So please settle in,
Allowing your eyes to close if you like and beginning your practice with a few deep and intentional breaths.
Long slow inhale through the nose,
Belly filling,
Chest expanding,
A pause at the top of the inhale,
Long smooth exhale from the mouth,
Really emptying here.
Again,
Long slow inhale through the nose,
Belly filling,
Chest expanding,
A gentle pause at the top of the breath,
Body full of fresh oxygen and a long smooth exhale from the mouth,
Letting go of the stale air and energy of the night.
One final time,
Long smooth inhale through the nose,
Pausing at the top,
Body filled with fresh oxygen and vitality,
Long smooth exhale from the mouth,
A real letting go.
As your breath returns to its natural rhythm,
Noticing how even a few intentional breaths serves to bring your mind and body here,
Into this moment,
Into the energy of this day.
Sun rising,
Offering its gift of light and warmth.
Our precious Sun,
Sustaining all life for humans,
Animals,
Plants and our planet.
Offering the Sun a deep breath of gratitude for its role in sustaining all life on planet Earth.
Just as the Sun rises on each new day,
You too can rise to this new day.
Rise to the sense of fresh opportunity of beginnings,
Softening across your eyes,
Your cheeks,
Your jaw,
Face open and at ease,
Allowing your shoulders to settle down your back,
Chest naturally open,
Ready to greet the world.
Perhaps even a half smile across your lips,
Resting here in this posture of receptivity,
Of being alive to this new day.
Sensing your whole body breathing,
Whole body expanding on each in-breath,
Whole body contracting on each out-breath,
Whole body alive to the dynamic flow of oxygen and energy.
Every part of you receiving this energy,
Perhaps you can feel it all the way into your fingers and toes,
Allowing your awareness to sink a little deeper,
Imagining your heart beating within your chest.
Your heart,
The strongest electromagnetic field in your entire body.
Your heart that will beat over a thousand times during this meditation.
Your heart that pumps life and vitality into every organ,
Every cell of your body.
Breathing a deep breath of gratitude into your heart now.
Opening,
Connecting,
Receiving,
Blood pumping through your veins,
Imagining your organs,
Muscles,
Ligaments and tissues each performing their roles within you.
Every cell in your body growing,
Regenerating,
Healing.
Every part of you alive,
Dynamic,
Filled with its own energy.
As you sit in stillness,
Your external body is still,
But your inner body is alive and vibrant.
It feels good to connect with this sense of vitality within you.
Noticing how it feels for you.
Perhaps you notice increased sensation or a feeling of openness and possibility.
Maybe you experience it as peace or even hope.
Here,
Within this sense of energy and vitality you have created,
There is choice.
You can choose in this very moment where you want to place your attention today.
Where you want your energy to flow.
You can also choose what you want to let go.
What you don't want to give your energy over to.
Allowing your breath,
Your life force to bring your deepest desires to life.
Focusing on your inhale and all it represents.
The possibility to begin again,
To invite in,
To receive.
Here in this moment,
What are you ready to invite in to your day?
Opening to any words,
Images,
Emotions or sensations.
Trusting in your own wisdom here.
Each breath bringing to life what you desire for today.
Each breath sending a message to your mind,
Body and heart that you are ready.
Ready to approach today differently.
Ready to embrace today with a greater sense of energy,
Direction,
Vibrancy and purpose.
Noticing how this feels for you in your body.
Noticing how this feels for you in your heart.
Feeling clear,
Feeling purposeful.
From here you know exactly what you need to let go of today.
Long smooth exhale.
Really cultivating this felt sense of letting go.
Each out breath a clear invitation for your mind,
Body and heart to let go of whatever no longer serves you.
To let go of whatever stands in the way of you and your unbridled potential.
Feeling grateful for this opportunity to have connected more deeply with yourself.
To have heard the whispers of your own deep wisdom.
You may even like to whisper thank you.
Wisdom without action amounts to nothing.
So here in this moment setting yourself an intention or commitment relating to one thing you will do today to feel more vibrant alive and purposeful.
Now really imagining yourself doing this thing or being this way.
Creating this image in your mind.
As you do this you are sending an energetic message to the universe that you are ready.
Ready to live with greater intention.
Ready to spend more time with the people and things that really light you up.
Offering your body any movement it desires.
Maybe even a big stretch will feel good this morning.
