Vagus Nerve Stimulation For Relaxation And Regulation

With Ayelle

Discover gentle, accessible practices to support your vagus nerve and invite your nervous system into greater relaxation and regulation. The vagus nerve is a major pathway of the parasympathetic nervous system, our body’s rest and digest response, and plays an important role in communication between the brain and body. Over three days, we’ll explore some of my favorite ways of working with the vagus nerve through sound, breath and touch. You’ll experience an extended humming practice, learn how to work with the breath and a longer exhale, and explore vagus nerve massage and soothing somatic touch. Rather than approaching nervous system regulation as something we need to force or perfect, this course invites you into a gentle conversation with your body, noticing what feels supportive, honoring your individual capacity, and discovering practices you can return to whenever you need a little more softness, settling or rest. These practices are suitable for beginners and can be adapted to meet you wherever you are today.

Lesson 2

The Soothing Breath

Our breath offers us a simple and accessible way to influence our internal state. In this session, we’ll explore the relationship between the vagus nerve, breath and heart rate, and learn why a longer exhale can support our relaxation response. We’ll then move into a gentle guided breathing practice designed to help the body slow down, soften and settle.
