It is lovely to meet you at the end of your day.
To make the most of this and to really intentionally shift into a restful and replenishing place and state,
Make sure you're lying down in the place where you will rest for the night.
I invite you to take a moment to clench up the muscles in your body really tight and then release and release a bit more and then again clenching the muscles up including your face,
Your arms,
Your hands,
Your buttocks,
Your thighs,
Your belly,
Your legs,
Your toes and then release and release a bit more and release a bit more and then listening to your body and where any tensions remain,
Stretch out those parts of you simply starting with one place that wants to release and ease into a stretch.
Then follow your body to find the next part of you that is calling for a delicious stretch.
Easing it out,
Really inviting in that stretch and then the next part of your body.
Stretching it out in the way that it is yearning for.
Tracing that pathway of tension and that journey of invited release and allowing your body that expansion.
Taking your time until your body is ready enough to let go as much as it is able to today.
Ready to settle in to comfortable stillness.
Now I invite you to notice how you are landing into this sleep space.
Where is the resistance in your body?
What is it still trying to get done?
Wherever that resistance or doing energy is still sitting,
Place a loving hand there to support that part of you to slow down and release a little more.
It is so easy for our bodies and our minds to stay in doing mode,
To hold on to that doing energy which becomes tension when we don't give it permission to stop and release.
Right now there is nothing for your body and mind to do.
The most productive thing you can do now is rest and replenish.
So let's help your mind to shift into a more restful place too by reflecting lightly on the day.
Notice what is present in your mind.
That thing that your mind just won't put down.
What's important to you about that?
What is challenging,
Exciting or needs resolving about it?
Is now the time to resolve it?
No.
So how do you want to hold it in this moment?
By letting go of it in this moment,
You still have agency to pick it up again tomorrow if you choose.
If you completely trusted that,
That you could put it down and still have agency to pick it up whenever you choose,
What would be different about this rest that you are easing yourself into right now?
Okay,
So I invite you to imagine that that thing you could really do with letting go of right now,
So that you can rest well,
Is an object or animal.
There's no right or wrong here,
Whatever you could imagine it to be.
Now imagine yourself putting that object elsewhere for the night or releasing that animal into the night,
Whether to prowl or to go and take its own rest.
So that you can give yourself some space from it right now.
In this moment,
In this place,
Your care and consideration is required just for you.
So coming away from the to-do lists and back to you and your being,
I invite you to lightly pay attention to the edges of your being,
Of your body.
And then bring that attention into yourself and notice that there is space within.
Breathe into that space.
Notice the calm in there.
The inviting energy of rest and replenishment.
It may be a light.
It may be beautiful darkness.
Or maybe energy or vibration.
However you experience it,
Keep on breathing it into your inner space.
And as you keep on nourishing it with your breath,
Allow that calmness to flow throughout you.
Through the whole of your core,
Your torso,
Down your legs,
Along your arms,
Up through your neck and into your head.
Notice this beautiful spaciousness seeping between your cells.
Between any thoughts that may be floating around.
Give it full permission.
Marinate in it.
Let the pleasure in.
The pleasure of this luscious place of restfulness where absolutely nothing is expected of you.
This is the most productive thing you can do and be right now.
So keep on drifting into it.
Letting the whole of your deeper,
Wisest self do its thing.
Your exquisite being has you held.
Give it the space it needs to replenish.
And just trust.
