Welcome,
Welcome to the space of inner listening,
Where an ancient voice speaks quietly through time.
What you are about to explore is known as the I Ching,
Also called the Book of Changes.
It is one of the oldest spiritual texts in the world,
Part philosophy,
Part mirror of nature and mind.
The I Ching has been guiding people for thousands of years across cultures,
Continents and generations.
It is not a book to be read once and understood,
It is not a dogma,
It is a living dialogue,
A subtle conversation between you and the great unfolding of life.
At the centre of the I Ching live the 64 hexagrams.
Each one is a unique pattern made of six lines,
Some solid,
Some open,
Also known as broken.
These lines form symbols that speak to different moments in the rhythm of life.
Times of stillness,
Times of movement,
Growth,
Decay,
Clarity,
Infusion,
Alignment and disruption.
Each hexagram is a doorway into a particular way of seeing and being,
A way of understanding the nature of change and your place within it.
The I Ching reminds us that change is the only constant and that by learning to move with a particular type of change instead of against it,
We become more in tune with the flow of life.
And so,
This offering contains individual recordings for each of the 64 hexagrams,
Making this wisdom more accessible,
Poetic and intuitive.
You do not need to know anything about the I Ching to begin.
You do not need to memorise meanings or study any system.
In fact,
You are warmly invited to approach it not with a mind of analysis,
But with the openness of your heart and with the trusting of your intuition.
So here's how it works.
You can listen to any of the hexagram recordings at any time.
There is no order you must follow.
Instead,
Let yourself be drawn to a number,
Title,
Word,
Even just a feeling.
Perhaps you might like to ask a question first about a decision you're facing,
A feeling you don't yet understand,
A relationship,
A project,
A threshold,
A moment of uncertainty.
You might simply ask,
What wants to be seen now?
Then,
Allow your intuition to choose a hexagram.
Scroll slowly through the list and pause when something catches your attention.
No need to second guess it,
Just trust.
Alternatively,
You can use traditional methods to cast a hexagram,
Like tossing coins or And if you're familiar with these practices,
They work beautifully alongside this series.
However you arrive at a hexagram,
Each recording you hear is an invitation,
Not a fixed truth or a prediction.
It's more like a companion,
A symbolic mirror for your inner knowing.
You may find that a certain hexagram describes your situation with uncanny accuracy,
Or it may seem mysterious at first,
Only to unfold its meaning gently over time.
Either way,
Take what resonates,
Leave what doesn't,
And let it move through you like poetry.
Not something to decode,
Something to feel.
The Eaching was never meant to be an answer book,
It is rather a book of relationships,
Because it speaks of the interplay between yin and yang,
Stillness and motion,
Receiving and giving,
Night and day.
It reminds us that every situation contains both what is emerging and what is passing away.
And that wisdom comes not from control,
But from alignment.
The 64 hexagrams hold archetypal wisdom,
And how that wisdom lands in you is entirely personal.
Two people may hear the same message and receive something entirely different,
Both true.
That's why this series is not prescriptive,
There is no right interpretation.
There is only the space we make within ourselves to allow what life is offering.
So,
Take your time,
Let these hexagrams meet you where you are.
And perhaps you might find yourself returning to one more than once.
Perhaps you might like to keep a journal.
Perhaps also notice how the guidance you receive evolves as you evolve.
See this as a practice of listening more deeply to symbols,
To cycles,
To synchronicities,
And to the voice of inner truth.
Eaching itself begins with a single idea.
That change is not random,
It is patterned.
It is meaningful and alive.
And when we attune to those patterns,
When we slow down enough to listen,
We start to sense a greater intelligence moving through our lives.
Not something outside of us,
Something within.
So as you explore these hexagrams,
Let them stir your own inner wisdom.
Let them offer perspective,
Reassurance,
Perhaps even a challenge.
And let them remind you,
You are not alone in your questions.
You are part of a living dance of change.
Every moment is both an ending and a beginning.
Every challenge contains the seed of transformation.
Every stillness prepares the next movement.
So thank you for bringing your presence here,
And know that this space is yours to return to whenever you have uncertainty,
Whenever you feel curious,
Or you may be in transition,
Or simply just drawn to listen again.
You will find all 64 recordings under my track tab on my profile page,
Or you can go to the Eaching playlist,
Which you will find at the bottom of my profile page.
Now,
Just take a moment to feel into your breath,
And if you feel ready,
Begin your journey with a hexagram that calls to you,
And let the mystery unfold.
So from me,
Helen Hansen,
I won't say goodbye,
But rather until we meet again in the hexagram of your choice.
