Look Again: A Mindful Observation Journey

With Ann Wlodarczyk

What happens when you slow down and really pay attention to something from the natural world? In this 7-day journey, you'll explore mindful observation through a series of simple, hands-on practices using everyday objects from nature. Each day invites you to look more closely, engage your senses, notice texture and detail, explore perspective and change, and become curious about what you might otherwise overlook. As you move through the course, you'll build your ability to slow down, focus your attention, and experience the world around you with greater awareness. You'll also discover how observation can become a creative practice, with opportunities to draw, write, experiment, and respond to what you notice in your own way. By the final day, you'll choose an object of your own and bring together the skills you've developed throughout the journey. You'll learn to trust your attention, follow your curiosity, and discover more by simply taking the time to look again. No previous mindfulness or art experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to slow down. Before starting each new lesson, check the description to see which object you'll need that day, so that you can have it ready before you begin.

Lesson 7

Your Object, Your Way

In today's final lesson, you'll choose a natural object of your own and bring together everything you've practiced throughout the course. Then you'll transform one of your discoveries into something completely new through a creative practice. Before pressing play, have a natural object handy. It could be a piece of bark, a seed, a bird's nest, some soil, a pinecone, moss, an acorn, or even a fruit or vegetable.
