Welcome to the Daily Insight.

My name is Fleur Chambers.

I'm delighted to be here with you this morning to support you in starting your day with mindful awareness,

Motivation and intention.

Beginning your day in this way can have a profound impact on your attitude,

Perspective and the way in which you interact with the world around you.

By allowing yourself this gift of mindful presence,

You are cultivating a sense of expanded awareness and possibility.

So let's begin now by settling into a comfortable position.

This could be seated or lying down,

Whatever feels good for you this morning.

Closing down your eyes if you like,

Letting the landscape of your awareness turn inward to the melody and rhythm of your inner world.

Can you begin by offering yourself a gentle smile of appreciation for making meditation a priority this morning?

Breathing into this sense of smile for a moment or two,

Allowing it to soften and spread across your body.

And as you continue to breathe,

Allowing this sense of smile to create a softening across your eyes,

Across your jaw,

Across your shoulders.

This sense of smile softening your stomach,

Inviting your legs and your arms to feel heavy.

Resting here for a moment or two,

Allowing this sense of smile and softening to seep a little further into your body.

Drawing your awareness now to your breath,

This gentle life force that exists within each of us.

No need to manipulate your breath,

Just greeting it as you would a great friend with a sense of warmth and openness.

Noticing the air as it enters your body.

Noticing the air as it leaves your body.

Noticing the gentle rise and fall of your chest.

Noticing the soft expanse of your belly as the air flows in and out.

Now turning your attention to the finer qualities and intricate details of your breath.

Perhaps you can feel the air at the exact point in which it enters your nose.

Perhaps you can feel the air as it meets your throat.

Maybe you can feel the point where the air reaches your chest or your belly.

Does your inhale feel gentle,

Soft,

Strong?

Does it feel warm or cool?

Moving your awareness now to the pause at the top of your inhale.

The moment just before you exhale,

When your lungs are full.

Taking a moment to see what this pause feels like for you.

And now turning your attention to your exhale.

Perhaps you can hear the gentle sound of air as it leaves your body.

Maybe you are able to notice a sense of letting go or a sense of relaxation.

Remaining curious and open here.

And finally resting your attention on the pause at the end of the exhale.

When you are empty and still just before the cycle of breath begins again.

What does this pause feel like for you?

Resting here in this four part breath cycle for a moment or two.

Resting in this deep place of mindful awareness,

Focus and connection.

Coming home to your breath,

Your life force.

Inviting you now to return your attention to your exhale.

And if you can,

Gently lengthening your exhale,

Allowing it to be long and smooth.

As you focus on your exhale,

Perhaps you are becoming aware of a growing sense of relaxation.

Remaining curious and present in this experience,

How does it feel to let go,

To relax,

To surrender?

As you continue to cultivate this felt sense of surrender and letting go,

I ask you warmheartedly,

Is there something you may wish to let go of here in this safe space you have created?

Something that may prevent you from embracing the potential of this new day?

Perhaps there is a past hurt lingering.

Maybe there is a self-critical thought,

A limiting belief or worry that you may like to let go of today?

As you continue to focus on your exhale,

Can you imagine that whatever is holding you back is leaving your mind,

Body and heart with the aid of your breath?

As you exhale,

You are letting go of whatever stands in the way of the unbridled potential of today.

From within this act of letting go,

You have created an opening,

A sense of space and of possibility.

I wonder,

What would you like to invite into this space this morning?

What would you like to cultivate more of?

What inner strength would you like to grow?

Would you like to invite in more calm,

More compassion,

More patience?

Perhaps you would like to welcome more self-acceptance,

Forgiveness,

Confidence or creativity?

Or do you desire more joy and happiness?

Focusing now on your inhale and as you inhale noticing the way your chest expands at the front,

The back and the sides.

And can this sense of physical expansion also encourage a sense of expanded awareness,

A sense of possibility and of hope?

As you inhale,

Imagine you are breathing in the very essence of this part of you you wish to grow.

Breathing this part of you awake,

Alive,

Vibrant.

With each in-breath this part of you is growing stronger.

From this place of growth and possibility,

I invite you to set yourself an intention for today.

Perhaps it relates to this part of you that you wish to grow,

Or maybe it feels different.

There is no right or wrong here.

Just seeing if you can allow a phrase or some words to gently come to mind.

With each inhale can you breathe this intention deep into your heart and your chest,

Allowing it to spread into your stomach,

Hips and pelvis.

The essence of this intention moving now down your legs,

To your feet and toes.

Feeling this sense of intention move across your shoulders,

Down your arms to your hands and fingers,

Allowing its essence to seep into your entire being.

Can you feel a sense of aliveness,

Of hope,

Of possibility moving through you?

Can you feel this sense of being awake to this new day?

Resting here in this aliveness for a moment or two.

Awake,

Vibrant,

Aware.

If this sense of possibility and hope had a colour,

What would it be?

Breathing in this colour,

Breathing out this colour.

With one deep intentional breath,

Let's send this colour and our intention out into our new day.

Letting its essence linger in your environment and guide you through your day.

Let's finish this meditation just as we began,

With a smile of appreciation for this moment to pause and connect with yourself before the busyness takes hold.

For a moment to hear the whispers of your heart,

The echo of your soul.

Gently bringing your awareness to the sounds in your environment,

To the melody of the morning.

Slowly bringing some movement to your fingers and toes and opening your eyes when you are ready.

May you walk through your day with a sense of curiosity and openness and when you see the colour that represented growth,

Possibility and hope for you.

May it be a gentle reminder to remain true to your intention.

I’m not a “beginner” (or maybe I am 😂) but I’m so glad I tried this meditation. It was accessible and pleasant. I loved the idea of connecting a color to the intention so that whenever I see the color throughout my day I am reminded of my intention. Very smart. Thank you!
