Alright,

So let's try a simple strategy I call Dragonfly.

I'm sure you've seen a dragonfly flying around somewhere or maybe even landing on your car when you're driving.

If you've ever seen a dragonfly or visualized a dragonfly,

They have four wings.

We're going to get into a position that's going to make us look like we have four wings.

If you have mobility issues and you're not able to bend your legs and touch your feet,

I invite you to just extend your legs in an X kind of formation where they're wide apart,

Looking maybe like a V.

The same thing with your arms,

If you have mobility issues and you're not able to bend your elbows,

You can just lay in an X formation.

For those of you getting into dragonfly,

I invite you to interlock your fingers together.

Now you're going to lean your head into your closed palm with your fingers tied together or you can rest your neck in the palm of your hands.

Now you're going to touch your feet together and you're going to open your knees wide apart.

When your feet are touching,

Knees wide apart,

Your hands are interlocked and they're resting behind your neck or your head.

And you're laying back on a flat surface.

It could be a yoga mat on the floor,

A couch,

If you can lay down comfy,

Or a bed.

Ideally you would use this technique combined with your centering breath or with the 5-5-5 breath that you've used before.

And you want to do this for several minutes.

This will help calm your nervous system and boost your immune system as you are connecting the right and left hemispheres of your brain with your body by touching right to left and left to right.

This is sinking and calming your nervous system.

It relaxes your muscles,

It slows your heart rate,

It calms your breath,

And it even calms your limbic system as you create a sense of inner peace.

So now that you're laying in this simple dragonfly position or an X position if you have mobility issues,

I invite you to take in three deep,

Slow breaths.

We're going to focus on the dragonfly position and the 5-5-5 breath now.

You can also use this with the centering breath we did earlier.

So we're going to breathe in three slow breaths,

Hold briefly,

And exhale slowly.

Let's start with a count of five.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Hold.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Exhale.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Again,

Inhale.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Hold.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Exhale.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Last breath.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Hold.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Exhale.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

You have done an amazing job.

This simple practice has calmed your nervous system and boosted your immune system.

You have accessed the state of mind of a man.

And I invite you to take this into your day and use it often.
