In this first reflection, the meaning of grace is offered as generosity, respect, action, compassion, energy and gratitude. These attributes are very much in line with the Reiki precepts as well, suggesting that grace is achievable within our regular self-care Reiki practice. Beginning The Day With Reiki
Critical to living gracefully with Reiki at any age, is to approach each day with gratitude! The way we approach each day allows the living part of us to greet the living part of the new day with a positivity of energy ... or conversely with a negativity of energy. Gratitude will always win!

Lesson 3
Connecting With Our External Sun
In this session, Judith offers a new way to begin each day using the precept of gratitude and the connection of vital life energy in the body with Universal life force of the external sun, while using the words: "Thank you for this new day and for the healing blessings flowing into it and out from it." Added to this is the opportunity to add gratitude for healing blessings flowing to friends and family, offering time to do this within the gratitude moment. And finally to give thanks, in this exercise, to the Universe for opening hearts and minds throughout the world to love and to peace, that there might be more love and peace throughout the world.

Lesson 4
Re-establishing Your Self-Care Reiki Practice
Judith reassures us that regardless of when you were introduced to Reiki, it is never too late to pick it up again, if you have understandably let it slip along the way. And, you do not have to use a full body list of hand placements through a daily practice. One hand placement is enough! Even a five minute fingertip Gassho relaxation is a means of relaxing us when we are needing to be re-centered. At any time, reward yourself with rest and relaxation that includes a little heat on your lower back if it bothers you occasionally, or on other tired muscles, concurrently with your chosen hand placement, and accompanied by awareness of your breath.

Looking At The Importance Of One's Health Span
In this session, Judith describes something called "Health Span" and some of the important basics of health care that can increase the duration of your health span within your "life span." Each time you place your hands on your body, please acknowledge the self care you are offering yourself! You could be increasing your health span by doing so. Let it become a mindful awareness practice for you, rather than an unconscious habit.

Some Threats to Aging Gracefully
The take-away from research as we look at aging gracefully with Reiki needs to be preventative health care, of which Reiki plays a more vital role than you might have imagined; supported, of course, by annual medical check-ups including health markers on blood work, vision and hearing checks as required, and regular dental care.

Lonliness
How can we turn loneliness into a gift? The take-aways from this session include: Aging is not a time for allowing loneliness to rule your life! If loneliness, anxiety and fear are ruling your life by holding you in the grasps of their negative energies, then you are completely missing out on the gift of aging.

Lesson 9
Being Enough
The Usui precepts are a blueprint to help us to deal with your own personal issues as well as the common ones like worry and anger. By creating your own words you can, as part of your self-care Reiki practice, eliminate those things that cause you undue anxiety ... like fear for example. Apply the prefix of Usui’s precepts “Just for today” ... then add your own words to create a new affirmation such as those we have used in this session: Just for today I am enough ... and in the previous session ... I am strong.

Self-Care Reiki Breeds Forgiveness
Forgiveness is easier to realize when you feel strong inside and enough and have been successful in letting go of fears such as worry and anger. Your daily self-care Reiki practice, when used with intention and attention teaches you to tap into your vastness ... to enter into this sacred, healing, and meditative space ... your inner space of strength and vitality to join with Universal Life Force, from which to draw daily ... and learn to age gracefully.

Reiki Becomes An Intuitive Practice
