Thomas completed a Master of Theological Studies at Harvard Divinity School, where his research focused on the relationship between medicine and religion across cultures, as well as the importance of using challenging experiences as an impetus for growth. He has studied and practiced various forms of meditation, yoga, and qigong for over 20 years, and draws on wisdom from many traditions - particularly Buddhism, Daoism, Sufism, and yogic philosophy - to illuminate the love, compassion, and wisdom that we all carry within. Thomas is also a practitioner, scholar, and teacher of acupuncture and Oriental medicine, and has taught workshops across the United States and internationally. His first book - Extraordinary Chinese Medicine: The Extraordinary Vessels, Extraordinary Organs, and the Art of Being Human - examines connections between Daoist cosmology and the philosophy underlying Chinese medicine, and how this relates to the energetic anatomy of the acupuncture channels. He is also coauthor of Neoclassical Pulse Diagnosis, by William Morris. Through these endeavors and working with patients over the last 20 years, he has witnessed how our beauty arises in our complexity, as we begin to accept ourselves as we are in each moment. In so doing, one’s true nature comes forth and we experience the peace and light that is our natural state.
