Meet your Teacher

Ed Fox is the founder of the MindBody Awakening curriculum, speaker, meditation teacher, and stress and trauma coach who has touched the lives of thousands of people searching for emotional and spiritual freedom. When Ed was 21 he had a radical spiritual awakening and was encouraged by his teacher, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, to share meditation world wide. He went on to study with Don Miguel Ruiz to learn the Toltec traditions of letting go of the dream of negative beliefs and went on to incorporate meditation with relief from stress, anxiety, and ptsd. With over 40 years of teaching experience Ed has cultivated a program where he connects the essential energy of our pure being, ancient meditation traditions, and mindfulness, to create a safe and supportive atmosphere for learning how to empower oneself and thrive in a complex world. At the core of Ed's teaching is the idea that we don’t need to accumulate knowledge to be happy and fulfilled. All the resources that we need is already within us waiting to be released. We only need to know how to create the unique environment that uncovers not only inner being but also our natural ability to heal ourselves.

Lesson 1

The Four Questions About PTSD That Need To Be Considered And Felt

In this discussion Ed proposes 4 questions that you might have already asked yourself, or not, that begin the inner inquiry of healing your ptsd with a deeper understanding of your own process and how you hold your ptsd condition within you. These questions can reveal to you, your mindset, and the wounds that lie hidden beneath your recognition, what healing needs to be done.

Lesson 2

The Two Steps To Healing - First Regulate Yourself Then Work On The Wounds And Beliefs

In this discussion, Ed establishes the first two steps to working on your ptsd. When a trigger hits the first thing we need to learn is how to regulate (or integrate our mind and body) so that we can bring our mind back on line and begin to return to the moment and then with our brain online we can discover what must be done in the moment and discover what wounds and beliefs are being triggered. As the expression goes we need to Regulate first then integrate what happened second.

Lesson 3

The Mind Body Relationship

This second discussion introduces the powerful relationship between the mind and body. The fact is that the central nervous system links the mind and body together so that every thought sends a physical sensation to the body and every physical sensation sends a corresponding message to the brain. Recognizing this we can use this relationship to regulate ourselves and then release the wounds and traumas in both the mind and body together. This ability is already wired within us and one only needs to learn how to create the environment that allows this healing to occur.

Lesson 4

Somatic Practices For Self Regulation

In this discussion Ed discusses the practices that we can learn and initiate to engage the cortex to regulate and come back fully online. With the understanding of the mind body relationship we can understand how meditation, movement, yoga, dance, and music asks the cortex to engage with the body and it MUST respond and regulation is achieved. Ed discusses the nuances of each of these approaches and speaks to their pros and cons.

Lesson 5

Breathe Exercises

Ed has dedicated a separate discussion on breathe exercises as a regulating exercise because of its exceptional results above the rest. While everyone is welcome to choose their own activity, breathe holds a lead over the others due to the body's need for oxygen to survive. When someone holds their breathe is sends a powerful message to the survival monitoring parts of the brain and since breathe is the number one need of the body, after food and water, the brain automatically comes online instantly. In this discussion Ed suggests 2 powerful breath exercises as well as what to look for in a breathe exercise if one wants to choose their own.

Lesson 6

The MindBody Release Technique

In this discussion Ed teaches you and takes you through the technique that, again, relies on the mindbody relationship to heal the mental and physical wounds together. It begins with a meditation and then becomes a mindful release technique that allows the wound to be release from the mind and body in a similar fashion as it was incurred. This is necessary because if we release the mental wound without releasing the physical wound the mental wound will return.

Lesson 7

Course Summary And Last Thoughts

In this last discussion Ed summarizes the discussions and reminds everyone that he is available to them long after the course is completed. In this summary the emphasis is on creating a protocol of the steps and working them into your day so that the daily incremental healings will compound into incredible freedom and release of the ptsd symptoms and triggers.
