Come either to a seat or rest on your back with your feet on the floor and your knees bent.
Place both hands onto your lower abdomen and as you do so just remind yourself to keep your shoulders soft,
Not creating too much tension through the upper part of your body.
Using your hands rested gently on your belly serves as a trigger and a reminder for us to focus our energy and the movement of our breath deep down into the lower abdomen.
Just begin to lengthen and extend out both your inhale and your exhale and with your hands remaining gently rested on your lower belly just begin to notice the rise and fall of your belly as you breathe.
So you might notice quite a big movement of your belly gently expanding on your inhale and drawing back to centre on your exhale and conversely you might not notice much movement at all if any.
So that's okay,
If you notice the movement if you can feel and sense this volumous expansive movement beneath your hands just continue like that drawing the energy of your breath deep into your belly.
If you can't notice too much movement or none at all just keep your hands remaining where they are and just imagine what it would feel like for your belly to expand as you inhale and soften back as you exhale.
We have all breathed beautifully when we were younger with big expansive volumous belly breaths so this simply is a remembrance,
Remembrance of how to breathe slowly and deeply and calmly.
So even if you have to exaggerate a little and actually in an efforted way push your belly out as you inhale and gently draw it back in as you exhale that's okay too.
You just want to create some movement in our lower belly,
Gently expanding outwards as you breathe in and gently the belly draws in as you exhale out.
Belly expands as you draw the breath in and softens as the breath pours out.
Just continue in this way just feeling the hands gently moving with each and every breath as it follows the rise and the fall of your belly.
The gentle pulsation of your breath.
Feel the wave-like movement rippling through your body as you breathe.
You being armed by yourself for the next few minutes bringing in a sense of calm,
Tranquility,
And restfulness into your day.
