Move Into Meditation

Sometimes we start a meditation practice but we cannot get comfortable, our mind is not still, we feel too busy. This course will use gentle yoga poses to ease your body and mind into a state ready for meditation. You will experience five days of moving meditation beginning with yoga and easing into the meditation practice. Each day will have a new theme which will build your practice gradually.


Meet your Teacher

Abby Turner is an E-RYT 500 and YACEP certified yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. She specializes in making yoga possible for all bodies. Abby believes that everyone, regardless of age, body type, or ability, can benefit from yoga. Abby has been teaching yoga for over 10 years and has taught over 2,000 hours of classes and private yoga instruction all over the world. Her students know that she is focused on how to relieve pain, teach modifications, and adapt yoga to each body.

Lesson 1

Get Grounded

Today, we will get acquainted with our feet, stretch and strengthen the legs, and treat your body to a rejuvenating rest before you sit to meditate. Consider this a reorientation to your foundation.

Lesson 2

Connect to Your Core

Work on strengthening your core with a few standing yoga postures which will help you to feel the relationship between your core and steadiness. As you do the asanas, place your attention on your belly as you breathe. This will help you to breathe deeper.

Lesson 3

Get Clear

Today, you will spend time opening your hips, hamstrings, front body, and side body. This will free up space for energy to flow, helping your organs function optimally for greater mental clarity and endurance.

Lesson 4

Open Your Heart

Today, practice moving your attention into your chest and heart space where you receive and give love. By moving your wrists, collar bone, and upper lungs, you are flushing toxins out of the joints and allowing your body to come into balance.

Lesson 5

Experience Insight

In this final day, we will build on the foundational practices we've done thus far to enjoy robust breathing, a free mind, and a bird's eye view with a light heart.
