What The Universe Desires For You
The life you create for yourself is a manifestation of the seeds you plant within yourself. One of the most powerful beliefs you can plant and nurture in your inner garden is that you live in a benevolent Universe that only wants the best for you. The most effective way to increase your happiness is to change your perspective. The lens through which you view the world determines your experience of it.

The quote I chose for this week comes from page 74 of my book Your Unique Path to Wealth.
And the quote is,
The universe wants you to be genuinely happy and overflowing with childlike joy.
And I chose this quote because in my own experience,
And I'm sure you can relate,
At times it feels like the world is against us.
It feels like no matter how hard I try to get out of a certain situation,
There's almost an invisible glass ceiling that just prevents me from making the change that I want to change.
Or it may seem like all these things come out of nowhere,
Just challenge after challenge after challenge,
And no matter how hard you work to make it through,
It almost feels unfair on how these challenges keep stacking up.
And I really think perspective is everything.
How we view our life changes our experience of life and also what we manifest into our life.
This is a firm belief that I have for my own life based on my own life experience.
And I truly believe that when we see the world as a benevolent place,
And we see challenges that arise as something that are here to serve a purpose,
Our soul's growth,
Not only does it change our mindset in how we approach the new challenges that arise,
But it completely changes our experience of our life itself.
And one saying that I heard when I was in a spiritual community in Scotland called the Finhorn Foundation that has left a huge mark on me is,
The universe gives us what we need,
Not what we want.
And most often in hindsight,
We can see why things had to unfold in the way that they unfolded,
But it can be extremely hard to see that in the moment.
And very often,
We only change through discomfort,
Not through comfort.
And these unwanted challenges that can seem like such a burden that we wish would just go away,
May actually be the catalyst needed to transform us into the person that we actually want to be,
And the person that we've been praying to become,
Or have been asking the universe for guidance on how to become.
I did see this quote on TikTok that also resonated with me a lot,
Where the character,
It was a quote from a movie,
Said,
When someone prays for courage,
Do you think the universe or God gives them courage,
Or do they give them the opportunity to be courageous?
And that really left an impact on me when I heard that,
Because I absolutely do believe that we're the ones that both create our reality,
And also have chosen to come here on Earth to experience growth and evolution.
I can't speak for anyone else,
I can only speak for my own life experience,
But I have such a deeply rooted and firm belief that my eternal soul chose to come here on Earth to experience growth and evolution.
And in the moment,
When my ego experiences a new challenge,
All my ego seems to want is comfort.
It wants the challenge to go away,
It wants me to experience pleasure,
Comfort,
And an easy life.
And sometimes these are great,
And just like in any healthy and balanced life,
I think these things are beautiful,
But I also think that my eternal soul didn't choose to come and incarnate on Earth just to experience comfort and pleasure.
I think that's part of the human experience,
But the true human experience encompasses so much more than just these two things.
And now,
Whenever I receive a new challenge,
I have an internal battle usually,
Because my ego is like,
Screw this,
This isn't fair,
Why is this entering in my life,
Why is this person or this circumstance keep showing up?
But deep down,
I start to believe more and more that there's actually an opportunity here.
And I know it's all about balance,
And it's very easy to swing into the opposite side of the spectrum,
Where it's spiritual bypassing,
Where we deny that unwanted things are unwanted,
And we just say everything's good,
Because it's all love.
And it's true from one perspective,
But at the same time,
We also have to honor that sometimes things enter our life that are just not good,
That we just don't want.
And we have to be honest with ourself,
And it's even ironic,
Because if you believe that a negative or unwanted or challenging thing entered your life for your soul's growth,
If you deny that it's an unwanted or bad thing,
Your soul can't actually grow from it,
Cannot grow from it.
So it's really ironic,
Because in order to grow from the unwanted circumstance,
You have to live it,
You have to be in the moment and have an honest emotional reaction to it.
You can't just pretend that because it's for my soul's highest good,
It's okay,
It's not a problem.
It has to be acknowledged as the problem that it is,
And seen for how it truly affects you,
In order for you to grow from it.
And then in hindsight,
You can look back and say,
Wow,
I'm grateful that this challenge entered my life,
Because look at how I've grown from it.
But you can't,
Cannot jump to that conclusion too soon,
Because if you go from it a place of saying,
I'm so grateful that this unwanted thing is in my life,
Then you don't have the full emotional reaction to it,
And the experience that is the catalyst for your own growth.
So I know that might sound a little bit confusing,
But I think if you look back to your own life experience,
It can become a lot more clear and less abstract.
So think about something right now that's really challenging you.
I believe most,
If not almost all of us,
Are facing one thing,
And when I look at my own life experience,
There always seems to be at least one main challenge in my life that I'm facing.
And if I look back in the history of my life,
If it wasn't this thing,
It would be another thing,
And if it wasn't another thing,
It would be another thing.
And so I think that instead of waiting for a future moment where we have no challenges,
Where we can be happy,
We can realize that being challenged is part of our evolution.
If we came here on Earth to grow,
And we constantly choose to evolve,
We're going to be rubbed up against friction,
Challenging circumstances.
And although my ego,
And maybe your ego as well,
Wants to get to that future idealized life where everything is perfect and you're not challenged,
And super comfortable,
Super pleasurable,
Super easy,
Maybe,
And only you can answer this question,
But maybe a deeper part of you doesn't actually want to live that way.
Even though your ego may be saying,
This is all I want,
This is all I've ever wanted,
But the universe has constantly hit me with challenge after challenge,
Just maybe that there's a deeper part of you that wants to be challenged,
And even likes to be challenged.
And changing this perspective can change everything,
Because if we're not waiting for the challenges to pass in order to be happy,
Or in order to enjoy our life,
We can actually realize that having a challenge may be part of being a human,
And having the human experience.
And again,
This is all about balance.
It's not to say,
Okay,
Well this thing that I hate,
Or is really negatively affecting my life,
All of a sudden it's okay.
It's not a problem anymore because it's helping me evolve.
And my response to that is no,
It is a problem.
It is what it is.
We don't want to deny it.
We want to see it as honestly as possible.
But then,
On top of that,
Once we acknowledge the weight of it,
Whatever it is,
The question then becomes,
Well now that it's here,
And it's shown up in my life,
How can I grow from it?
How can I evolve from it?
Without denying the pain or the discomfort that it's causing me,
What do I do with it?
And that's where all our power lies.
We get to choose how we respond,
How we respond to what life throws at us.
And I know this may sound like it's a little bit drifting away from the original quote I shared,
But I think it's absolutely connected,
Because the universe wants us to be genuinely happy and overflowing with childhood joy.
And I believe when we change our perspective,
We'll then see that life gives us so many things to be joyful for,
And although our ego has these preconceived ideas,
Largely inherited from society,
Maybe parents or mentors or other peers,
That tell us what our life needs to look like to be happy,
Very likely the things that our ego thinks it needs to be happy aren't what actually make us happy at the deepest soul,
Heart level.
And just maybe,
I'm throwing it out there,
What our heart and soul most craves is to live the life that we're already living right now,
But we just need to change our perspective in order to truly see that.
And when we see that clearly,
Nothing has to change in the external world in order for our experience of life to completely shift.
And ironically,
When we no longer need things to change in the external world to be happy,
They do change,
Because the external world is a mirror that reflects our internal world.
So it's very cool,
And it also reminded me of a quote I heard from Einstein,
But I completely forget the quote,
I just remember the general idea,
So forgive me if I get it wrong.
But the quote is something along the lines of,
Whether you choose to believe that the universe is hostile or benevolent is one of the most important questions you can ever answer in your entire life.
And I really need to look up the actual quote to make sure I get it right,
But I think you can understand the idea,
Which is,
We have a choice,
Ultimately,
Whether to look at the world as a friendly,
Benevolent place,
Or a hostile place.
And if you think about it,
In your day-to-day life,
Wherever you live,
If you see the world as a hostile place,
You won't want to connect with new people,
Because the automatic assumption is that something bad could happen to me,
Or it's dangerous.
But if we view the world as a friendly place,
We assume and set expectations that good things are going to happen to us.
We're more likely to connect,
Which is the fundamental need for humans,
To connect with other people,
Because we believe fundamentally that other people are good.
And it's such an important shift to make,
And to believe in.
And again,
There's always balance,
You want to be careful and not naive,
Especially let's say you're traveling to a new area,
You want to be smart,
But at the same time,
The underlying assumption is that the universe is fundamentally good.
And when we believe that,
We really will change our life experiences.
And if you believe in manifestation,
Then you can see very clearly why having the expectation that the universe is good will change what you manifest into your life.
But even if you don't believe in manifestation,
Just from a purely logical standpoint,
If you believe that the universe is friendly and benevolent,
You're more likely to focus on the parts of life that are good,
That match your belief,
And more likely to not focus on the bad.
So I don't know the specific psychological studies on this,
But I have read in a few books in the past,
This idea that you've likely read as well,
Which is,
At any given moment,
There is practically an infinite amount of stimuli that we can choose to focus on.
You think about wherever you're walking throughout your day-to-day life,
There are so many different things,
Countless different things that your eyes can look at,
That you can choose to focus on in your mind,
And the question is,
How do we select what to focus on?
And in other words,
There's essentially practically unlimited proof to offer evidence for any belief that you choose.
So the beliefs that you carry are what help you select what you focus your attention on.
So when you're looking for good,
Out of the practically unlimited stimuli that you can choose to focus on in your environment,
You're going to start to pay attention to when humans are kind to each other.
When you see people laughing and enjoying life and having a good time.
Just imagine you're in a big city.
There's basically almost every single emotion happening at any given time in that city,
And if you think that life is good,
The universe is benevolent,
You're going to focus more of your attention on the people that are playing,
That are having fun,
And that are happy,
And that seem like they're enjoying their life.
But if you believe that the world is hostile,
You believe that the world is going in a very negative direction,
In that same city,
You're going to be paying more attention to the people who seem stressed,
Overworked,
Unhappy,
And who seem to believe that the world is ending.
Now I know this is an extreme example,
And again,
It's always about balance.
It's not about saying everything's good and nothing's bad,
And just denying the bad.
But ultimately,
The world is more of a reflection of your internal state than it is of what the world actually is.
So your perspective,
Again,
Is everything.
And as we get further along in this video,
I'm realizing that at the heart of this question,
Or not even this question,
This quote,
Excuse me,
Is this idea of perspective.
Because what you expect is what you attract,
Is what you manifest,
And it's what you focus on and see in the world.
And when you expect good things,
Pretty much everyone will tell you,
Whether they believe in manifestation or not,
That that's ultimately a good thing for your happiness and for your life.
If you're in the entrepreneurial world,
They will constantly tell you how it's so important to be optimistic and expect the best even when the odds are against you.
And you can apply it to basically any area of life.
The people in their job or career who expect good things to happen almost always have more good things happen to them.
And you don't have to believe in any spiritual things to understand how that works.
But then from the manifestation perspective,
Which is the part that I get really excited about,
Is you look at the world as all energy,
Of course when people expect good things,
They then vibrate at the same frequency as that good thing.
And they attract more of that good thing into their life.
And when I say the universe wants you to be genuinely happy and overflowing with childhood joy,
That essentially means that the universe wants what you want.
So when you think about the universe as more of a mirror instead of someone or some energy that's exerting influence over your life,
You'll realize that you're the creator of your life.
Your eternal soul is the one that gets to direct the movie that is your life.
And when you see the universe as a benevolent place,
It's almost as if you're creating your own movie that is your life,
And you're the writer that's saying,
Okay,
This main character lives in a world that is a happy world,
A beautiful world.
So you're not creating the world that you live in,
But you are essentially creating your experience of the world based on the perspective you choose to have on it.
And we all know that there are some people that live in a world where everything is beautiful.
There's never been a better time to be alive.
Although there are problems in the world that are really serious and need solving,
The rate of technology is improving.
The standard and quality of life for the majority of people around the world is increasing.
There's so many things to focus on that are good.
But then there's also the negative perspective where you can watch the news and focus on all the things about the world that are bad,
The existential threats and the challenges that we're facing that we've never faced before.
And one really important thing to note is,
I don't know about your experience,
But people who I've seen who are genuinely happy,
Who are feeling very excited to be alive and optimistic,
Don't deny the negative things that are happening in the world.
I don't know what you've experienced,
But in my own experience,
I feel the people that are truly alive,
Who are truly excited and grateful for the world they live in,
Are the people who know who they are,
They're clear on what they like,
What kind of life they want to live,
And they're also constantly learning about the world,
What's happening,
And about the people around them in their life.
They really care about their community and their relationships.
And it's not to say that in order to be happy you have to pretend that bad things aren't happening.
It's actually the opposite,
Because whatever you deny or suppress grows bigger.
And if you deny or suppress the pain that's occurring in the world,
Very likely you're also denying or suppressing the darkness that lives within you.
I think we all have darkness that we inherited or that have come to us as we've grown up.
And it's so important that we shine the light of our soul,
Of our true self,
Which is pure light,
Onto those darker shadows and see them for what they are so that we can heal,
So that we can release the illusion.
Because in my opinion,
Darkness and shadow is all areas that haven't been touched yet by the light.
And when you shine the light of awareness onto them,
You see them for what they are,
And then they can be healed.
So I see each of us as an internal soul of pure light who has chosen to incarnate on earth,
And then once we've come to earth and grown,
We've experienced shadow,
We've experienced the duality of this world.
And now it's up to us to remember who we are at the soul level,
Which is pure light,
And to not deny or look away from the shadows,
Because then they'll just get bigger,
But instead to look at them clearly as the true self,
The soul,
And we shine the light,
Which is just awareness.
Awareness is light.
So if there's a dark room,
It's scary until you turn on the light,
But once the light's on,
You see everything clearly,
And it's not scary anymore.
Now I know this seems a little bit of a tangent,
But it's really,
Really important to live a balanced life.
When you see the world as a benevolent place,
It doesn't mean you have to deny the bad things that are happening.
And I think so many people think that,
I understand from a manifestation point of view,
That you want to focus on the good and not focus on the bad,
But I want to be very clear that that does not have to mean that you deny the bad.
There's a very,
Very big difference between focusing on the good and denying the bad and pretending it doesn't exist,
And focusing on the good and acknowledging and shining the light of awareness on the bad as well.
So,
I know this is a little bit heavier than it may have first seemed at first glance with the quote,
But the reason why I say this is because I want to address the things that may prevent you from seeing the universe as a benevolent universe.
And I want to shine a light on the things that may prevent you from falling in love with your life,
Because you're such a beautiful energy,
A unique frequency,
That I truly believe has chosen to come here on earth for a specific purpose and reason.
And your presence makes the world a better place.
You are bringing that light of love into the world.
And the way that we see ourselves is a mirrored reflection of the way we see the world.
So,
When we choose to see the world as a negative place,
Very often there are parts of ourselves that we see as negative,
And we're projecting that onto the world,
Because,
As I mentioned earlier,
There's nearly an unlimited things that we can choose to focus on in a world filled with 8 billion people where we have access to the internet,
Which connects us to every single part of the world,
Or nearly every single part,
In a way that we've never been able to before as humans,
Which is to say that there's practically unlimited evidence to focus and feed any single belief that you hold within yourself.
And so,
There are bad things,
And there are good things,
And there's a billion things in between on that spectrum.
But very often,
The things that we choose to focus on in the world are a reflection of the way that we see ourselves,
Or the way that we focus on what's happening within us.
And that's why you hear that spiritual quote often,
Again,
I don't know the exact quote,
But,
I first tried to change the world,
And then I became wise and realized I changed myself.
And it's all about changing the perspective.
But I keep emphasizing this point because it's so important that when you really love yourself,
And you love every part of yourself as a human being and a soul,
You love the light,
The dark,
The shadow,
Everything,
The full spectrum of who you are,
Then you also love the full spectrum of the world.
And if you're able to sit with your own shadows,
Sit with your own darkness,
And love yourself,
Love your shadows,
Love your darkness,
Love all of you,
Then when you look out into the world,
And you see the bad things that are happening and the suffering,
You don't pretend they don't exist and deny them,
But you can love them,
Just like you love yourself.
And the same is true with all your light and all your beauty,
And all your divine power.
The full spectrum is something that you can love,
And you don't have to focus on any single part,
You can love all of it.
And when you love yourself truly and unconditionally,
You can also sit with and love all parts of the world exactly as it is.
And when I say true,
Unconditional love,
When you have that love for yourself,
You don't feel like any part of you needs to change.
You can still grow and evolve,
But you're not telling yourself that I will only love myself once I grow more or evolve in this way,
Or heal my shadow or heal my divine wound.
And the same is with the world.
When you genuinely love the world as you love yourself,
You're saying that I love it right now,
And I'm not waiting until it changes or these things are fixed before I can love it.
Even with these bad,
Horrible things happening,
I'm still loving it unconditionally,
And I want those things to change.
And when I feel inspired,
I'll proactively do things to change the world and make it better.
But at the same time,
You're not withholding that love until things are fixed or changed in the way that you see they need to be fixed or changed.
You're loving it exactly as it is.
And this is where it becomes really interesting,
Because the original quote is,
The universe wants you to be genuinely happy and overflowing with childlike joy.
And I say this because it's a way to instill that belief in you that the universe wants you to be happy.
But ultimately,
What the universe wants the most is what you want.
Whatever you want for yourself is how the universe will respond.
So you are the creator of your own life,
And if you want to be happy and overflowing with genuine childlike joy,
That's also what the universe wants for you.
But if you don't want that,
And you want something else,
Then the universe wants that for you.
Now,
I use the universe as this term to point to something greater than ourselves,
But when you connect with your higher self,
With your soul,
You become one with the universe.
There is no hierarchy,
And you are the universe just like every other single person and thing in this world is the universe.
It's not to say that anyone is more powerful than anyone else or at a higher level,
Because every single thing is divine.
It's all the energy of love manifested into a unique and unrepeatable form.
So the most important and powerful thing you can do to change your life is to wake up to who you truly are.
And basically,
Any quote that I share ultimately will come back to that conclusion.
When you remember who you are,
Then you have the power and the ability to create your life,
And ultimately at the end of the day,
Your ego may want to create a specific life that looks a certain way.
But I believe,
At least what I found through my own life experience,
Is what our soul craves is to have clear eyes,
To see the beauty that's already present.
And ultimately,
All we really,
Really want at the deepest level,
In my opinion,
Is a change in perspective,
And not a forced change,
But a genuine change from our heart,
When the lens is extremely clear and we see the world as it is.
And when we see the world as it is,
It means we see ourselves as we are.
And that's when we just love things unconditionally.
And we realize that we're able to love things unconditionally because we are love.
So you see things as you are.
And the whole game of this human experience is getting rid of all these stories and false ideas that we've inherited that make us think we're a certain way that isn't actually true to who we are,
To find out who we are underneath it all,
Underneath all these stories.
And you and I,
At the core,
Are the same.
We are love.
We are the essence of love.
And it's that roomy quote where I surrendered my drop and became the ocean.
And that's what this whole game is about.
It's unmasking all of these false layers to realize that we're already the ocean and we're already swimming in pure love.
But the way we see it is by changing our perspective.
And when we realize that this is what the universe wants for us,
We're truly realizing at the core that this is what we want for ourselves,
To recognize who we truly are.
So I know this quote went pretty deep,
A lot deeper than I expected,
To be honest.
And it may feel a little bit more of a distance travel than you expected to go when you heard the original quote.
But I think it's so beautiful to recognize that you are the love that you seek.
And instead of trying to change things in the external world,
Just love all of you,
The full spectrum that you are as a human being here on Earth and as an eternal soul who chose to come here on Earth.
And when you love that full spectrum,
Then everything in your external world,
All the life circumstances,
The way you see the world,
Will resolve themselves.
And it's not to say that the big problems of the world will suddenly go away,
But you'll find peace with the way things are,
Instead of waiting to this future moment that will never arrive,
Where then you feel that you can finally love yourself and be safe and feel at peace in the world.
When you find those feelings you crave inside of yourself right now,
Then you'll realize that nothing in the external world can shift or throw you off-center,
Away from those good feelings.
And then you feel truly at home here on Earth,
Because you feel truly at home within yourself.
