrors of our fatigue, stress, and overstimulation. This practice helps redirect the energy that typically flows outward through the eyes back into the heart, creating a sense of deep calm, lightness, and emotional clarity. Suitable for both beginners and seasoned meditators, this method requires no preparation—only presence and sensitivity. It acts as a reset for those feeling drained, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Through this light touch, a gateway opens between the body, the heart, and the cosmos, offering a tangible experience of renewal. As energy flows back into the center of your being, you reconnect with your vitality, spaciousness, and joy. Accessible anywhere and anytime, this meditation is a simple yet powerful tool to restore balance and presence, allowing you to step back into life refreshed and attuned to the infinite within and around you.
