Breaking The Cycle Of Chronic Pain

With Fleur Chambers

This course is for you, the brave individuals showing up for their lives everyday whilst also living with persistent physical pain. Fleur combines the latest neuroscience, reflective meditation, personal experience, and beautiful healing music - in collaboration with Pablo Arellano - to create this 10-day course that’ll have you understanding and responding to your physical pain in new and liberating ways. You’ll learn that pain isn’t something that just lives in your muscles, tissues, joints, and ligaments. But rather, is an experience that begins in your brain and is influenced by your childhood, your beliefs, thoughts and personality traits. This course is about more than alleviating physical pain, it’s an invitation to re-establish the connection with your grounded, resilient, and wise nature, so that you can break the cycle of chronic pain. Let’s begin.

Her signature approach of 'warm-hearted curiosity' allows you to connect with the parts of you who are wise, grounded, grateful and confident. From here, it feels easier to take wise and skilful action in your everyday life. It's simple, when you meet this version of yourself in meditation, you come back, time and time again to your practice. Meditation changes from something you do to relax into something that is deeply enjoyable, illuminating and empowering. Lesson 1

The Invitation

In Day 1 we acknowledge all the effort you’ve made so far to understand and manage your physical pain. We acknowledge every appointment, treatment, exercise, medication, and Google search as important steps that have all led you here, to this moment when you’re ready to respond to your pain in new and liberating ways. In our practice together we breathe life into the idea that now is the time to stop looking to experts for ‘the answer’. We open the door to connecting to the wisdom of your body, to its infinite capacity to heal and regenerate. Thought of the day: I am ready to see my pain in new ways Music: Pablo Arellano, Floating refuge

Lesson 2

Thoughts & Pain

In Day 2 we explore the ‘biopsychosocial model’ of pain. This approach acknowledges how pain can be influenced by a wide variety of non physical factors such as childhood trauma, experiences growing up, our social environment, personality traits, thoughts and beliefs. In our practice together, we’ll identify the negative thoughts we have about our pain, and work towards replacing these with thoughts that make us feel more hopeful and resilient. Thought of the day: I am ready to take charge of my thoughts so I can take charge of my pain Music: Pablo Arellano, Pathway to freedom

Lesson 3

Beliefs, Personality & Pain

In day 3 we explore four common personality traits or characteristics that chronic pain sufferers often display. We begin to get curious about how the way we show up in the world may be impacting our experience of pain. In our practice together, we get curious about how these four characteristics manifest in our lives, feel in our bodies and land on our nervous system. Thought of the day: Being curious about my personality helps me understand my pain Music: Pablo Arellano, In my soul

Lesson 4

People-Pleasing & Pain

In day 4 we explore how the personality trait of people pleasing can contribute to physical pain. We learn about our reptilian brain and how the need to belong is etched into our DNA. In our practice together we dare to understand what lies beneath our people pleasing so that we can sooth ourselves. In doing so, creating a space to see that we are enough, we are safe, even when we don’t please everyone. Thought for the day - Meeting my own needs leads to good health Music - Pablo Arellano, Breath of light

Lesson 5

Perfectionism & Pain

In Day 5 we explore how perfectionism can contribute to our experience of physical pain. We reflect on how perfectionism is a double edged sword, leading to stress, anxiety and pain and also reducing our capacity to foster gratitude, joy, compassion and acceptance. In our practice together we get curious about our unique habits of perfection. From here, we’ll lean into this sense that we are enough, just as we are. In so doing, tapping into our body’s ability to be soothed and healed. Thought of the day: When I believe I am already enough, my body heals Music: Pablo Arellano, Flashes of light

Lesson 6

Seeing Your Life & Your Pain Clearly

In Day 6 you’ll take an aerial view of your life, noticing with greater perspective those parts of your life that may be contributing to your pain and also the parts of your life that fill you with a sense of calm, joy, gratitude and good health. In our practice together, you’ll gain perspective and clarity, allowing you to create a new baseline for your habits. Thought of the day: My actions contribute to my health and wellbeing Music: Pablo Arellano, Springtime breeze

Lesson 7

Interacting With Your Body In New Ways

In Day 7 we begin the process of interacting with our bodies in new and liberating ways. Together, we’ll learn to move from the lens of fear and lack towards a greater experience of gratitude and connection. In our practice together, we’ll strengthen our neural pathways for gratitude, connection and healing by focusing on all the amazing, complex, and intelligent ways our bodies support us each day. Thought for the day: Gratitude opens the door to healing Music: Pablo Arellano, Gentle journey

Lesson 8

Cellular Healing

In day 8 we continue to strengthen our capacity to sooth our nervous system so that our body can heal at a deep cellular level. Today’s meditation may feel more like hypnosis as we go deep in order to access our healing state. You’ll be asked to take charge of your brain, so that it can tell your body it’s time to heal. This is a deeply restorative and empowering practice that you may wish to repeat. Thought of the day: My body knows how to heal Music: Pablo Arellano, Light of the Moon

Lesson 9

Learning To Listen To Your Body

In day 9 we continue to reimagine the relationship between your mind and body by really opening the lines of communication, by learning to respect and listen to the different ways your body speaks to you. The idea being that if you listen to the whispers, you won't have to hear the screams. In our practice together we scan our bodies, tuning into sensation, getting curious about what they might mean. From here, we’lll ask our bodies if they have a message for us. I hope you’ll be brave enough to listen. Thought of the day: When I listen to my body, I heal Music: Pablo Arellano, Sweet surrender

I can’t even describe the peace I’ve gained from this course. The content and the presentation of it is so well done that it is assimilated with no effort. I came into this with an open mind and heart and found the gifts of my pain.

This course was absolutely amazing. The information shared makes perfect sense & the meditations profound. Intellectually, I know this. I'm finding that I need to feel this experientially. Also, I find that I want this pain to be over quickly, like I have a limit on time. I'm learning to dissolve this idea and take one day/one moment at a time. This course has been especially helpful to me. Thank you! 🙏🏻

I’ve lived in chronic pain for decades. This is the first time I felt like I’ve been able to make legitimate progress with healing. Pills, exercises, and doctors orders got me so far, this course got me the rest of the way in finding pain free days.

This course has been a big deal for me. Pivotal. As I approach 60, I believe it’s not too late to stop ignoring my chronic pain, stop blaming myself for having done that since I was a kid (while learning to understand why I would do such a self-destructive thing), and move forward gratefully and as gracefully as I can with this body (and mind) I’ve been so miraculously given.

This course was exactly what I didn’t know I needed! I didn’t realize that I had chronic pain as I’ve just become used to it. I have all the factors that make me susceptible to it. Thank you for explaining so well how to become aware of the pain and the why/what is causing it. My pain is in my sinuses and once I get a cold it is so hard to get rid of it. Mine stems from childhood emotional neglect and feelings of unworthiness which led to not taking care of myself and putting others needs first. I am working on healing from this by creating better habits. With the teachings on Insight Timer and Atomic Habits book by James Clear, I’m learning how to heal and find ways to notice and live a better life free from my old ways of thinking and doing. Thank you again for this beautiful course!

I did most of Fleurs other courses and although I didn't consider the physical and mental complaints of my burnout as chronic pain, I thought I could pick up something from this course. In the first few minutes, I realized this was exactly what I was looking for. I recognized most of the patterns and the meditations and explanations helped me a lot. Everyone told me that I would be grateful after my recovery and my burnout would bring me good things. This course really helped seeing the last two years as a healing experience for my body and mind. My only complaint is that the course is too short to really adapt to this new view of me and my body, but I'll just start again in a few weeks to really let it sink in. Thanks again Fleur!

I can’t put into words how much this course has meant, and how much it’s helped me. Putting into works so many of my feelings and frustrations around my fibromyalgia and giving such beautiful and meaningful steps to connect to my body, be grateful for it and view pain from a new set of perspectives has really helped soften it. I can even appreciate my pain for what it teaches me, something I never expected! Thank you do much for putting this wonderful course together 🙏
