I'm going to share a practice with you that is incredibly simple and it's a practice that you can use when your nervous system is heightened in emotion or feeling panicky.
You can use it to help you ground yourself and anchor yourself in presence in this moment and of course you can use it to help you focus.
So for this you can be standing,
Sitting,
Lying down,
Whatever,
But I do invite you to find some balance,
As much ease as you're able to in whatever position you're choosing to listen to this track in so that your body and your system doesn't have to pay too much attention to keeping you in stillness and taking a breath really to bring you into simplicity and it's up to you if you want to keep your eyes open or close them but I invite you to soften your gaze at least if you're keeping your eyes open again so that your system isn't dealing too much with other stimulus and bringing yourself into a place of listening and curiosity I invite you to take your thumbs and your forefingers on each hand and bring them together so in your left hand your thumb and your first finger come together and the same on your right hand and keeping the contact light use your thumb and forefinger to feel the fingerprint on the other one you'll need to move your finger and thumb around a little to feel the ridges of your unique fingerprints and drop out of your head and allow all your curiosity you're listening to go into your thumb and forefingers right to the pads and it's almost like your thumb and your finger are reading like someone might with reading braille and just notice that's all you need to do is just notice so you can use this as I say to ground you you can use it to refocus if you're struggling to keep your concentration in one place if you keep getting distracted you can use it to calm you and you can use it as a practice to build your system's ability to stay in focus so simple and it just brings concentration in for me so I hope that it's useful for you
