So,
Those of you who are just coming on,
Just so you know,
Everyone is invited to this Google Doc and I'm adding all of Garesha's notes that are in the side into the Google Doc so you have them if you need to access it while we're going through the presentation at all,
So that it's there for you.
So I just created 10 points,
We will cover all these 10 points in one hour and maybe one more session on so that we should understand why we should study Gita and why and how and then we will go by chapter by chapter what is most important in all the 18 chapters,
What masses it conveys and Gita,
Gita is a poem,
Poetry,
A song.
Now sometime you start singing in the bathroom,
How come you sing because if your mind does not,
Store it,
You cannot sing but if the mind does not like it,
You don't sing,
It doesn't store but that is habitual.
So this Gita is like a song of life,
Song of self-discovery,
Song how to live,
Personal,
Professional,
Social life with peace,
Prosperity and success.
You see that,
That is the goal that we are going to understand.
So first topic obviously because that will inspire our mind to study Gita for the sake of the self-discovery.
You know,
Do you know the Carl Jung or Carl Jung,
Carl Gustav Jung,
Who was a I think Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalysis who founded analytical psychology,
So he studied Gita and what he said the idea that the man is like unto an inverted tree seems to have been current in the bygone ages.
You know exactly he is translating perhaps the sixth or the seventh chapter a couple of verses.
So the link with the Vedic conception is provided by a plateau in which it states,
Behold we are not an earthly but a heavenly plant.
So do not understand in a Western concept of heavenly that heaven is within us.
He is talking about the self-discovery.
So he got some idea about what Gita is a true scripture of the human race,
A living creation rather than a book.
That is what majority of commentators say.
It is not a book.
It is how to live here and now,
How to live in excellence,
How to live in heightened state of awareness all the time.
That is what Gita teaches us.
So you see that Carl Jung have clearly understood that message of the Gita.
We have another guy,
Aldous Huxley,
He was an English writer and a philosopher.
He is very famous.
So what he has written,
Adol's Huxley,
See that Bhagavad Gita is the most systematic statement of spiritual evolution.
Yesterday we studied the term evolution,
Evolved,
Evolving and yet to be evolved.
So understand this spiritual evolution in that context of endowing value to the mankind.
It is one of the most clear and comprehensive summary of perennial philosophy ever revealed.
Perennial.
It is relevant.
It was relevant thousands of years ago and it is relevant here and now.
See the beauty of it.
Bhagavad Gita has a profound influence on the spirit of mankind by its devotion to the God which is manifested by actions.
Means you are not going to the religious places,
You don't have a cult dogma and belief.
What he says that is very important to understand.
Gita,
Very important to understand what is that?
That inaction,
It is not in confined to the cult dogma belief.
Aldous Huxley,
He was very famous and he has written a lot of poems and then he went into understanding these philosophies.
Albert Einstein,
For thousands of years Bhagavad Gita has inspired millions of seekers and readers.
Albert Einstein also said a lot about Gita.
That we will understand when I pick up some of the verses.
So there was Austrian polymath,
He was a theologian.
Dr.
Albert Schweizer,
When I read Bhagavad Gita and reflect about how God created this universe,
Everything else seems to be so superfluous.
What it means?
It gives a very beautiful,
Logical answer.
What is creation?
What is the goal of the creation?
You know,
I'm suffering,
Sometimes we blame and complain,
Go why the hell you created me,
I'm suffering.
Why the God should ask you to create you?
Why you are blaming him if there is a God that exists?
So you see that these very burning questions where we have a lot of confusions is clearly answered by our these great in the Gita and that is why I'm picking up some of the comments.
The great masters now see that Sri Aurobindo,
One thing I should tell you something about Aurobindo,
It's especially his childhood.
Hardly he was 11 years old,
Parents were doctors,
So in British India and maybe around,
Maybe something around 1890 or 95,
Something like that.
So the medical profession at that time,
The parents,
The couple sent his son Aurobindo to England under the protection of a nanny or a maid with a strict instruction.
What is the strict instruction?
That this my boy,
My son should never be exposed to anything about the Eastern wisdom,
No veda,
No Upanishad,
No yoga.
No yoga.
So he was studying in English in most of the best school there where the family of Elizabeth used to study because he has a lot of money.
So in three years he studied everything and there was one examination that he has to pass that was horse riding so that he can become an officer in the British India to go back to India.
He refused to do so.
He said something is happening within me.
I feel that sense of emptiness and he came back to India at the age of 13 and 14.
He studied all the text by himself.
That is another process in yoga is there.
When you reach to a higher state of meditation you can reveal the knowledge from these texts.
He learned Sanskrit by himself and his two books summarizes all the teachings of Upanishad,
Gita,
Yoga but you have to live,
You have to become a very higher level of a seeker to understand these two books,
Life Divine and Synthesis of Yoga.
First master he wanted to learn meditation.
First master,
Perhaps in South India his master name was Master Lele.
Can you guide me about meditation?
Yes close your eyes first instruction.
He gave only three instructions that's all.
Master gave him three instructions.
Sit down close your eyes first instruction.
Watch all these thoughts are coming from outside.
Second instruction before the thought enters into your mind throw them out.
Don't allow them to enter.
If you are a higher level of a seeker you grasp the things very fast.
What happened to Aurobindo?
He continued sitting into meditation only for three days.
Only for three days.
We find even half an hour is so terrible.
And after three days he experienced that state of infinite ocean of the space as he writes.
He became one of the greatest masters ever lived in the modern century.
He died in 1950 but his contribution to yoga to the Eastern wisdom is immense.
What he says about Gita,
Bhagavad Gita is the most systematic statement of spiritual evolution and doing value to the mankind.
It is one of the most clear and comprehensive summaries of perennial philosophy.
Who am I?
What is the world?
What is this existence?
How to live?
What is suffering?
Possibly will take up next week the psychology of desire.
I will pick up some of the verses and you will understand.
So this is the beauty of this Gita and also Aurobindo has written a very good commentary on Gita and it is known as authentic commentary.
So you know Henry,
David was an American naturalist,
Transcendentalist,
So what he says about Gita,
See that the idea that the man is like unto an inverted tree seems to have been current in by Ganesha.
So again he is referring to that particular verse in the chapter.
Harman Hesse,
Hesse is a German-born Swiss poet and also a transcendentalist,
He is very famous in the Europe.
So what he says about the Gita,
In the morning I bared my intellect in the stupendous and cosmogonic philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita in comparison with which our modern world and its literature seems insignificant,
Inconsequential,
Is a very well-read known philosopher.
You know about Mahatma Gandhi?
Mahatma Gandhi has written a book which is the title of the book is Experiment with the Truth.
It is based on Gita.
So you can find other,
There are also great masters.
Now what exactly the second take up the meaning of the Bhagavad Gita,
Bhagavad Gita,
Bhagavad,
Use the word divine or spirituality or pertaining to the self.
Bhagavad and Gita means poem,
Song,
So it means the song of my real self.
There was a Rumi of India whose name is Kabir.
Kabir,
You are exposed to Rumi but there is a Rumi of India,
I call him Rumi of India Kabir.
What he says,
It's in Hindi so you need not to but you just remember the Kabir what he says and write down the message.
He was simply,
He was born in the family of a weaver,
Very poor family.
Later he got enlightenment.
What he says,
Mind and ignorance and illusion are essentially one.
If you practice yoga that ignorance merges into mind.
Did you understand Brandy?
What is delusion?
My mind says,
No just example,
Example.
I never meant it,
No I don't mean it.
So now let me give example to Lara now.
Lara is crazy so this when I say this crazy it is coming from the mind,
This is an illusion.
So this comes from the mind and this dissolves into the mind.
When it dissolves into the mind,
When I have a right perception,
Ignorance is gone.
This is the message of the Gita.
So this Rumi of India Kabir says why people do not understand why they are engaged in blame,
Name,
Complain,
Game,
Why they don't look inside and find their real nature.
That is the message of the Gita.
I should pick up that also.
The second verse it says,
This is what the basic fundamental teaching of the Gita.
It is in Hindi so I'm not,
It's not a verse but I'm just translating into English.
Mind knows everything what is right in wrong and still it commits suicide,
It commits fault.
Why I fight with you?
Because you don't do what I like you to do.
What that means I have an expectation from you.
You see that?
Manjana Tusa Bhaat,
Mind knows everything and still it commits a fault.
What it commits a fault?
It enters into anxiety,
Stress,
Duality and conflict.
Unnecessarily,
Manjana Tusa Bhaat,
Jana T What kind of an intelligent person you are?
Now he's,
You know,
He's teasing us,
All of us.
What kind of a,
Are you really intelligent?
That is what he is questioning.
So what kind of an intelligent?
So now he gives a beautiful example,
A simile that you have kept a candle in your hand in the midnight and you fell into the well.
That kind of intelligence that you have.
Did you understand that?
You are walking in the midnight with a light,
With a candle in your hand and still you are blind and you fell into the well and you died.
This is what our life is.
Our mind says I will settle the score with you my honey.
Then why you say my honey?
Now I'm just using to explain,
You know,
I'm using the word honey etc.
Just to explain you the principle.
No,
He is wrong and she is wrong.
First make yourself right.
Forget the rest.
That is the message of it.
No,
He or she does everything.
Come on,
Hold your mind.
Now what the message is?
That my mind does not want to look me.
It does not want to go inside.
It is so much obsessed with the things and objects outside.
It does not understand.
It does not want to understand.
And there the Gita comes.
Are you getting it?
Bhagavad Gita,
The song,
Song of my day to day life from moment to moment,
How to live into that state in peace and happiness and in harmony.
He doesn't say go to the Himalayas become a monk.
Gita teaches us to live the same life but you should have a total complete orientation.
There's a 180 degree turn.
You're doing the same thing outside but internal change is there.
How can you bring about that change?
That is why it is known as Gita.
Now is there only one Gita?
No,
There are 64 Gita's.
Means there are 64 texts named after the Gita.
There is Bhagavad Gita that I studied with my master.
There is an Avdhoot Gita.
There is a Guru Gita.
There is a Ganesh Gita.
There is a Ram Gita.
A lot of Gita's.
There is a Uddhav Gita.
A lot of Gita's but this Gita can be understood by a layman.
The greatest Gita that I cover on Saturday's session,
Verse by verse,
That is known as the greatest of all the Gita's.
Ashtavakra Gita.
But this is Bhagavad Gita.
It contains 700 verses,
18 chapters.
18 chapters and every chapter is one yoga.
Every chapter explains one school of yoga,
Not one style of yoga.
Style of yoga that we have created.
I humbly say those who do not know the real import of yoga,
They have created different styles of yoga.
Yoga is one.
So 18 chapters,
700 verses,
Every chapter,
Every section is one school of yoga,
Clearly defined.
Clear?
Now from where this Gita came,
That needs to be understood.
So there are,
There's a greatest epic ever written in the world.
The name of that epic is Mahabharata.
Gita is a part of Mahabharata.
Means what that means?
Gita is a part of Mahabharata.
Mahabharata is the name of the greatest epic,
Greatest text written,
Ever written in the world.
It contains what?
It only contains 100,
000 verses.
Means 200,
000 lines of Sanskrit phrases and sentences,
Out of which Gita is taken out,
A gist,
A summary,
A right message,
With 700 verses means 1,
400 lines and it has become Bhagavad Gita.
Right?
It is a dialogue between a master and a disciple.
Bhagavad Gita is,
I think it has translation in more than 50 different languages.
It has more than 400 million copies sold in different languages.
It is so popular.
Why?
It can be understood by a layman.
Ashtavakra Gita very difficult.
Guru Gita still difficult.
Agdhoot Gita very deep.
Unless you become reached to a level of a seeker then only you can understand but this is.
So Mahabharata is a great epic.
Now understand who is the author?
Author is our great master who wrote Veda,
The Vyasa.
Veda Vyasa,
Who discovered,
I always say Mahabharata is a great epic text and this Veda Vyasa simply known as Vyasa contributed the basic fundamental principles of yoga,
Tantra,
Meditation,
Etc,
Etc,
Etc.
As I told you before that,
Yeah,
But let me just complete this story and then I'll tell you.
So Vyasa has written more than thousands of the texts and so he was contemplating and thinking.
So he conceived an idea to write this great epic.
So he wanted a stenographer in those days,
Five or six thousand years ago.
So those stenographer,
He found a stenographer and who was his stenographer?
Lord Ganesha.
You have heard,
I see the picture of Ganesha,
As a backdrop of Kate.
Do you see that?
Ganesha.
Now see the beauty of the genius and you know I what I used to say when the knowledge is revealed in the highest state of meditation,
You become extempo,
The words flow out of you because the mind is 100% clear about the concept.
So Ganesha said,
Okay,
I will dictate everything whatever you speak but there is one condition,
You have to continue to speak.
The moment you stop speaking,
I will stop writing.
There's a beautiful understanding and then we will understand the import of its meaning in yoga.
So Vyasa,
Vyasa was also a genius,
Vyasa said,
You have to write every verse with clear understanding.
If you do not understand the verse and you write it and I ask you,
Then I will punish you.
They both agreed.
So Vyasa used to dictate,
Ganesha used to take some time to understand,
In the meantime the Vyasa could dictate another verse.
You understand that?
That is how this,
This Mahabharata was written,
Vyasa and the Ganesha.
Don't write anything unless you understand.
It is very clear,
I am neither Vyasa,
You are not Ganesha.
But still apply that principle.
We like something we write but then we forget,
We don't understand.
That was the tradition of yoga.
That was the tradition of yoga.
Think of that.
So the moment you go to a grocery store,
You want to know something,
Keep your mind aware and alert and calm and peaceful so that whatever you inquire,
You understand.
I had to buy a big monitor where I'm looking at you,
So I spent about five days understanding all the attributes of a monitor.
You know,
You get that habit.
I compare the price,
All the attributes,
Less price,
With warranty,
I got it from the Costco.
Why not I should do it?
Why not?
Knowledge is supreme.
So Gita says knowledge of the self is the supreme.
That is the message of the Gita.
Sometimes my son says,
Why dad,
You know,
Just bite,
Why should I bite?
Let me understand it clearly.
How it will work.
So that the moment it comes to me,
I just connected and I'm working.
That is another message.
Your attitude will change.
Your mind will never say that I don't,
No,
No,
No,
I don't know about it.
So let me know it.
If I don't know about the monitor,
Let me know it.
Everything is available.
Why?
So that the mind is not confused.
Honey,
You became angry.
Let me contemplate why you become angry and how to change my attitude.
You see,
The things will change in your life.
That is what Gita teaches.
We don't want to do it.
Why we don't have time?
We are very busy.
Remain busy,
Remain stressed.
History.
It is more than about,
I would say,
Around 3,
3,
I'm summarizing and giving you a context of the Gita so that there was a king,
Great king,
Who had two sons.
One was blind,
Older,
And the younger was very good,
Capable.
So normally there is a tradition,
The oldest one should become the king,
Should take over the charge from his father,
But he was blind,
So the younger one was made the king.
Now see that when the younger one was made the king,
So he had an older son than the son of his other brother.
Do you see that?
Do you see the conflict?
The older brother has his son who was one year younger than the son of his own younger brother.
So now younger brother is the king,
So his son should become the king.
After the retirement.
Clear?
And now I will explain you the context.
So it is in the form of a story in the entire Mahabharata and in Gita these 18 chapters were extracted from Mahabharata that becomes the dialogue between the master and a disciple,
But I'm explaining you the context.
So Dhritarashtra is the name of a younger brother,
Pandu was the name of,
Just for the sake of understanding,
And then I will return instantly to give you the context.
This blind guy was very cruel,
Always full of cheat and deceit,
And that cheating and deceit has increased when the younger became the king.
He wanted his son to be the king of the kingdom.
Clear?
A context we are understanding.
And there the fight began between the two clans of brothers.
So the younger son has younger brother had hundred sons and the older one has only five sons.
All are warriors,
They were educated and trained in one monastery,
But all the hundred sons of the younger brother Dhritarashtra who was blind,
Used all means to defeat,
All kinds of cheating and deceiting,
Doing all the criminal acts.
On the other side,
The younger brother,
Five sons were pious,
Following the right path.
They were tortured,
Humiliated,
And ultimately the time came when by cheating and deceit,
The younger brother with hundred sons took over the kingdom by cheating and deceit.
So these five brothers,
You can say hired an ambassador who is the originator of Kriyayoga Krishna.
Please go and ask them that they should give me only five villages,
Small villages.
We will live happily.
We will live happily.
I'll tell you the real life incident that happened in my life was quite interesting.
I got inspired by this Gita.
So now see that the sons of that blind guy was not ready even to give five villages.
You know,
If you don't want to spare even $5,
000 if you have five million,
What kind of a person you are?
Just take an example.
And the Krishna went there to the younger blind king and his brother and his sons.
Now see,
I will,
I will refer those versus later.
I'm just giving you a reference point.
So he said,
They are after all your brothers.
They are brothers' kids.
Why don't you give even the five villages?
Why you are doing such a cheating and deceit?
So one of the oldest son of the blind guy said,
Krishna,
Don't teach me I know what is right and good.
The real context of the Gita starts from there.
Don't teach me I know what is right and good,
What is virtue and what is vice.
Even then I know it.
My mind goes to the cheating and deceit.
That is the answer of this son of the blind guy.
How many times I don't want to be angry and still I become angry.
I don't want to react.
I react.
So Gita is telling you,
Are you aware of your nature?
What the hell you are doing?
You,
You dated with the guy for so many years.
Then you said soulmate and now you are complaining.
That is the masses.
See that?
Do you see that?
And from the other brother side who has the five brothers,
Arjuna was the disciple of Krishna and a friend of a disciple.
Arjuna never said that I'm not,
No I'm going to fight and kill everyone.
He said,
No what should I do Krishna?
Guide me.
Guide me the path.
What is the best thing to do?
Why should I kill my brothers?
I know I can fight.
What we witness in the world today.
Recently I was listening to the news of Robin Hood.
You get an idea?
Robin Hood,
You know,
Get everything,
Extract everything.
So it is the story of the human psychology,
Frustration,
Cheating.
What should I do?
I am kind.
I am compassionate.
I am good.
I am right.
You know,
We have that notion sometime in idea why people are doing this.
Why my honey,
You are doing this like this.
So we get an answer of these challenges that we face in everyday life.
That is the context.
So whether it is between our relationship,
Whether it has to do in our professional life,
Whether it is to do it in my personal life,
It is that context.
In that context the Gita is relevant.
Listening to these verses,
Call and response,
I will definitely do it,
But then translation and listening,
Learning and forgetting it.
That is not Gita.
Song of life.
I must sing in my life.
Did you understand the context?
That is what the many religious,
Many religion have created a concept of virtue and wise,
Demon and God.
You see that?
Both are working in us.
That is present in my mind.
You know,
Akam brand is so more beautiful than me,
So I'm jealous of it.
That jealousy part is the hundred sons of a blind king.
Why they depicted the character of a blind?
I don't see the right knowledge.
Even if I see it,
I'm blind.
That is the masses.
You need a courage to open your eyes,
To change your life.
We need a tremendous courage.
You know,
Many people come to me for and I have tried every means.
What you will do?
My simple answer is that why your mind is too much focused and obsessed with your honey,
The same amount of energy should be directed to understand your own mind and the problem will be solved.
What they say?
Oh,
Do you mean I am wrong?
Blind.
You are blind.
You cannot be taught.
Are you getting it?
Sometime we do it.
It is our own life you might have experienced.
We do it with the honey,
We do it with our kids,
We do it with our friends.
I have a wonderful friend.
I invited her to come to my house.
Please join this.
Don't pay me.
Join this.
No,
No,
No,
No.
I know everything is good.
I don't like ego blind.
You are blind.
So when we have ego,
When we have likes and dislikes,
When we have reaction,
When we blame and complain,
We do it with our friends.
When we have ego,
When we have likes and dislikes,
When we have reaction,
When we blame and complain,
We are blind.
Gita opens our eyes.
That is the beauty of the Gita.
I'm laying a foundation so that it becomes very easy those who have not done.
So what?
So two clan of brothers.
Now it is very,
So two types of,
Two types of thought process going on.
So we will understand what yoga says.
I will bring that verse or that sutra.
There is a where it says Shreyas and Preyas.
You know in the great commentator of yoga sutra says what Patanjali means by the mind subjective in the objective states.
So what he says?
So he says that have you seen the river?
Yes,
River has one flow,
But this mind is also like it river,
But it has two opposite flows.
One flow is right and good,
Other flow is what I like and what is pleasant to me.
Did you understand that?
Shreyas and Preyas.
Shreyas and Preyas.
Now Lara has written it.
Shreyas what is right and good?
I have to first find out before I take an action and the other part,
Other flow is what I like and what is pleasant to me.
Honey,
You should be doing like this because I like it,
But if you don't do it I will leave you done.
My 10-12 years of my relationship is done because what I like you are not doing it.
So the Krishna in the Gita teaches the path of the Shreyas and the path of the Preyas.
Mentally inside with that knowledge you start reading the path of the Shreyas,
90% of your problem is gone.
Gita promises that.
We study Gita to study ourself.
I have been repeating it again.
Study Gita to study yourself.
Yes,
There is a beautiful,
We will do it later,
But I'm just explaining you.
The cow herd milk of what says as you extract the cream from the milk we have to extract that cream of the wisdom by listening,
Learning the principles in the Gita.
Do you see cream is there when you bring the milk,
A gallon of milk you don't see it,
But when you churn it the cream comes out of it.
So with reference,
You know,
Simply you study and you learn it and that's all.
It will not help.
We have to churn it in our mind.
We have to contemplate and reflect.
We have seen the context why it is happening,
Why the stress is there in my life,
Why the anxiety is there in my life,
Why there is a conflict.
I must find an answer in this Gita.
You will find an answer.
I have come here to complete 300 hours of teachers training and you are giving me such a crazy task,
Not interested.
Not interested,
It means no,
No yoga.
One thing that we will,
Gita will show you the path of three main yoga.
There are all types of schools of yoga is covered,
But the basic is path of karma,
Path of action,
Path of knowledge,
And path of love.
So in that part of the knowledge,
The yoga sutra is also included a little bit.
So there are other schools of yoga,
18 chapters,
18 schools of yoga.
It teaches you meditation,
It gives you Hatha yoga,
It gives you Raja yoga,
It gives you Gyan yoga,
It gives you Karm yoga,
It gives you Paata yoga,
Yoga of knowledge,
Yoga of love.
Everything is there.
It is the summary of more than I would say 2000 texts.
It is in dialogue and it's a question and answer form.
Who is the disciple,
The Arjuna?
Arjuna is one of the five brothers who was not given even the five villages in the Krishna the originator of the yoga,
Who says come on fight,
Kill your brothers,
Take the kingdom back.
We will understand why he said this,
Why he said this,
There is a demon sitting in me,
I have to kill this.
Reference point is that.
I have,
You know,
Sometimes what happens,
Recently one beautiful,
And you know women are always beautiful,
That's what I say,
But women is,
I'm giving her lessons every week and she said,
I'm rephrasing it in a good way.
Yeah,
Let me leave it for the time being.
I'm not able to rephrase so that you will pick up.
So you see that that demon is within me,
That anxiety is within me,
That reaction is within me.
How to get out of it?
Yeah,
Within a few minutes we are finishing.
So that is the way the Gita shows us in every verse.
The Arjuna is one of the five brothers who is the disciple,
Who is the seeker,
Who is the seeker,
And Krishna the originator of yoga and meditation is the master.
Another part,
Arjuna was highly successful in the professional side,
He has never been defeated in any war.
And even then we are rich by wealth,
We are rich by our house,
We are rich by so many gazettes,
But still we are frustrated.
Why we are frustrated?
How come it happens?
How to bring about that change?
That is what the Gita teaches us.
I'm not saying that we are not going to be frustrated by that change.
That is what the Gita teaches us.
We are going to take up.
There is,
And I have already told you,
There is a unique tradition in the Eastern wisdom.
These are authentic texts.
Gita is in most authentic texts,
So there must be a commentator.
So I have to understand based on the commentary of a great master.
So I referred you,
This is,
You know,
There are many other commentators.
They are a little bit complex,
But the great master who lived until 1980,
He followed the Eastern wisdom.
So his commentary is very authentic.
Swami Chinmayananda,
The holy Gita.
So it will help you understand.
So I normally tell that American mind can easily understand the import of the Gita.
Other people have simply translated,
They have their own interpretation.
So we cannot accept,
You should not accept my interpretation.
You should accept the interpretation and commentary of these great masters.
So I will pick up three commentaries of Sri Aurobindo,
Swami Chinmayananda and Shankara to explain you what exactly is the message of the Gita.
Swami Chinmayananda.
There are great masters,
You know,
You can,
If you want to study,
But you have to study all,
But first start studying only what we are learning in.
So these are the great commentators,
Sri Shankara,
Madhva Acharya,
Aurobindo,
Even Mahatma Gandhi.
There was a great commentary by a social activist.
Then he became a monk whose name is Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
Then Swami Chinmayananda,
Swami Prabhu Padha and many other great masters.
Briefly I'm touching it,
But I will touch in great length.
Now come to the four goals of the life,
Four goals of the life,
The eighth point.
The eighth point that I wrote it,
So you see that if you,
You will appreciate it,
What you would appreciate,
What exactly we want from our life.
We are fairly intelligent people,
Average.
Now you can say we are fairly intelligent people.
We are communicating to each other,
One another.
So the first,
You know,
Goal is that pleasure happiness.
What is that pleasure happiness?
I want to enjoy my life with different kinds of pleasure.
It may be a physical pleasure of sex,
Having wealth to buy a house and having a car and the clothes,
Isn't it?
Pleasure happiness,
Right?
That is the one activity that everyone does,
Everyone does,
Right?
Second pursuit of happiness is our satisfaction happiness.
We find happiness in working as a professional.
You see that if I don't work,
I don't earn,
Isn't it?
That is one aspect.
Second aspect is that whatever I work in the professional life,
I enjoy.
So it gives me a kind of satisfaction.
That is why I say I have chosen my own profession.
Everyone does it.
Clear?
And then we have the third happiness.
I follow the value,
Some value.
Either I follow,
You know,
I belong to one religion or a God dogma believe,
Even if I don't belong to them,
I see this honesty is good,
Integrity is good,
I should follow honesty,
Integrity,
Morality,
Discipline,
Etc,
Etc.
That gives me peace and happiness,
Isn't it?
Right?
So all the three types of happiness,
Every human being works in their life.
Look at the Bill Gates,
Value happiness.
He donated 120 billion dollars.
I was listening to his interview yesterday,
The previous interview.
You see,
It's a value happiness.
Value.
I will eradicate malaria from the world because I have the resources.
Value happiness.
So nothing is big or small.
The value is a value.
I keep that value in my relationship.
That is even greater than what Bill Gates is doing.
Understand that.
It's not a value.
It's a value.
Understand that.
Value cannot be compared with wealth.
Now I'm just talking to the masses of the Gita.
Now see,
These three activities we are engaged in all the time.
Some person does it,
You know,
There is a permutation and combination.
There is a different proportion of the pleasure happiness,
Satisfaction happiness and the value happiness.
Now this Gita,
Yoga,
Eastern wisdom says there is another activity that you have to introduce in your life is the self-discovery.
Then alone you can reach to the permanent state of happiness.
Otherwise,
No amount of wealth can buy you.
Happiness.
No,
Even if you are the highest level Bill Gates,
You know,
Some people abuse him.
You still you are not happy because you have to discover that permanent happiness inside you.
So yoga,
Eastern wisdom introduced the fourth type of activity exclusively for yourself,
For your own evolution.
That is the great masses of yoga.
What is that evolution?
Why I get upset?
Why I enter into conflict?
Why the hell you know?
I love this guy so much and now after a few years I hate it.
Let me understand.
Let me understand.
I heard the story of an American guy when I was in India.
I don't know who he was,
But I'm telling you.
So he married nine times and then he divorced nine times obviously.
So he went to a psychiatrist.
He said,
Tell me what is the problem with my all the nine beautiful women?
Is the problem lies with those nine beautiful women or with me?
Examine me.
Must it be a good lie?
You see,
I do not understand the problem lies with me.
I marry and I divorce.
Oh,
You are crazy.
That's why I left you.
Second,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth,
And ninth.
That is how we commit a lot of mistakes in our life and we continue to suffer in our life.
So how come I must know myself clearly?
Who am I once I know myself clearly?
How to know that knowledge,
That practice,
That journey is about the Gita.
It helps you to understand in every situation,
Whether it's a personal life,
Professional life,
Social life,
Whether you are doing yoga,
It gives you the sense,
Oh,
This is what I should be doing.
So that what happens?
It introduces the yoga in daily life.
In daily life.
That is the message of the Gita.
The last one that I'll take,
I'll take another five minutes.
You remember and you,
We will make it,
I will do it call and response next time.
But,
You know,
Always keep this,
This verse in your head.
Always this verse.
You have seen my logo.
I have written the last one.
So much so that your intellect inspires you 24 by 7.
This is the fourth activity that I must be doing while living my personal life,
My professional life,
My social life,
24 by 7.
And the days and the weeks are not far.
You become a seeker and the moment you become a seeker,
The life becomes beautiful.
Now understand this verse,
What he says.
The real action in life is that action which does not promote any attachment.
Again,
Example of the honey.
Honey,
Why you are not doing like this attachment?
Come on,
Leave him or her,
Let her do and him do whatever they do.
Keep your mind cool.
Message,
I perform,
I should speak and act the way it should not create any attachment in my life.
You see that?
No attachment now from today.
You,
You drop the burden from your mind.
90% I can tell you.
You become free.
You become free.
Now that is the knowledge which elaborates you from the knowledge,
From the bond is.
What is the real knowledge?
What the master is saying?
The real knowledge is one by which I bring an end to the suffering,
All kinds of suffering in my life.
And then what is the other kind of knowledge?
That gives you the skills.
That makes you an expert driver.
I say,
For example,
That makes you an expert IT professional.
That makes you an expert teacher.
You learn certain skills.
You know how to get it.
Oh,
Close your eyes.
Namaste.
I used to make a joke of my friend,
You know,
So after the end of the class,
You know,
Namaste.
So I said,
Namaste.
I want to say it again.
But I must understand the meaning of Namaste.
I must understand the meaning of Namaste also.
So do you understand that point?
Real knowledge is one by which I discover myself.
Other knowledge is used to gain expertise to use in my personal,
Professional,
Social life.
But this knowledge will help me to discover my real nature,
Bring an end to the suffering.
So one knowledge gives me skills and expertise.
Other knowledge helps me to know myself.
What is that knowledge?
Yoga,
Gita,
Upanishad.
Did you get it?
That is what he's saying in the words.
It comes from Vishnu Purana.
Vishnu Purana.
I told you that Purana is a group of text.
There are 18 Puranas.
All other action.
You know,
When you treat the path of the self discovery,
The time comes,
You need not to make any effort.
You know your real nature and you think and you speak and you work and act in that state.
Done.
Other activities demand effort.
I'm ending this session with this.
How long it takes you to reach to a food store from your house?
Five minutes,
10 minutes,
15 minutes.
Right.
How long it takes you to come to my house,
Which is in Gilbert?
It may take 40,
50,
60 minutes.
Clear?
Now answer me.
How long it takes you to reach to yourself?
How long?
Where you are,
You are here and now.
Is there any time and space between you and yourself?
No.
When there is no time and space,
It will not take even a single second.
The question is wrong.
You know your real nature.
Always ask from today,
What,
How long it takes me to reach to myself?
That is the entire goal objective of this Gita.
While performing everything in my life.
Sometimes I have to become angry so I can play becoming angry to get the things done,
But don't become angry inside.
We'll talk about that.
Now,
If you have any question,
Let me know.
I will within five or ten minutes.
I will send you.
