Good morning.
I trust you have already settled into a comfortable position,
Relaxed yet aware,
And are ready to close down your eyes and connect with your inner landscape just as it is this morning.
Let's begin our practice together by enjoying a full deep breath in,
Holding for a moment and letting the air flow out long and smooth.
And again taking a full deep breath in,
Holding for a moment and then releasing all the stale air from the night.
And let's try that once more,
Taking a full and deep breath in,
Holding and releasing the breath long and smooth,
Allowing your breath to return to its natural rhythm now.
Noticing the gentle rise and fall of your chest.
Noticing the soft expanse of your belly as the air flows in and out.
Noticing the touch of air as it enters and leaves your body.
And waking your senses from their slumber a little more now.
Noticing colours and shades move across your closed eyes.
Faint scents move across your nose.
Sensations coming and going from inside your mouth.
Noticing your clothes as they rest on your skin.
Noticing your weight as it meets the ground beneath you.
Noticing the ground as it rises up to support you this morning.
Resting here in the fullness of this moment.
Nothing to do,
Nothing to be.
Simply resting in your breath,
Your body and this moment.
Noticing your awareness once more to your breath.
And if you are able,
Can you direct your breath into your heart or the centre of your chest.
With each in-breath we are waking our heart from its night time slumber.
With each in-breath we are welcoming our heart into our awareness.
Moving down from our minds and any sense of striving or wanting.
Moving into the calm waters below,
Into the deep pool of our hearts.
Breathing into our hearts,
Into a deep sense of wholeness.
How does it feel to connect with your heart this morning?
Noticing any physical sensations that emerge when you connect with your heart.
No right or wrong here,
Simply being open and curious.
Imagining your heart as an anchor,
Allowing you to feel grounded and safe.
Allowing you to feel courageous and purposeful.
Allowing you to feel peaceful and at ease.
Breathing into your heart,
Feeling its warmth,
Its glow,
Its potential.
If your heart had a wish for you for today,
What would it be?
Breathing into this wish,
Allowing it to seep into the fabric of who you are.
Offering your heart a smile as a way of saying thank you for its desire to support you.
This smile softening across your eyes,
Your jaw,
This smile softening your shoulders,
Your tummy.
And from this message of love,
I invite you to set yourself an intention for today.
Breathing this intention deep into your heart,
Allowing it to find home there,
Safe in your heart's infinite capacity to hold you.
