Live Your Life in Flow State: Small-Chunking Your Way to 1-hr of Meditation a Day

With The Mental Level

If your regular meditation practice leaves something to be desired and you sense there's a deeper state and "gear" you can tap into, there is — it lies in a longer meditation practice, done diligently and properly. This one-week course will smoothly guide you to master the foundational skills for a progressively longer, deeper practice that will yield a stable daily focus, presence, and flow state. The course starts with a 10-minute practice on Day 1 and adds another 10 minutes every day until reaching a powerful, one-hour practice on Days 6 and 7, allowing you to small-chunk your way into that deeper zone at a steady pace. Whether you're a beginner or experienced in meditation, this course will equip you with the knowledge and direct experience to know what you're capable of, mentally and emotionally — and be able to create that same uplifting, reliable sense of flow and presence, every day going forward. Life will never be the same.

Lesson 1

Benefits & Motivation for a Longer Practice

On Day 1, we'll discuss the benefits of a longer meditation, write down our personal motivations for going deeper into our practice, do a 10-minute session covering basic focus & awareness skills, and end on our daily takeaway: practicing the Front & Center focus concept.

Lesson 2

Habits and Systems for a Successful Practice

On Day 2, we'll discuss the particular Habits and Systems you can implement consistently on a daily basis to ensure your meditation practice is successful and stable over time. Then, we'll do a 20-minute session incorporating Thought-Watching and Emotional Processing skills. Finally, we'll get in-depth for our daily takeaway on why doing One Thing at a Time, while simple, is the key to creating a consistent flow state and translating our practice into our lives.

Lesson 3

Warming Up and Progressive Intensification

On Day 3, we'll discuss the important dynamic of Warming up Your Attention as you start to do longer sessions, by recognizing the progressive intensification that occurs and making the most of it. Then, we'll do a 30-minute session incorporating a detailed Body Scan, eventually finding a sense of progressive intensification with our ability to drop thoughts and stay in the flow of attention head-to-toe. Finally, we'll form a takeaway intention about embracing uncomfortable and pleasant sensations alike and staying in a grounded, unwavering presence with both, allowing us to remain in a steady, present flow state throughout our day.

Lesson 4

Becoming What You Fully Focus On

On Day 4, we'll discuss the powerfully immersive and flow state-fostering skill of focusing 100% of your attention on something so that you experience the sensation of "becoming" that thing. Then, we'll do a 40-minute session, putting special attention on maximizing our attention on each point of focus until we eventually expand into a total awareness of the room & our immediate surroundings. Finally, we'll focus our takeaway lesson on practicing this skill of 100% attention and "becoming one" with whatever activities await us throughout our day, so we can experience the sensation of time disappearing and an immersive flow state.

Lesson 5

The Anchor Point

On Day 5, we'll discuss the high-level skill of creating the "anchor point" in meditation, wherein we maintain a consistent flow of focus and awareness on the present without getting distracted for more than a second or two at a time, and how this can translate to a highly consistent flow state in daily life. Then, we'll do a 50-minute session, practicing the previous skills until we expand past our immediate surroundings and venture into the entirety of the space around us with our awareness, experimenting with creating the anchor point (if the potential for it arises spontaneously). Finally, the take-away lesson invites us to practice this rhythm of dropping thoughts with lightning quickness to stay in a fully present rhythm of focus on what's right in front of us throughout the day, until we notice this rhythm become effortless.

Lesson 6

Leveraging the DPO Effect

On Day 6, we'll discuss how being aware of Duration, Path, and Outcome (as described by Dr. Andrew Huberman) can help you let go of the distracting, automatic processes that occur within the mind and sabotage your meditation, and instead, be fully committed — decisively — to the activity at hand. Then, we'll do a 60-minute session, deepening the previously practiced skills and making the most of the additional time to lock in and stabilize the anchor point effect, forging a potentially deeper flow. Finally, the take-away lesson focuses on practicing the power of decision that being aware of the DPO effect can afford us, allowing us to be decisively immersed in whatever activity we choose throughout our day.

Lesson 7

No Expectations

On Day 7, we'll discuss how dropping expectations and consciously having none is the final key to creating a consistent, deep meditation practice. Then, we'll do a new 60-minute session with more space and silence to create an opportunity to strengthen your rhythm and set the stage for an incredibly deep experience. Finally, the in-depth after-session lesson will focus on committing to whatever practice you decide upon going forward. It will lay out several options including length of time, practice styles, guided or non-guided, music or silence — and mix & matching these. You'll be encouraged to determine a realistic but challenging practice and decide upon it so you can build on and benefit from it for the rest of your life, putting yourself in a position to live in a beautiful, deep flow of energy and attention.

Incredible yet again. This is my second course of his I did back to back that made me feel like I quantum leaped back from the last few years of neglecting my practice and brought me back into states of effortless flow, relaxed concentration and borderline altered states. I remain in awe, can’t remember the last times I’ve reached these levels so effortlessly, if ever. Thank you Cyrus, will forever be grateful and indebted for your gift to us on here 🙏🏼 let me know if you ever want to organize a retreat in Dubai, we’d love to have you 🙌🏼

This was a great learning journey. I feel I have learnt a lot from this course and it has broadened my meditative skills. I will be doing the course again to pick up on some of the subtle ideas. I look forward to mixing up guided meditation and self guided meditation in my one hour meditation sessions in the future. Thank you for this inspiring course.

After decades of meditation and instruction from generations of teachers, this is the most useful teaching I’ve found. It’s challenging but worth the effort.

This course has brought an immense level of calm and clarity to my life during a challenging professional time. Because of this course, I can now feel and experience the benefits of long meditation both in the hour I'm meditating and throughout the rest of the day. I strongly recommend this course. I repeated days and will continue to repeat until I feel ready to drop my training wheels. Thank you for this gift!

This course is at once a fascinating exploration and a challenge ~ not for the faint of heart and mind! And it will make the heart and mind less faint when taken on. I’ve been meditating for more than a decade and I found it to be a great inspiration to re-embark on my private unguided daily meditations. I enjoyed many guided meditations during the pandemic via Insight Timer and have learned more than I imagined. Now I feel more prepared to independently meditate with the timer bells on the app or my own bells and singing bowls. This is empowering and inspiring - I thank the course instructor, Cyrus, for that. And I will return to Cyrus at his Mental Level, Davidji, Tom Evans, and my other teachers whenever I want to. A fantastic set up! Whether you continue with guided meditations or want more advanced training for any style, taking on this course may well empower you to step into your own goals with more independence and power.

Amazing! I normally get fidgety and bored with guided meditations after about 15 minutes but I managed to stay alert and mindful for the entire hour. What an incredible gift this is. Thank you

This course was so awesome that Im going to repeat this course for next week's meditation sessions. The education along the at the beginning of each class, has given me some really valuable insights. I never thought that someone who's been challenged by severe ADHD could get up to 1 hour of meditation or anywhere near this goal, but by doing this course, it's been seamlessly achievable. I already can't wait to do this again next week. 😊✌️🙏

Thanks Cyrus. That was amazing. Very insightful. 🤩 Sooooo where to begin. I was consecutive until I reached the day 7 meditation! True to form. Then I had a few days break and always had it in my head that I needed to get onto day 7 and finally did it this morning. I was not meditating in between and now I know I should have been. I found myself being quite easily distracted initially. Whereas when I was doing consecutive days I found myself being able to quell distractions much more easily. At the beginning of todays session It felt almost like I was dropped out of each reverie with a jolt, it was quite physical.😂 Hoooowever. I did manage to hit that anchor point and then there was nothing.. no distraction just being, I suppose is the way to describe it, but being everywhere and nowhere at the same time. I chose to follow some colours I saw at one point and all I can say is: Who needs psychedelics when you can achieve the same state through meditation🤔. I loved every second of your course Cyrus you really have opened my eyes to another world. I find the anchor point similar to a recurring dream or feeling I used to have whilst sleeping, of flying but watching myself fly and feeling it at the same time. Thanks 🙏 for the magical course. I intend to do a shorter practice some days a week and an hour at least 3 times a week and will see how I go from there. 🫡
